Address by MOTHER DIVINE To The Sociology Students From The University of Pennsylvania Given at the Divine Tracy Hotel, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Thursday, October 18, 1982 A.D. 37 F.D. Time 3 P.M.
Dr. Kephart, Professor of Social Studies at the University of Pennsylvania had been using a chapter on FATHER DIVINE in his book entitled “Extraordinary Groups” for his Social Studies class and desired that MOTHER DIVINE speak to the students Herself. MOTHER acceded to his request and spoke to a group of some thirty of these students. Many of the things She said were to correct or clarify what Dr. Kephart had written. Her Address is transcribed herewith.
MOTHER DIVINE:
Peace, FATHER, Peace to Dr. Kephart and Peace to you as Sociology students at the University of Pennsylvania. I want to welcome you to the Divine Tracy Hotel. I Am glad this gave you the occasion to become acquainted with the hotel if you have not already done so. I Am very pleased to have this opportunity to speak to you on the Peace Mission Movement. I understand that you have been studying the Peace Mission Movement in the Book “Extraordinary Groups” as authored by your professor, Dr. Kephart.
Roots of the Peace Mission Movement
As I speak to you today I would like to focus mainly on the Message of FATHER DIVINE to humanity, for this is the basis, or provides the roots from which the Peace Mission Movement has grown, and it’s the basis of our life style and our goals and aspirations for the future. There may be some scientific facts or data that I may not have available to give you, but I assure you that it is available or will be in the future. But everything I say will be Scripturally founded, that is, based on the King James’ version of the Holy Bible. All Western civilization grew out of the common beliefs of the Judo-Christian tradition and the dominant Christian Protestant ethics. This is the standard of thought and behavior that we as followers consider as normal for the general society, and I would like for you as I speak, to try to understand what I Am saying from this basic point of view.
Order of the Universe
We believe in GOD; our whole life is centered around the belief in GOD. This is GOD as the Creative Force of the universe that we cannot deny when we see and understand the order of the universe, and when we see it as evidenced in all nature, in the sun and the wind and the rain, in the changes of the seasons and the birth and growth and development and propagation of all plant and animal life. We recognize that we are a part of that, not divorced or alien; we are a part of this whole, we are a part of GOD’S Creation. And of course we believe that GOD is the intelligence of the universe and HE is all power and HE is all knowledge, Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnilucent, as well as Ever Present. There is nowhere that this Power is not, that GOD is not; there is nowhere that life is not, but it is expressed in various degrees, as we see the mineral kingdom, the vegetable kingdom, the animal kingdom – which we are the highest form of – the animal kingdom; and this is what we are really going to talk about, how life does unfold and life has evolved and we can evolve from the animal kingdom, or the human kingdom into the GOD Kingdom.
Man’s Disobedience to Law by which He Was Created
According to the King James’ version of the Bible GOD, in the beginning, created man in HIS own Image and Likeness, and it is understood that at that point, we were one with GOD and one with this Creative Power of the Universe and had dominion over all of the lesser kingdoms. But, FATHER DIVINE has said, when HE created man HE knew that man would sin and if he sinned, then HE would go down and redeem him. So Man, as it is recorded in the Scripture, did sin. Our concept of sinning is that we disobeyed the Law by which we were created and in doing so we separated ourselves from GOD, or from the oneness of this Power that created us. We can liken that to electricity, and as you understand the law of electricity and work with it, then the blessings are abundant, but if you disobey that law, consciously or unconsciously, you short-circuit the current and you can destroy yourself.
Because man disobeyed the Law – it’s just like walking out of the light into the darkness- he lost the light of understanding and the rate of vibrations – you know, everything in matter vibrates at a certain rate, to a lesser degree or to a greater degree, and in severing himself from GOD’S Presence, he slowly – or maybe rapidly – lowered his vibrations, and this is when he came under the law of sin and death, under the law of the lower kingdom, and that’s when death passed upon all men, and he was cursed to live by the sweat of his brow and women brought forth children in sorrow.
Abraham’s Radical Concept of One God
Now, GOD is always Present, the Light of GOD is Ever Present, and so the Message of the Bible, or the Bible itself, we can understand if we realize that it is the story of man, in his quest to come up from the darkness of misunderstanding to a higher consciousness, where he can once again be reunited with GOD. Through all the 66 books of the Bible we read of the battle between the positive and the negative, or the good and the evil, the righteous and the unrighteous. It was a giant step forward in his quest when Abraham caught the inspiration that there was one true and living GOD. This was because before that time the people were worshiping many gods and making many different kinds of sacrifices, even human sacrifices, to these gods. But Abraham caught the thought that there was one true and living GOD, and GOD told Abraham, “Come out from among them that I might receive you.”
