FATHER DIVINE
FATHER singing:
'Deeper, deeper into the Love of your FATHER,
I Will take you deeper still,
'Till your life is fully lost in HIM, in His Blessed Will!
Well, it is deeper yet I say, yet I say,
And it is higher every day, every day,
Oh, it is wiser, o little ones, o little ones,
In this precious Holy Way!'
FATHER Speaks as follows:
PEACE EVERYONE! That little composition originally long since composed, the transposition of it may be considered among you, but as I stressed it in the composition of it and in the transposed version as transposed by My Spirit, both it and them are well worth considering.
'It is deeper into the Love of GOD, and it is higher every day,
And it is wiser, o little ones, in this precious Holy Way!'
It is a privilege to realize the more you let go mortal-mindedly the more expressive
will be the immortal in evidence. The more you put off the mortal version of
things the more you are putting off mortal and putting on immortality.
Mortal and immortality, each of these two great expressions is impersonal. These two expressions are impersonal, yet they are expressing in the person as you think such expressions into consideration or into existence.
Mortality is an expression made visible by mortal-minded thinking, and immortality will come on in consciousness as you put off the mortal version of things pertaining to the life with which you are concerned -- mortal or mortality. Think positive thoughts in the positive direction by refusing to think mortal-mindedly; by taking on a new version.
If you read the Scripture, you stress as a people usually the King James' version of the Bible; especially the English-speaking people; they use the King James' version of the Bible especially, mostly those who are Christians.
The King James's version is the version that was given to this dispensation by King James. He gave this version concerning the things that pertain to GOD in heaven and the mysteries of the Scriptures as he observed it.
The King James' version is a version well worth considering. It is a sufficient version to change your conscious mental thinking into an immortal concept of things, even by King James. But if you relax your conscious mentality and dwell implicitly and sincerely on the Fundamental, even according to King James' version, the spirit will tell you something. You eventually put off mortal and put on immortality, even through the King James' version of the Bible; for by the very identical version that King James gave you, you will be inspired intuitively if you live it and express it with the spirit of sincerity, and if you serve GOD according to the dictates of your own conscience by concentrating on the Fundamental according to the King James' version.
Then I say, you will eventually put off the mortal concept of things, even through the King James' version, and the versions and the mortal ideas and opinions of men will be converted in your consideration even as a man, a person, is converted into GOD!
As you heard ME say in the reading of the Message as published in "The New Day" and just read, even versions and systems are converted by the light of the truth that is given even through the King James' version. The spirit will convert systems and customs and versions of men even by the King James' Version. Can you not see the mystery?
Then I say, it is a privilege to live in this recognition and be conscientious and sincere and be religiously and spiritually convicted into such a recognition, that the very spirit of GOD'S Presence will answer your requests even according to King James' version.
Then I say, there are those ideas and opinions and versions of men that are limited. When you retrace your thoughts back to the Gospel and the Scripture and endeavor to live according to the version of King James, the very version of King James will lift you above the versions and the ideas and the opinions ordinarily established within you. But as you concentrate in the Positive Direction continually you will make your mental and spiritually advances continually.
How glorious it is to live in such a recognition! Then I say, it is deeper into the Love of Jesus from your angle of expression. If and under Jesus' Teaching you are living, it is deeper into the Love of Jesus. The spirit will take you deeper and deeper and deeper. The spirit will lead you and guide you and give you more information as you put off the mortal version and put on the CHRIST Concept concerning the mystery.
Then I say, it is a privilege to live in this recognition and know it is a matter of impossibility to live in mortal consciousness and escape the conditions and the infirmities of the world. But by taking on the CHRIST Consciousness you are putting off mortal and putting on immortality, where the infirmities, iniquities and transgressions of mortality will not be able to find you.
As I was saying the other day to a person who was and still is very devout, sincere and conscientious; the individual said, "I have an ache or pain and I do not know why or how cometh this ache or pain in my system or limbs." I said, "It could be according to the state of your being but not actually by what you have done as sin especially at this present time. If you live in that state of consciousness where those afflictions can come, you are subjugated and brought into subjection to such infirmities as are existing in that world and under that system in which you are living." That is the mystery! I said, "It could be merely according to the state of being in which you are living, not so much of what you are actually doing now as sinning. But if you live in mortal consciousness and in that state of being in which you once lived, your old infirmities can be imposed upon you and you can be identified by your old infirmities, your transgressions and your iniquities.
