Our Father’s message given at the Holy Communion Table Of the Circle Mission Church, Home And Training School, Inc. 764-772 Broad street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday afternoon August 8, 1951 at 4:01 p.m.
“The Slave Labor Wage Scale Has Inflicted All Under-privileged People” – Father Divine
During the Holy Communion Service, a secretary read a significant Office Talk from the latest issue of The NEW DAY of Saturday, August 11, 1951 A.D.F.D., on page eight, captioned: RESTITUTION TO THE OPPRESSED AND DOWNTRODDEN BY THE GOVERNMENT.”
Truly, ONLY GOD ALMIGHTY could uncover such injustices and bring to judgment every unjust act that has been inflicted upon the children of men of the under-privileged and nonprivileged, and mete out to them EQUITY and JUSTICE, as declared in the Scripture:
“I shall reward every man according as his works may be!”
Therefore, history shall repeat itself, as Zacchaeus, a tax collector or receiver of taxes in the days of Jesus declared; as it is recorded in Saint Luke 19:2-10.
“And, behold, there was a man named
Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the
publicans, and he was rich.
“And he sought to see JESUS who he
was; and could not for the press, because he
was little of stature.
“And he ran before, and climbed up into
a sycamore tree to see him: for he was
to pass that way.
“And when JESUS came to the place,
he looked up, and saw him, and said unto
him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down;
for today I must abide at thy house.
“And he made haste, and came down,
and received him joyfully.
“And when they saw it, they all murmured,
saying, That he was gone to be guest with a
man that is a sinner.
“And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto
the LORD; Behold, LORD, the half of my
goods I give to the poor: and if I have taken
anything from any man by false accusation, I
restore him fourfold.
“And JESUS said unto him, This day is
Salvation come to this house, forsomuch as
he also is a son of Abraham.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to
save that which was lost.”
Therefore, this profound and significant Sermon shall go from shore to shore and from land to land until it gets at the root of all corruption in government and overturn, overturn, overturn, until this Righteous Government that HE has established under HIS Personal Jurisdiction shall cover the earth even as the waters the mighty deep!

(The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and the following is FATHER’S profound Sermon, Prediction and Declaration, with FATHER speaking as follows:)
PEACE, EVERYONE! I have arisen to give a point on retroactive. Of course, I know the majority of you are intelligent people, but there be some no doubt do not know what the word retroactive means. As has been explained that there have been people down in theUnited Statesand exiled fromAfricaand other countries and have been sold into slavery and their descendants have not had the privilege that others have. And I said in that message, as it was with the Indians, so shall it be with the Africans! Those who are slaves or have been slaves and slave descendants, they shall get compensation for the labor they gave, not receiving just compensation! They shall get compensation to the amount above what they did receive, up to what they should have received!
Think of one earning about three dollars per month and should have been earning a hundred or a hundred and fifty dollars per month! Think of what that really means, RETROACTIVE— to pay up the amount that would be due the individual over and above the amount they did receive— from the time they gave service and did not receive just compensation, and have it retroactively paid from that time up until now! How much would it be? It is wonderful!
This is not confined to those of the African descendants alone, but as the last speaker mentioned, there are those who have come from other countries and have been forced to work at slave labor wages! The slave labor wage scale has inflicted all under-privileged people! They have been forced into conditions of servitude that were similar to being enslaved! All who have not had the right of their franchise and the privilege to Life,Libertyand the Pursuit of Happiness, all shall eventually get a JUST compensation! Aren’t you glad! (“So glad, ALMIGHTY GOD!” came the happy reply.)
For this is GOD’S Administration and GOD is Reigning NOW, Judging the people with Equity, and with Justice shall HE Rule the Nations Supernaturally! Not necessarily Personally, but they shall be controlled personally! Aren’t you glad! (“Yes, LORD! So glad!” again came the happy response.) As GOD is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent, GOD is actually dealing in the affairs of men! Since I have started the Pendulum of Equilibrium swinging in the defense of ALL Peoples, We shall have a Righteous Government and every Nation, Language, Tongue and People shall have an equitable adjustment! Aren’t you glad! (“Oh, so glad, ALMIGHTY GOD!” shouted the enthusiastic assembly.) Not only so, but as with an individual, so with a nation; and as with a nation, so with all nations combined!
A little while ago when the speaker mentioned the individual not desiring or not being interested in reading The NEW DAY, I thought of how marvelous it is to realize, it is written of ME,
“A prophet has no honor in his own country.”
There are those in Switzerland and in other countries
taking The NEW DAY as the text book of English to
learn and study English and to revere our American
Flag! Aren’t you glad! (“So glad!” shouted the masses.)