Any time that there is a new concept born, it must be nurtured as any mother will protect and nurture an infant until the child grows and develops and can stand on its own. So that’s what happened with that concept of the one true and living GOD. This is what GOD was pleased with and HE wanted to increase and multiply this understanding in the earth; this is from whence the Jewish faith stemmed and how they became the chosen people of GOD.
Jesus the Sample of Man Reunited with GOD
FATHER DIVINE tells us it was because they chose GOD, and as the concept grew and the time came for another unfoldment, Mary, in Her concentration on GOD and Her Immaculate Conception of GOD, conceived of the Holy Ghost and brought forth Jesus. Jesus Personified the perfection of the Jewish Law or the Jewish faith at that time, and Jesus is the One we know to be the Way, the Truth and the Life in that He completely brought Himself into subjection to the Law of GOD by which man was created and from which he had separated when he broke the Law in Adam. He was the first of the human species that made Himself one with GOD again, and He is the Sample of the perfected life for humanity.
This is where Christianity comes in and the whole Message of Christianity is that as we express the Nature and the Characteristics and the Mind of Jesus Christ, we will come into our rightful inheritance, as Sons and Daughters of GOD, and the experience of humanity will be Peace and Joy and Happiness and Health and Life Eternal; we will not be sickening and dying and having all of the social, economic and political problems, and there won’t be hatred and war and all of these adverse conditions.
Consciousness of GOD’S Presence With Us
Now this is what, basically, the Peace Mission is all about. We believe in bringing the reality of Peace on earth and it must start with the individual bringing himself in harmony with his Creator, and as he does, he brings himself in harmony with those with whom he is immediately concerned, and then it goes on with the nations becoming in harmony with each other. Christianity has had the message but they missed the mark when they put GOD in the imaginary heaven, or thought Jesus had gone somewhere, when the Message of Christ was:
“Immanuel – GOD is with us.”
That is the main theme that governs the Peace Mission and the followers – the Consciousness of GOD’S Actual Presence with us. Just as if you would die and go to Heaven and would be in GOD’S Presence, that’s the way we endeavor to live and this is the basis from which we operate.
Now, Jesus when He ascended, after His death and Resurrection, and before His Ascension, He said, “I go to prepare a place for you, and I will come again and receive you unto Myself.” We believe that it is a place in consciousness primarily, Heaven, to us, is a place in consciousness; it’s not a place geographically that we go after we die. We create Heaven for ourselves or we create the “other place”; we don’t use those words, certain words we don’t use because they’ve been used so much in profanity and vulgarity and obscenity that they carry those germs, so we don’t use them. We use, the “other place” and the “other fellow”, and so forth; you’ll understand that.
Heaven – a Righteous Society on Earth
As I was saying, Heaven is, primarily a state of consciousness and so is the “other place” and so is purgatory, and we can choose which we want and we can change it, because GOD gave us the right to choose and we are by nature creative because we are made in HIS Image and Likeness. But also it is, I believe, a place where GOD is in the physical world and that’s what we’re working to make a heavenly environment, a Righteous society and that’s what Jesus could have been talking about too, “I go to prepare a place for you.” We know, at the time of Jesus’ life, Personal Life, there was no Democracy and if there had been, perhaps there wouldn’t have been a crucifixion. It was this new concept, or new idea that was taking the people by storm that was adverse to the traditions of the Jewish faith that had set them free, and then had become tradition, and anything that becomes tradition, it has a tendency to become corrupt and it loses the Spirit and that’s why we have to understand that life is ever evolving. There are things of GOD that never change, but then there’s that which is always changing and we must keep up with these changes.
Rights of Individual Guaranteed Under Constitution
This is what crucified Jesus, then, the lack of a Democracy, and from that time on, the Spirit, when the Holy Ghost fell, and many people became quickened, then that Spirit has gone on and been reincarnated in bodies after bodies, in generation after generation, and it’s this Spirit of Christ that has fought for the Liberty, the Independence, the Justice, all of the rights and freedoms that were legalized in the Constitution of the United States of America. The Pilgrims, especially the Quakers, and all the non-Conformists, they were very zealous and determined to legalize these Christian beliefs, these concepts that ensured the freedom of the individual – freedom to worship
GOD according to the dictates of your own conscience, the freedom of assembly, the right to a trial, all of these rights and privileges. It is wonderful how they have been legalized and guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States, and because they have, the Christ is able to be brought to fruition in individuals today.