But if you are not in that old state of being, if you are not in that state of consciousness where you are identified, where you can identify yourself as a person and can identify others in connection, it is a matter of impossibility for your old infirmities, afflictions and diseases to find you!"
Mortal consciousness is mortality and all mortals are not only subjects to afflictions, sickness and disease but mortals are subject to death! But you can escape these conditions of mortality's version by getting out of that state of being and out of that state of consciousness in which you have been living.
By becoming to be new creatures in reality you take on the CHRIST Characteristics; you are no longer susceptive to old ideas and opinions, neither are you imposed on by your former infirmities. That is the mystery!
The party thought it strange. He had lived obediently to My Command to the best of his understanding and denied himself from every angle expressible according to King James' version, as I AM telling you! but yet living in that old state of being, in that state of consciousness in which he once lived, the old ideas and the old opinions would attract and draw to him such infirmities as had been imposed upon him and he was obliged to be susceptive to them because he lived in that state of consciousness. That is what I AM talking about!
Oh, how glorious it is to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you might
'prove what is that good and acceptable Will of GOD!'
You cannot prove it effectively so long as you live in that old state of consciousness.
If you are that old person characteristically or if you are that old person in
consciousness you find yourself talking about what you used to do; you find yourself
identifying who you used to be! How can I reach in the
"other place" and help you and save you?
You should be New Creatures by taking on a New Mind completely according to the Gospel and according to the Epistle! What said HE concerning the mystery?
'Let this mind be in you that was also in CHRIST JESUS!'
You have not read, even according to King James' version, where Jesus said anything about where I came out of some mortal family! Did you ever read it? ("No, no!" was the answer from the assembly.
FATHER continues:) "My old mother was this or my old father was this, that or the other!" These are hard sayings, but if you are going the way that I have shown you according to the Gospel, you will be obliged, of these thoughts I AM conveying to take cognizance! I know they are contrary to the versions of men. I know that you have lived in mortal consciousness since the world began, but it is written:
'A man must be born again!'
Then you will find yourselves walking alone! Can you not see the mystery? For
what said the Scripture concerning the mystery, speaking of CHRIST, Whose Personal
Name was JESUS?
'He came treading the winepress all alone and of the people there was none to help Him!'
Can you not see the mystery? To take on the Characteristics, the Nature, the
Life, the Mind, the Spirit, the Ideas and Opinions of JESUS, it is a wonderful
thing if you do it and become to be New Creatures; but if you live in that old
state of being, in that old state of consciousness and identify yourself in consciousness
and consideration to your old infirmities and to others, it is plain to see you
are subjugated unto and to those things to which you have identified yourself
as being the one.
So this party being and true and faithful apparently, but had surrendered himself in a place in consciousness where My Spirit could not reach him effectively, because he lived in mortal consciousness and surrendered himself by the mortal versions of men with whom and with which he had been connected before he ever heard of ME Personally.
Do you not see, from a psychological point of view you should clear yourself from every mortal versionated concept and live in the recognition and the realization of the CHRIST by being born out of that Adamic state of consciousness into the CHRIST Consciousness in which you should live?
Oh, how glorious it will be when you observe things harmoniously with ME; when you get away from every mortal versionated concept and no longer be in that state of consciousness where you once lived, keeping yourself in that state of being where you have been! I know it is a death to die; I know it is a hard saying, but it is the only salvation for the redemption of mankind!
This person was in the same state of being; in conversations, in illustrations, in thoughts and in ideas and in opinions he made himself one with these from whence he comes or had come, and one with their infirmities, transgressions and iniquities by identifying himself with people. Can you not see the mystery?
Then I say, it is something to consider how you can convict yourself or you can emancipate yourself. It is not any need to say you are a new creature unless you are new mentally and spiritually! The average person will hold on to mortality or the mortal version -- your "race", your "creed" or your "color"; your family, yea, your lineage and all of your relatives represented. You would rather be them than to be ME! -- the average person had, I say. By so doing and by so being you bring yourself into subjection to the infirmities, transgressions and the iniquities of them and those with whom you have been connected and affected before you knew ME Personally.