For this cause we do rejoice and we are happy to say, that as I mentioned in that little Office Talk interview, we shall have a Just and a Righteous Government of RIGHTEOUSNESS for all of the people! And as I mentioned as afore said, the retroactiveness, if you have ever worked at a wage scale beneath the standard of what you should have earned, when your scale of equilibrium is put into operation for you individually, severally and collectively, you will get that which is rightfully due you as did the Indians!
Just some months ago, the Indians, yea, the Indian Tribe of Colorado, according to the press, received thirty-one million and eight hundred thousand dollars— signed by the Chief Executive; and some years ago, another tribe received similar compensation for that of which had been taken away from them. Can you not see the Mystery? And if that is operative, logical and endorsed by our Chief Executives and carried out by an order of the court’ yea, by the Supreme Court of the United States, it is well to consider that something will be done by the Spirit of Equity and Justice for those of the under-privileged who have been deprived of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!
When you earn only two or three dollars per week, even if I say — per week, and should have been earning twenty-five or thirty, but because of your previous condition of servitude and because of your racial abstraction and being the descendants of the under-privileged and slaveric people, whatsoever you have been deprived of, it shall come so long as GOD Reigns! Aren’t you glad! (“So glad, GOD ALMIGHTY!” shouted the enthusiastic throng.) Not to be considered for a selfish purpose, but for Equity and Justice, that we might have a Righteous Government wherein Righteousness will dwell and there will be no more warfare and bloodshed! Aren’t you glad! (“So glad, GOD!” again shouted the masses.)
RETROACTIVE! If you earn a dollar where you should have been earning two dollars, retroactive would bring you the amount of that two dollars up to the two dollars that you should have been receiving from the time that you began your work or labor for an under-privileged and unjust salary such as the one dollar paid you! Can you not see the Mystery? RETROACTIVE! Going back from that time up until now! Can you not see the Mystery? I AM GOING TO SHAKE CREATION! Aren’t you glad! (“So glad, ALMIGHTY GOD!” shouted the assembly.)
RETROACTIVE- To react and retroactively compensate everyone, whatsoever is due them from the time they gave service and did not receive JUST COMPENSATION!
I need not say more. I will have more to say as this is instituted in government! Aren’t you glad! (“Yes, LORD!” came the reply.) I say, GOD deals in the affairs of men and truly, this is the Country Seat of the World, and we shall have a Righteous and a Just Government that will compensate to every individual and every nation, every organization that which is justly due them and none shall lack in GOD’S Abundance, for there is a-plenty for all!
You need not fear! That which is Rightfully due you, you will get! Truly, as has been stressed from time to time, and was even mentioned in the comment of this interview, “When the Meshiach comes, you will get your money!” You have gotten much money and others have received much money that was due them since I came! When Zacchaeus saw JESUS coming and he recognized JESUS, there and then he went forth to confess if he had taken anything by false accusation, he would repay, did he not? (St. Luke 19:2-10)
When they are converted to the Conviction that GOD is Present or coming forth in HIS own Administration they will be glad to Compensate them and DO that which is Just for Everyone! Can you not see the Mystery? To go back and Pay ALL old back bills and Adjust matters satisfactorily, for the Mouth of GOD has Declared it!
Read Zacchaeus! Read about him when he went up the sycamore tree because he saw JESUS coming. He wanted to see Him and he knew the only propitiation and the only hope of his redemption would be to Pay back that which was Due every person! Can you not see the Mystery?
So it is in this Administration, when you are truly converted and recognize GOD’S Actual PRESENCE, whether it is Personal or Impersonal, it makes no difference, you will try to adjust matters satisfactorily and Pay back that which is Rightfully due every individual!
So then, there is much I could say, but it is better seen and known and fulfilled than said, for I shall speak more in the actuated words of expression than what I could dare tell you Personally! That thought was conveyed and apparently the recording secretary did not get out the explanation quite as explicit as I wanted to tell you. I wanted everybody to know that when you get that which is due you RETROACTIVE from the time you were employed and forced to serve beneath a just and accurate and honest compensation, then you MUST get that from the time you started to work up until this time, RETROACTIVE, and all others must do the SAME! Therefore, we have plenty of money to serve humanity universally! You need not fret nor worry, for it is for the good of the people universally and for the establishment of EQUITY and JUSTICE among all of the peoples of the earth! But this Nation shall lift up that Standard and call for the RETROACTIVENESS of a Just Compensation to and for all individuals as well as for all Nations!
