MOTHER DIVINE at the Mount of the House of the Lord.

Earlier in the day, at the 6:00 A.M. reading, MOTHER read to us the beautiful and very significant Office Talk given by FATHER DIVINE to some of His Cabinet in His Private Office Study at the Circle Mission Church, Home and Training School of Pa., 764-772 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, on Friday, July 24, 1953 A.D.F.D. at 7:10 P.M., as found published in the January 9, 1965 issue of The New Day, pages 5 and 6, and titled: TRUSTING WHOLE-HEARTEDLY IN THE ALMIGHTY.

At the conclusion of same MOTHER volitionally spoke, giving us HER thoughts concerning the significance of one's attitude and mental approach when uttering the words, "I thank YOU FATHER," even as Jesus spoke practically the same words: "I thank Thee FATHER" on numerous occasions during His ministry on earth, only with a far deeper realization and faith than we understood, until explained by FATHER in this wonderful Office Talk and also in a Message later heard by us.

During the evening service a brother who had attended the 6:00 A.M. reading arose and thanked FATHER that he had heard MOTHER'S words, but, he added, he wished it were possible for MOTHER to reiterate them so that all might share the blessing and the understanding of this deep mystery.

Loud applause resounded and increased in volume as, to the delight of all, MOTHER arose and read this Office Talk again for our consideration, after which SHE not only reiterated HER thoughts spoken earlier but SHE read a portion of another Message of FATHER'S which brings further enlightenment on this wonderful lesson the mystery of THANKING GOD!

(After reading the Office Talk MOTHER speaks as follows:)

So the thought stressed My mind, in reading what FATHER said about Jesus saying, I thank YOU FATHER, and getting the victory over death for Lazarus, as the evidence of the Victory that He would Personally gain. It came to ME how so often when we are saying, "I thank YOU FATHER," we say it in a beseeching attitude, or asking for GOD to answer our prayer not meaning what the words say: "I thank YOU FATHER."

Now FATHER said, "Before you call I will answer and while you are yet speaking I will hear!" Well, if you believe that, then you would say, "Thank YOU FATHER" with the thought that GOD had ANSWERED your prayer and you would act like GOD had answered your prayer and then it would come forth into manifestation!

I was saying that the word doesn't mean anything. (MOTHER points to a rose in a vase on the table as SHE says:) You say that's a rose, but you can also say it's a candle! it's what's back of it! So when you say, "I thank YOU FATHER," you must say in the spirit of gratitude and appreciation, and that's the mystery!

I was thinking about some children when they go in to FATHER and they ask HIM for a blessing and HE says, "It will be all right," and they came out just so happy, because FATHER said it would be all right and so it's all right! They conceived that thought that FATHER said it and so it is, and that is why they received the blessing. Another person goes in and FATHER says, "It will be all right," and they will think, "Well, it will be all right in the future; some time it will be all right." They don't realize that when FATHER said, "It will be all right," it's all right then! Because you have conceived the thought of negation and believed it, for it to be manifested in negation; well, likewise, you have to conceive the thought in the POSITIVE and believe it, for it to be outwardly manifested!

So I thank FATHER, that right after that, this morning, after we came upstairs, one of the secretaries was looking through this volume and she just turned to this page, and here were FATHER'S exact words to verify what I was saying; so I thank FATHER to read this portion of what FATHER was saying here.