Truly might have Jesus, the great Love Master, said,
'Go in Peace and sin no more lest a worse thing shall come upon you!'
If you identify yourselves with those things with whom and with which you have
been connected you will become to be represented in the connection and you will
have a right to your rightful inheritance; the same as you come into possession
as an heir of an estate of your relatives, your mother and your father; you have
a right to have their infirmities, their sickness and their diseases if you do
not get rid of them. That is an abstract expression as a physical and as a probate
court's consideration concerning yourself and your inheritance, but it is speaking
concerning the mystery of something that is better or something that is much
worse for you.
Then I say,
'How careful ought we to live with such religious fears!'
These are hard sayings, yet they are true! Truly might have GOD said through
Moses to the Children of Israel:
'Behold I set before you a blessing and a cursing!'
Those things are to be considered. If you receive them mentally and spiritually
according to the Life and Teaching of Jesus you will take on the Nature and the
Characteristics of your Savior and they will be a blessing to you -- each and
everything will be a blessing. Now vice-versalate your version, your ideas and
your opinions contrary to the Message that has been given; contrary to the version
of Jesus concerning the mystery and all things to you will be a cursing! Oh,
how glorious it is to live in such a recognition! So the party was wondering
and stressing in consideration, "What caused my infirmities, my afflictions
to be so affected?" I said, "It is according to your state of being
in which you are now living; according to your mortal status or state of consciousness
in which you are now functioning." I said,
"You speak with people mortal-mindedly; you tell them of your mortal connections
mortal-mindedly. Hereditively you are partakers of such individual's infirmities,
transgressions and iniquities. If you identify yourself with them you have a
right to them! It is wonderful!
You are a New Creature! Speak, think and act New-Creaturely by taking on New Characteristics and being NEW Mentally and Spiritually; for it is written:
'I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of GOD, that ye present your bodies as living sacrifices wholly, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind!'
If you are going to have the same old mind, the same old ideas and the same old
opinions for some selfish purpose, for some mortal, selfish inheritance, retrace
you thoughts back to Esau who sold his birthrights for a dry morsel of bread;
in other words, for something to eat! Retrace your thoughts back to where Jesus
said,
'What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?'
These are hard sayings but yet they are true. They are well worth considering.
'What will a man give in exchange for his own soul?'
The majority of them give in exchange for their soul or for their life whichever,
something that does not amount to anything -- just some mortal version; instead
of vice-versalating such a version and giving all things to inherit life eternal;
giving all things as a living sacrifice, even your own life, your own body, your
own soul and all that you might claim for your Redeemer and for your Savior's
Sake! That is the way I stress and I stress it over again!
Truly might have Jesus as a Sample and as an Example said,
'If it be Thy Will let this cup pass; nevertheless, not My Will but Thy Will be done!'
A place in consciousness where each and everyone must necessarily come, where
they can say with JESUS the CHRIST, the real Son,
'Not My Will but Thy Will be done!'
I mean say it and mean it with the spirit of sincerity; a wide-open consecration;
a living sacrifice to your Creator, to rely on GOD once now, henceforth and forever
and refuse to allow yourselves from His Will, from His Mind and from His Spirit
to be severed! I thank you, I thank you, I thank you!
(As FATHER finished speaking HE resumed His Seat, only to rise again spontaneously and continue this beautiful thought, speaking as follows:)
PEACE EVERYONE! ("Peace, FATHER Dear!" responded the waiting assembly.) Here we all are again! While on your mind I AM stressfully resting concerning those things I have spoken. I just thought to say once again for your consideration,
'What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?'
If you sacrifice to the extreme reverse of gaining everything and even your own
body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth you nothing; but it is
a true saying, a sacrifice from every material, physical and every mental angle
of expression must be made, even though it will profit you nothing unless you
have love in accord with the sacrifices you are making.