I would like to say that after man fell from grace he became dual-minded, in other words, there is that of GOD in man because GOD breathed in man the breath of life and he became a living soul, but he is of the lower nature, which we call the Adamic state of consciousness. There’s the Christ Consciousness and the Adamic state of consciousness, and this is continually the battle that’s being fought in each individual and in society, that war of good and evil, and all true religion is really to bring out the good in man and to free him from that which is his lower nature and would entrap him. So in our country, under the Constitution, where we have this religious freedom, everything has been freed, everybody is free, but as everybody is free, then we believe that eventually man will choose the right way, and when we all choose the right way, then we will really have a Righteous Government and we will have the right kind of society where everyone can be blessed with a full and a plenty and we can go on to higher heights and deeper depths.
The Personal FATHER DIVINE
I just want to speak here a little bit about FATHER Personally. Of course you all know that we recognize FATHER to be the personification of JESUS come in the Fathership Degree. Now this is something that has been revealed to us as followers. We do not try to impose our conviction on others, and we do not proselytize; nevertheless this is the conviction of the followers and we do get the results from this conviction, because it brings GOD close to us; we can experience a loving FATHER and we can experience Someone who really cares and really has the answer to our problems and really has made a way for us that is satisfying to us.
FATHER really wasn’t interested in us worshiping HIM as a Person as a man would try to – to enjoy the adulation and praise of HIS followers. We do worship FATHER, we adore HIM and HE accepts this because it is to our advantage that we can worship and recognize Someone that we consider is the Supreme Authority; but it is all from our sincerity and our conviction and is done absolutely of our own volunteer volition, with absolutely no coercion and no persuasion, because FATHER says, “When coercion begins, the Work of GOD that moment ends”.
MOTHER DIVINE’S Marriage
As far as the worship of Me as a Person, along with FATHER as the spiritual head of the Peace Mission Movement, this is because FATHER has chosen Me as the One to represent the Church, One that He considered had enough of HIS Mind and Spirit, enough of the Christ Nature and Characteristics to legally unite HIMSELF with. In uniting HIMSELF with Me, HE has united HIMSELF with everyone who has the conviction, “I know YOU are GOD.”
When I came to FATHER I felt that I was married to FATHER because I had totally accepted – it had been revealed to Me who FATHER is – and I had totally accepted the Teaching and desired to devote My Life in co-operation with FATHER and HIS Work and Mission. Now all the followers to the same degree or to a lesser degree feel the same way. Instead of being married to an individual, we are married to Christ; we’re married to this Principle and we find great joy and it’s a great challenge to do what we feel will help to solve the problems – it will solve the problems, but we can do what we can to help to solve the problems that are plaguing humanity. We know that any step or advancement we make in life, any goal we achieve, always calls for a sacrifice, and those of us as immediate followers, we are willing to make the sacrifice that is required.
I’d just like to say here that we firmly believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ; we do believe that Mary, in Her concentration on GOD, contacted the Power of GOD and it was the Will of the Spirit at that time for Jesus the Christ to be born and so She did conceive of the Holy Ghost.
All to be Born as Jesus Was
Now as Jesus was the first-born and we want everyone to be set free in the Life of Christ, I Am that Sample of how all humanity who are born by the natural birth, born of natural parents without GOD being the FATHER as with Jesus, can be born again. GOD is our FATHER and our MOTHER when we speak of ourselves from a spiritual point of view, but from a physical point of view we were all born the same way, but we want to be born out of all that flesh is heir to. I represent those who have, or are endeavoring to be born out of the Adamic state of consciousness or out of the flesh, and truly desire to be born of GOD.