MOTHER reads the following excerpt of FATHER'S Words
Taken from a Message given by HIM at 20 W. 115th St., N.Y.C.,
Thursday, Jan. 30, 1936 at 3:50 P.M. and titled:

Mystery of Resurrection explained by FATHER DIVINE;
'Thanking GOD is the Mystery of Victory and The Conceiving of It is the Security."
FATHER DIVINE

(FATHER DIVINE:)

FATHER DIVINE
. . . Jesus had used the Words, not only the Words but also the Method, of giving thanks to GOD, until He expressed it scientifically, automatically and unthoughtfully. The very thoughts of Jesus as He relaxed, at all times were on GOD and GOD Alone. When this was done, if the body went down in despair, the Spirit of GOD'S Presence in the subconsciousness would awaken and give Life to the physical body and Resurrect it from the dead. You carry in your consciousness that seed Idea of Life, Health and Happiness, and Victory and Power, and every other desirable expression, or you carry in your consciousness and in your subconsciousness, the extreme reverse to those desirable expressions. You carry one or the other, therefore, if you consciously conceive the positive and live thus accordingly, your subconsciousness will conceive it, and when you are in a coma or in your dreams, when you are consciously relaxed or when you are consciously and personally dead, your subconsciousness will live and My Spirit and My Name and My Mind, by your subconsciousness giving thanks to ME, will Resurrect you.'

(MOTHER says at this point, "Now this is it!" and continues reading:)

'Jesus said, 'I thank Thee FATHER,' as an open expression for others to reincarnate it. When He desired to raise Lazarus from the dead, He said, I thank Thee FATHER,' as an open expression of His conscious realization of GOD giving Him what He was asking for. As an open expression of He having received that for which He was asking that He had not openly discerned not seen, He was thanking GOD for it before it came into observation, because He was sure and positive in consciousness that GOD was a Living Reality, and before He could call, GOD would answer. Therefore He said, I thank YOU.' Now isn't that wonderful? Thanking GOD is the mystery, and the conceiving of it is the security. Conceiving it, and perceiving the idea, and thanking GOD continually until you get it in your subconsciousness if you relax consciously your subconsciousness will be saying, I thank YOU FATHER.' That's the mystery!'

(MOTHER then says, "I'll read that last paragraph again!" SHE reads:)

'Jesus said, I thank Thee FATHER,' as an open expression for others to reincarnate it. When He desired to raise Lazarus from the dead, He said, I thank Thee FATHER,' as an open expression of His conscious realization of GOD giving Him what He was asking for. As an open expression of He having received that for which He was asking that He had not openly discerned nor seen, He was thanking GOD for it before it came into observation, because He was sure and positive in consciousness that GOD was a Living Reality, and before He could call, GOD would answer. Therefore He said, I thank YOU.' Now isn't that wonderful? Thanking GOD is the mystery, and the conceiving of it is the security. Conceiving it, and perceiving the idea, and thanking GOD continually until you get it in your subconsciousness; if you relax consciously your subconsciousness will be saying, I thank YOU FATHER.' That's the mystery!'

(MOTHER then says:)

So the thought is, to work on your conscious mentality; to mean what you say! When you say, "I thank YOU FATHER," thank FATHER that you have it not say, "I thank YOU FATHER", asking for it or beseeching GOD to give it to you! Thank YOU FATHER.

(Thunderous applause resounds. Several songs are sung, then as MOTHER conceives another thought on this same subject, SHE rises to speak as follows:)

Peace FATHER Dear, Peace Everyone: There is another thought that I think is worth considering in the mystery of thanking FATHER. I always remember one day FATHER speaking in the Office concerning making announcements over the loud speaker, and how HE called to our attention how Miss St. Mary would always say, "I thank YOU FATHER, I thank YOU MOTHER for such-and-such a one to come or do such-and-such a thing," and others didn't always say that, in the same recognition of FATHER; and FATHER brought out at the time that when you say, "I thank YOU FATHER," it will be done, because you are not asking the person but you are asking FATHER and FATHER will respond. This is the thought: FATHER is in everyone and if you thank FATHER, well, the CHRIST in the person is going to respond!

So that is a wonderful thought to think about: When you are thanking FATHER you are thanking FATHER! You are thanking FATHER! And, before you call HE has answered and you are looking to HIM! You have eradicated personalities from your consideration and you are putting your WHOLE TRUST in HIM on the AUTHORITY of HIS WORD, that before you have called HE has answered, and your prayers