These are facts and figures too stout to be denied. Sacrifices are something that is necessary. You must be willing to sacrifice your own body after you have sacrificed everything else, every material substance, yet "Salvation," or that which is called "Religion" is not a thing that money can buy, but all things, your money and everything else for your life, or for your redemption must be a living sacrifice. Nevertheless, it will profit you nothing if you make such sacrifices, according to the version of Paul by inspiration, as to him it was given,
'if you give your body to be burned,'
after having given up everything as a living sacrifice to HIM, it will profit
you nothing unless you have love, even in addition to the sacrifices of all visible
expression or substances you are making. Can you not see the mystery?
It is essential, it is true, because it is according to the Gospel,
'What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?'
According to the Gospel, a sacrifice must be made of everything you claim or
have for righteousness' sake. According to the Gospel, in some way of expression
a sacrifice must be made. Even your own body, your own life, your own mind, your
own understanding must be a living sacrifice to GOD, but it will profit you nothing
unless you have love. That is what I AM talking about. It will profit you nothing;
so there is not any need to make a sacrifice unless you have love. Can you not
see the mystery? But sacrifices are required to make your advances according
to the Gospel; sacrifices of everything and even your own life, said the Scripture,
according to the Words recorded as the Message of Jesus; but Paul puts it to
the Romans:
'I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice.'
You want to make a greater sacrifice than that of the mortal version of material
things and material substances or sustenances for the body, for your comfort
and for your convenience. Even the sacrifice of your own body will profit you
nothing, unless you have love, the substance of all of your sacrifice which you
are endeavoring and are making. That is what I AM talking about! Therefore, it
profiteth you nothing to make these sacrifices unless you sacrifice your own
life; and then sacrificing your own life and being transformed by the renewing
of your mind, according to Paul's version, it will profit you nothing unless
you have love, the substance of your present and future existence. That is what
I AM talking about!
'If you give your body to be burned,'
said he, and have given everything as a living sacrifice to GOD, it will profit
you nothing unless you have love. In his version, he said "Charity," but
you know charity is love; therefore, the material sacrifices men make and mankind
make, profit little or nothing unless these sacrifices which they make are backed
with love; but those sacrifices must necessarily be, to even reflect a reflection
of love, such as you should have for GOD. Can you not see the mystery?
Now I mention this, because many people may think as the Apostle said, "I have made many sacrifices for CHRIST'S Sake, I have even sacrificed my own life. Why is it I cannot be blessed?" As I said concerning the first, "Why is it I am afflicted? Why is it I am sick? Why is it I am not healthy? Am I sinning?" Maybe there is a lack of something; even though all of the sacrifices as required, which may be justifiable and justified, in that you have made such a sacrifice and such sacrifices, but nevertheless, unless you have love, your sacrifices profiteth you nothing. That is what I AM talking about. There is where many have worked for the church and the churches throughout the land and the country, and in other countries implicitly, with all sincerity, but yet having not love, the sacrifices they have made and are still making, it profits them nothing unless they love, the life substance and the sacrifices' substance, that they might express absolutely unselfishly, without any desire for a selfish return. Can you not see the mystery?
Those thoughts are well worth considering! I cannot stress them too vividly; for the sacrifices you make are justifiable, even to the sacrificing of your own life, according to Gospel, and according to the Epistle; such sacrifices are not condemnable. They are justifiable! They are just and right, and it is just and right for you to make such sacrifices. Nevertheless, it will profit you nothing to make all of the sacrifices, unless you have love, the real life substance and the life substance of our present existence for the present and for the future. I thank you.
At the conclusion of this series of Messages, which are so deep and searching as they came forth from the Power House of GOD, the Fountain Head of all knowledge, one of the Followers who was burdened in mind because of some irregularities in her affairs, asked of FATHER for understanding that she might be enlightened on these matters. The first perplexity was regarding her failure to sign a Social Security card at her place of employment. Because of this stand which the individual took, due to her Religious conviction, her employer, appreciating her conscientious service, requested her to ask FATHER DIVINE, if it would be all right for him to exempt her from the signing of this card and the deduction of her salary in accordance with the Social Security Act, thus making himself responsible for same. The individual admitted that she was well paid here on this job, but she would not do anything that was against FATHER'S Will; she would leave first. FATHER wisely instructed as follows:
Be governed by your highest intuition. It was according to our Religious conviction that you refused to sign the contract, wasn't it? (The answer was, "Yes, FATHER.") Then let it be according to your Religious conviction that you are governed by your highest intuition, and if your highest intuition leads you that you are free from such an obligation, since he has emancipated you from such an obligation, why then, if your highest intuition leads you, whatsoever your highest intuition leads you to do, it would be the same.