FATHER’S Personal Origin
Now there has been a lot of research and talk about FATHER’S Personal origin, and I would like to say that we as followers have no record of FATHER’S Personal origin. I think it’s remarkable with all the research that has gone on that nothing of any validity has come up, and I firmly believe that FATHER is without the beginning of days and without the end of life. HE never has been known by any other name than FATHER DIVINE; but whether or not, it doesn’t matter. The fact is that GOD can come in human form – just like gas can be solidified, like oxygen and hydrogen are floating free in the atmosphere and they can, under the right conditions, condense into steam and then into water and then into ice; likewise GOD can do the same thing. If they consider FATHER had any origins and HE was a gardener or a hedge cutter, all the more power if HE could be that and rise to the place where we can unadulteratedly be satisfied with HIM as our GOD.
If I can live up to all that FATHER DIVINE has said and done, and if I can reproduce this beautiful teaching in My Life, worshiping HIM, well that’s all the GOD that I need right now. If I complete that, then maybe it will be revealed to Me there is a higher manifestation of GOD, but I must say, and I’m sure I speak for the followers of FATHER DIVINE, we’re certainly satisfied that HE is GOD. We are satisfied with the way HE has stood against all of the oppositions.
FATHER’S Personal Commission
FATHER commissioned HIMSELF to prove that a man is a man and not a color, creed or a race, and HE offered HIS Body in the hands of lynch mobs 32 times for that conviction that those in the South, like in Texas, could sit down and eat together as human beings, as Children of GOD, and HE said HE came out unhurt and unharmed; that means HE didn’t have any bitterness, any resentment, and HIS ambition to universalize the Brotherhood of Man was ever the same, ever as zealous and fervent to that end. But we saw the scars on FATHER ‘S Beautiful Head, where HE really had been mishandled and mishandled.
FATHER said that HE would prove that the Gospel of Christ could be preached without purse and without scrip; it stirred in FATHER that those that were called the Messengers of GOD, the preachers of GOD or called by GOD, were eternally begging, asking the people for money, always begging, begging. You go to Church now and they take up two or three collections, and are always asking for something. This stirred in FATHER and HE said that HE would prove that the Gospel can be preached without purse and without scrip, and FATHER DIVINE has certainly proved it. This Peace Mission has been open to the world and has been a public example for fifty years and we have yet to take up a collection in any of our audiences, we have yet to have a building fund or solicit in any way. It is Wonderful! Everything is done because the Spirit – we say the Spirit – or the individual has the desire to do it. We do not solicit, FATHER trusts HIS Own Holy Spirit, the GOD that created the Heavens and the earth and all things that in them are. HE is the Provider, and this is what FATHER DIVINE is trying to get people to realize, that if you live by this Law, if you do right, then automatically things work harmoniously; and just like GOD takes care of the fish of the sea and the fowl of the air, GOD makes a way, and we have seen many who had no one to look to but GOD, and the marvelous experiences they have had of GOD providing for them, because GOD is a Husband to the widow and a FATHER to the fatherless.
Churches and Followers a Blessing to the People
This is the basis on which this Movement has prospered. We do not take up collections; only the immediate members are allowed to donate to the Churches. If you are not a member you cannot donate to the Churches. We do offer services, and people can donate for those services. This hotel is an example of our service to humanity, but it is the Church that picks up the tab, the deficit. In other words, the low cost of living in this hotel and dining in the cafeteria does take care of the current expenses, but the hotel itself is owned by a group of followers and these are the Church members and they take care of the upkeep of the building and the restoration of the building. It is a work of love; it is our service to GOD and to man, and this is our life and we’re very happy about it, because we know there’s more to life than just looking out for ourselves. There is a better way and a way that is to us far more rewarding when we can give of ourselves and be a blessing to people.
It’s wonderful how we have come together from many different countries and many different walks of life, we’re interracial and we are in this great School of Salvation. This is the great University that I’ve been to, sitting at the feet of FATHER DIVINE, Who has been declared to be the Dean of the Universe. It’s been a wonderful learning experience, and I feel that this is what humanity has to learn, is to put their knowledge into more practical use. FATHER has taken Christianity and made it practical; that’s what we are based on is the Old and New Testament, but specifically the Teaching of Christ, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the Sermon on the Mount, and we endeavor to put it into practice daily. Jesus told the disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel and we believe that it has been preached. We now believe that it must be lived, and that’s what we are endeavoring to do.
How to Become a Follower
You become a follower by being in some way acquainted with FATHER DIVINE and incorporating what you believe about the Teaching into your life, and as you draw nearer and get more understanding, you make more of a sacrifice and a consecration, until those of us who are the immediate co-workers in the work here, we are completely dedicated to the work and we endeavor to lose ourselves in it, or in GOD. We’re not seeking any individual reward or any individual recognition; our joy is in seeing the Work go on and FATHER DIVINE’S Name magnified in the earth, because it’s HIS Name that is a blessing to the individuals and to the people in general.
