The Mystery Of True Christianity

Father Divine’s message given at New Paltz extension (the Promised Land), New York on Sunday, June 30th, 1940 at 3:03 a.m.

Man’s realization of his place in the sun, or in other words, his reasons for existence, bring him a rich reward; for by applying this realization, which is to praise GOD continually by every means possible, he is completely emancipated first mentally and spiritually and then physically.

The person filled with enthusiasm and praises to GOD sees, and seeing, vividly visualizes and manifests only the positive and perfect and thus has no space nor place for negation, criticism or condemnation of others. This was stressed along with other vital points by our Savior in a beautiful Message delivered after the singing of a significant inspiration given to one of the assembly, HIS closing Words showing the protection, peace and tranquility which would result through the acceptance of HIS Proposal of the union of the twenty-one Republics of the three Americas and the use of one language under one democratic government.

For this magnificent, inspiring Message, blessed Lord, we humbly thank THEE!

(The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and FATHER’S Message follows the song referred to above and in HIS opening words.)

SONG
“FATHER gave us two feet to walk with,
FATHER gave us two eyes to see,
FATHER gave us two lips to praise Him,
FATEHR gave us a heart that is free.
FATHER gave us a FAITH that is boundless,

In Him and in His love ─
I am going to follow FATHER,
For truly I know He is GOD.”
FATHER DIVINE Speaks as follows:

PEACE, EVERYONE!

Good Health, Good Will and a Good Appetite, with Liberty a full and a plenty for each and everyone who will praise GOD aright. That little composition is well worth considering if you will but consider it and put it forth into expression with the spirit of sincerity and with all conscientiousness. As it was given by inspiration to the composer by the spirit of sincerity, may it be put forth into expression by the composer continually and also by those who may sing it.

If you would but realize, if you will but serve GOD and give your spirit, your energy, your ambition, your mind and your attention, your love and your devotion to GOD and GOD alone, with all sincerity and conscientiousness, it would be a matter of impossibility for you to be a failure. It is only for the lack of practical, profitable and constructive service that men or mankind fail. They cannot fail so long as they are in a place in consciousness where they are of some real, practical, profitable and constructive, unselfish service, especially when their hearts are tuned to sing GOD’S praise, to give GOD thanks and praise for all they say and for all they do.

To Be Impersonal Is the Great Essential, For Without Being Impersonal It Is Impossible To Please God

Father Divine’s message at the banquet table in New Paltz, the Promised Land, New York City on Sunday, July 10th, 1938 at 1:00 p.m.

PEACE, EVERYONE! Here I AM again as I have always been, yet I apparently arose at this time to convey that thought to one and to all:

An open confession is good for the soul,
Is good for the soul, it is good for the soul
By it you can be made whole.

This is in answer to the last testimony. It is a message to be considered, if you will consider it and be broad-minded enough or be courageous enough to make an open confession, whatsoever your sins may be.

To the second to the last speaker I repeat; to be impersonal is the great essential, for without being impersonal it is impossible to please GOD; for it is written, “They that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Hence it is essential for each and every individual who desires to follow Christ, to take on the Christ characteristics, to live and walk in this Light. The Christ Characteristics must be your portion, and GOD’S Nature and GOD’S Mind must also be inculcated and reincarnated in you, or else you cannot follow GOD perfectly. To follow GOD, it means following in the way the Spirit leads, in the way of Righteousness, in the way of Truth, and in the way of Justice, the way of consecration, the way of self-denial, and the way of sacrifice.

Then I say, the Nature and the Characteristics of God must be your portion and you must take them on as though they are your own, and live and express in them from every angle expressible by making a complete surrender and recognizing GOD’S actual Presence.

The recognition of GOD’S Presence will give you victory over many difficulties, for you observe GOD as being present as an Adjuster of matters, to adjust matters satisfactorily and to right all the wrongs for you and for all mankind if you will allow HIM to. As the light dispels darkness, automatically the Presence of GOD adjusts matters satisfactorily. The very Presence of GOD without the act of HIS doings, by nature GOD’S Presence will dispel undesirable conditions and will adjust matters and cause all things to come forth into expression in their respective places if you will but let it.

You Had Just As Well Make Your Mental And Spiritual Contact Here and Now

Father Divine’s message given at 67 West 130th St. New York City, N.Y. on Thursday, June 1st, 1933.

At the great Banquet Table of FATHER DIVINE as expressed at 67 West 130th Street, New York City, on June 1st, 1933, there were as always many visitors from afar, some making their personal contact with FATHER for the first time and others paying HIM an extended visit in an effort to get more of that which they were seeking.

As FATHER with HIS wonderful Love served the Banquet Table and those seated partook of the material food, one of the visitors said she had been criticized for using material remedies in her attempts to heal, and asked if it was not permissible in the case of an infant with a naval rupture, to use a medical aid to correct the difficulty until it was taken care of by the Spirit. Another testified that the first speaker had induced her to take the bandage off her broken arm, and had rubbed the arm with olive oil as part of a healing process, and asked if this was contrary to FATHER DIVINE’S Teachings.

Moved to respond, FATHER Spoke as follows:

PEACE! This morning I had the pleasure of again having Mr. H. with us ─ at least he made a call, and it was a message for MY consideration that was brought to MY Mind. There is someone that has been taken from the West to New York for a blessing. This party has been known or termed to be incurable by medical science. They came here through hearing of ME, and someone represented this party to ME once before since she has been here.

I did not go to see her in person, I did not need to make any personal effort, neither use any material remedy, neither use any material methods to reach the condition of the person, but he had in his possession telegrams, or at least one especially, from the mother of this young lady, desiring ME especially to let this young lady see ME, to speak a word or two to her at least.

I vividly stressed to Mr. H. that it was not necessary for ME to make a personal contact. If I AM working by the Spirit I need not touch you, come near you, neither use any material remedy, if it is GOD doing the Work. They have insisted upon seeing ME, especially so much as to have a word. They said they believed it would mean a blessing to this young lady. But I continue to stress openly, privately, secretly within the secrecy of MY Own Mind, it is not necessary to make a personal or material contact with ME, as GOD is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent; GOD is a Present Help in every need. I AM not desiring such, and as I explained to Mr. H., I do not desire to give what the people call treatments, as a Person, for I AM not seeking patients.