I spoke of it quite stressfully at the time when Uncle Sam in the Name or through our Chief Executive signed a bill to pay back the Indians several millions. I do not recall how many it was in the beginning, but this last one seemed to have been thirty-one million and eight hundred thousand dollars to that tribe, of theColoradotribe. Now isn’t that wonderful? (“Yes, GOD ALMIGHTY!” came the response.) Now if that could be true and just and right, in which it is, and it never came about until this, MY ADMINISTRATION, how about Great Britain and other countries that exiled the African descendants and African slaves here and sold them into slavery? Then what about those who purchased them as subjects of this nation from one to the other and kept them in slavery? And then when GOD, in the name of Abraham Lincoln politically gave them their physical emancipation, then they kept them down beneath the standard of slavery, for they did not pay the just compensation that was due them for the labor and the service they gave! Can you not see the Mystery?
That is why lots of people years back would rather be a slave than to be free, because they did not get enough salaries under the hard task masters to make ends meet, as so to speak. Therefore, by the previous condition of servitude and by the oppression of oppressors and by the savagery of the savages who would keep them down, a good many of them would try to keep them in worse condition of servitude; not only the previous condition of servitude, but try to keep them in a present condition of servitude, worse than that of the previous condition of servitude! Can you not see the Mystery? And they could only earn so little, a good many of them started or continued or went out trying to live by doing all sorts of dishonest schemes and crimes of every kind and by borrowing and stealing and not paying the debts back!
But I Came and Converted them and through the previous condition of servitude and the present condition of servitude, I caused them to go back and pay ALL of their old back bills such as no man did! Can you not see the Mystery? Even by the oppression of the present condition of servitude which was worse than that of the previous condition of servitude, They were forced into dishonesty, incompetence and untruth until I Came along and Converted them and caused them to go back and pay the old back bills that were due to be paid, even though the different Administrations of Government brought Depressions, Panics and Famines, brought hardships and lacks and wants and limitations upon the common people until they were apparently obliged to be dishonest and untrue to make a livelihood!
But I Came to Convert them out of that adamic state of consciousness that they might be Honest, Competent and True even over and above all such oppositions such as the previous condition of servitude and the present condition of servitude and the oppressions and panics and famines and lacks and wants and limitations! I caused them to go back and Pay their back Bills and express themselves a Citizenry of a True Democracy one hundred percent, causing that to be done as aforesaid.
When they could not find those to whom they justly owed bills, I encouraged them and told them to give it to the United States Government and they went back and gave thousands and even millions of dollars to the United States Treasury in order to compensate for what they had gotten dishonestly! BY THIS, UNCLE SAM GOT CONVERTED AND HE WENT BACK TO PAY HIS OLD BACK BILLS! HE FOUND OUT THAT THE INDIANS WERE SOME OF THE FIRST ONES TO WHOM HE SHOULD PAY THE BILL TO! THEN HE PAID THE INDIAN TRIBES SO MANY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! THAT WAS SUFFICIENT TO LET YOU SEE AND KNOW, GOD DEALS IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN AND NAUGHT CAN HINDER HIM!
We shall have a Righteous Government, and since Uncle Sam got converted and is paying his old back bills back, (can you not see the Mystery!) he will endorse every Just and Righteous issue, for Uncle Sam is a Christian!
Therefore, I AM Calling for a Just and an Equitable Adjustment with those of the Slaveric People and those of the Under-privileged so that those of whom have been Over-Lords, Executives and others that have oppressed the Under-privileged, might have an accurate adjustment for the adjustment of their souls as well as their bodies! That is what it is all about!
Now, do not think that this can be stopped! If there be any critics of whom may think it can be stopped, I AM just as Operative without MY Body and just as expressive without any of yours as I AM with Them! That is the Significance of the OMNIPOTENCE and OMNISCIENCE and OMNIPRESENCE of GOD, because GOD is Operative and Expressive without a Person as HE was in the Beginning of the Creation!
Therefore, it is no need for one Person to think, “Well, if HE Talks like that, HE is going to bring an end to Himself!” I CANNOT END! Aren’t you glad! (“Yes, GOD ALMIGHTY! So Glad!” thundered the masses.) As you heard us say by Composition: “YOU CAN’T LYNCH THE WATER AND YOU CAN’T STOP THE WIND!” I AM JUST LIKE THE WIND! That is Why it is so Profound and so Powerful, because it is NOT Confined to PERSONALITY! Not confined to a Person! Yet, if I choose to Perform the acts of MY Duty through Individuals, I will DO It, and if they go into Oblivion, I will carry it on just the Same, because I can very readily get New Ones! I thank you.