Because you are a Believer in ME, it does not say that My Personal Religious Conviction should be yours especially, unless you have imbibed My Spirit and have become to be a reincarnator through reincarnation of My identical Spirit, and have become to be a partaker of My Version and of My Religious Conviction; then it is yours. Hence, if it is your Religious Conviction, why you can speak implicitly and conscientiously and say whatsoever you are led to do. You should not be governed by what you think I would do or what you think I would not do; but by your own Religious Conviction as in the former, so in the latter.
Now it should be your own Religious Conviction to lead you and guide you intuitively, just what you should do hereafter, presently and in the future, concerning that particular issue, for I have led you intuitively so far; I can lead you continuously by the Spirit within you and not by what I might say Personally.
(As one burden rolled away for this particular individual, and for many others, the speaker sought relief from another situation, and without the prolongation of time, she stated to FATHER that she had sought to locate a party to whom she owed one hundred and sixteen dollars and seventy-five cents; but up to date, despite her efforts, she had not been successful in finding this party. She stated that all of the mail that she had addressed to the party in question, had been returned to her unclaimed because of failure to locate the individual. FATHER explains:)
When the Spirit leads you in the direction whereby you can and will find the person, you can pay them. If you cannot find the person, you could not and would not be held responsible to pay someone or something you could not contact or could not reach. You see the mystery? Therefore, if you are willing and ready to pay them, remain in the same state of willingness, and be ready at any time, knowing within yourself, if perchance you come in contact with the person concerned, you will pay them. That is sufficient. That would justify your endeavors, so long as you are willing and will pay them when you can reach them.
(The speaker then testified to the fact that she had gone to the Post Office to put the money in there, and they refused to receive it, on the ground that she was under FATHER'S Teaching.)
FATHER replied: Well, that is all but better. What is your name?
Answer: Samaritan Elizabeth.
FATHER: They didn't want to take it on account of your name, then, wasn't it?
Answer: That was it.
FATHER: Constitutionally it could not have been on the account of following ME, because that would be undermining the Foundation of our Government, the Constitution and its Amendments, which grants every person the privilege of serving GOD according to the dictates of their own conscience. (The speaker continued:)
Well, FATHER, when he was asking me to give account of the father and mother, I said, "I have neither one." He said, "Who is your father?" I said, "FATHER DIVINE." He said, "We don't take any money or security under those names."
FATHER: Well, naturally you are not giving ME any money. I AM not asking you for any money. I have not assigned any money to you, and you should not assign any money to ME, Personally.
Sister: Well, FATHER, I didn't mean that.
FATHER: Well, that is the thought of it. When you told them I was your Father, they knew I was not your physical or personal father; therefore, they would not be justified in that consideration from that angle of expression, to take the money. In case if you would die, it would go to your father, according to that, which would be ME, according to your version; that is the thing. I AM not seeking it, and would not want it to be that way, for I AM not representing the fathership degree of any person from a mortal point of view.
You all call ME "FATHER" but not from a physical or personal point of view. Those of you who are of the flesh belong to the flesh. Truly might have I said through the mouth of Jesus:
'Render unto Caesar the things that belong to Caesar, and unto the the LORD, the things that belong to GOD," or words to that effect.
Now the Spirit is speaking. You are a child of GOD Spiritually. Spiritually you
may recognize ME as your FATHER, from a Spiritual point of view, but you are
not bearing record of mortality; you are not observing ME mortal-mindedly; therefore,
I have not any right to be considered from a personal point of view, concerning
things that concern you, in that way. Do you not see the mystery? But as you
know the Truth, the Truth from every barrier will set you free; hence if they
do not want to receive anything without any name or connection without ME and
without anybody else, if you do not have anyone, why, there are ways and means
whereby you can take care of it just the same as thousands of others have done,
and are still doing. You are not beholden to them.