In GOD We Trust
FATHER DIVINE was a Personal Example of complete trust in GOD, in the Spirit; HE Personally didn’t own anything. HE came as the poorest among men, yet making many rich. When people would come to FATHER, even wanting money, FATHER would say, “It’s nothing that I do as a Person, you just make your mental and spiritual contact, and if you’re in Australia, or if you’re in Panama, Nigeria, wherever you are you can get the desired results according to your faith. FATHER said HE didn’t suffer from not seeking anything as a Person; and all that we have – this splendor that you see in this hotel – has come through people, as followers, doing right and putting their money into property, having these homes, as well as everything that they need, and by not doing it in a selfish way they also have been a blessing to the people.
As co-workers we give our service gratis; we don’t have an income of any kind. We also don’t believe in insurances. This nation believes “In GOD WE TRUST” – well, we really put that into practice, it’s a reality to us, “In GOD we trust.” On our buildings, on our persons, we carry no insurance and we really have been blessed.
In the acquiring of these properties, they are owned by the followers; the followers do look to FATHER and have looked to FATHER as a Spiritual Adviser. FATHER hasn’t gone out looking for properties, but in My experience, offers of property have flooded in. Like in Upstate New York, when the followers were up there, you can see how, if we bought one piece of property there, well then there would be many more pieces of property offered. This is how we have come into possession of these properties; FATHER trusted HIS Spirit and whatever seemed to be the Will of the Spirit, that’s what came to HIM, and that’s what the followers have been pleased to own and operate. We are very proud of the caliber of the buildings that we have owned. They have suited our purposes very well; they have been very practical and useful.
I just have a few notes here about your book, Dr. Kephart. I must say you did the work as a true Social Scientist according to your profession. I really thought it was well done. I have parts of it that I would like to go over with you so we can have a better understanding; I don’t agree with all you said, and I would like to speak on what you say about the weaknesses of the Movement, two in particular: that we haven’t provided for a successor to FATHER DIVINE and to Myself and because of Virtue.
The Peace Mission is a Movement
Well it all ties in, because as I said in the beginning, FATHER’S Message is to the world; it is a Message that we need to hear and to lean to change from the ideas that are not providing us with a society that is all that we want it to be; and it is necessary so that we can arise and receive our inheritance as true Children of GOD with a full and a plenty, free from sickness, sorrow and death, and it’s not just to those of the followers as a group or as an organization. The Peace Mission as an organization is not incorporated, though it has had incorporated Churches since the 1940s. Actually the Peace Mission is a Movement that represents the Consciousness of GOD with HIS People and it can’t be confined. The followers can’t be confined; anyone who is following Righteousness, Justice and Truth and has these same concepts, they are following FATHER DIVINE or FATHER DIVINE is following them. This is really the Church of the Firstborn where the Spirits of Just men are being made perfect. It will go on, even if it doesn’t go on as we see it, it still will go on because it represents man evolving from a lower plane to a higher plane.
The Virginity that Christianity Espouses
Now concerning Virginity, Christianity espouses Virginity – it has been obscured by the Church adulterating the doctrine of Jesus Christ – but it was there because it was preserved in the nuns and priests of the Catholic Church. Jesus did not marry; Virtue is what went out from Him to heal the people. If we are going to conquer our lower nature, we have to abstain from human instincts; even Moses told the people to sanctify themselves from their wives for they had a battle to go up against. If someone’s going to be really successful in their studies, being a doctor or a scientist, they have to deny themselves and concentrate in the direction in which they are going; and we really believe that in order to overcome and perfect ourselves so that we might even be more worthy to bring forth children in the world, we must deny ourselves and develop the virtues of Christ, live a celibate life and we can only do this by focusing our mind on Christ, on GOD.
We are by nature creative, and we do not realize the power we have in our spoken word and in what we visualize. Jesus said, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”, and if we visualize sex and visualize negation and all of these “down” things, we automatically materialize it. That’s why FATHER, in HIS masterful way of teaching through deeds and actions and demonstration has put before the followers the perfect, the pure, and that which would cleanse them of the negative and develop them in the positive, in the Nature of Christ. For example, the Banquet Table. Such a wonderful picture for us to visualize! What a wonderful atmosphere that we can participate in to develop the higher self, the higher nature in us.
We as followers do not consider it any real sacrifice to live a virtuous, chaste life. Because we are born as we have been born, naturally we have to deal with that and have to make up the mind to overcome it, and FATHER teaches, as the Bible taught: “Such things come out with fasting and with prayer.” It can be done and I feel it’s something that should be certainly made more popular, and I’m glad to see the evidences of it being more popular; maybe not to the degree that we practice virtue and celibacy, but it is now being made a little bit more popular, and as it is, I know that the whole standard of society will be elevated.
Representing a Principle
To us, FATHER is here and what I represent will be here, and I pray that I will be victorious in what I have devoted My Life to, but whether I do or whether I don’t it doesn’t alter what I represent, and the Principle that I represent. Just like in the Bible, it wasn’t GOD’S Will for the people of Israel to have a king, because HE told them GOD would rule over them as an impersonal Principle. As people accept the Law of the Spirit of Life, this Moral and Spiritual Law that Jesus personified and that He enunciated in the Sermon on the Mount, they won’t need a Leader because the Law of the Spirit of Life is their Leader.
It’s wonderful how in the Peace Mission we are so free to be led by our higher intuition. Now our highest intuition is the Christ in us, in other words, the Law of the Spirit of Life in us, what our better selves would dictate to us, what we would consider Jesus would do, what we would consider FATHER would do, and we are free to be led by our highest intuition. If people are honest and are led by their highest intuition, then that is the Law, and the more people bring themselves into subjection to this, then the less they will need other people to govern over them. This is what we endeavor to do; to the degree that we do it, we look forward to more freedom as we allow this Law to reign in us more fully. So I have no doubt for the future; just as GOD has taken care of today, HE will take care of tomorrow. (As MOTHER paused, Dr. Kephart here intervened:)
Questions and Answers
Dr. Kephart: As You talked, we were all, I believe, looking at the memorial in Woodmont (pictured on wall behind MOTHER) which is a wonderful structure; in this area it has to be one of the best if not the best. As we look at it, those of us who knew FATHER, get different images. I picture a m-n, a Person who was about fifty years ahead of HIS time. This m-n was preaching integration long before it was popularized. HE was preaching about Peace in the era of Adolph Hitler. I understand that, but I don’t get a clear picture – in other words, the position that You’ve taken, which is spelled out excellently in the book; what the Movement stands for is clear, what is not clear is FATHER DIVINE as a Person. Could You tell us something about – did HE get angry, did HE crack jokes, did HE get ill?… (all laugh together)
MOTHER DIVINE: FATHER really had a sense of humor, and FATHER had HIS likes and dislikes, as far as food was concerned and as far as dress was concerned. HE never took vacations, HE never spoke of wanting to go anywhere as far as traveling.. HE was extremely happy in whatever HE did; HE always expressed Happiness. FATHER would be very jovial and we had many little private jokes, you know, just like any group who are working closely together, but when it was time for business, then HE was all business. It was interesting how FATHER was completely all in what HE was in. FATHER was extremely energetic, and it was just phenomenal the hours that HE kept and the schedule that HE kept. What else would you like to know about FATHER? Does anybody have any questions?
Student: I notice that You poured a glass of water for FATHER. Are You expecting HIM to come?
MOTHER DIVINE: We recognize HIS Presence. We don’t consider that HE’s gone anywhere. The more we can recognize FATHER actually with us, the better it is for us. We want to convert our conscious mentality to that recognition of being in GOD’S Presence at all times, and that helps to keep that recognition in remembrance.

MOTHER DIVINE: You mean, as a Movement, what are we doing? Well, in operating the hotel, this hotel where we are lifting the standard of Christ and of Americanism and people of many countries are coming in and seeing us. That is one of the things that we’re working on. In our cafeteria downstairs we are serving meals that we consider are healthy meals. This is different from what we served years ago, but I feel it’s important that people take preventative steps and strive to keep well.
We still have the businesses, we still have the cafeterias; we are just on-going, what we have been doing over the years. It says in the Scripture, “Lift up a standard for the people” and we try to lift up a standard in our business and in our service to the community. Like in Woodmont, people can come and learn of us and see where that standard of living and the spiritual are fused together, and take it as a blueprint, as an inspiration for them, from whatever angle they wish to.
