FATHER DIVINE
Just before the transcriber commenced recording, FATHER mentioned why HE did not eat certain foods, like ice cream, etc., such as humanity generally, indulge in. HE also brought out the fact that a drunken person, when under the influence of intoxicating liquor, will indulge in other vices because of the germ that is in it.
(The foregoing statement is that of the transcriber after which our FATHER speaks as follows:)
For this cause it is essential to deny one's self of hereditive tendencies, of family, race, or lineage, whichever, in other words, hereditive tendencies of family or lineage, whichever, or race, or color, and any of those hereditive customs and fashions and characteristics handed down traditionally are detrimental, for they are not uplifting and are not bringing to your conscious mentality and establishing within it, the Higher Things of Life. For this cause we abstain, and by being an abstinent from all of those hereditive tendencies, fancies and pleasures and all of the traditions of ancestry and national origin, everything that is not constructive, advantageous and , progressive, you gain victory over them through self-denial and abstaining from the slightest indulgence or compromising with them.
For this cause many things you may have an appetite for, with an ordinary taste and with an ordinary human taste to do things — fancies and pleasures, yielding to those tendencies and fancies; but when you abstain from them for Righteousness' sake, you master your own self and conquer your own wi11.
"He that conquers his own will is greater than he that taketh a city."
Why is it they are all so crazy about FATHER DIVINE?" some have said; and why is it they move at HIS slightest wish or Command ?" Because I have conquered those things psychologically, hereditively and prenatally and associately within ME, I have conquered them in others. Hence I have brought others into subjection; and they, as the tendencies within you and as the fancies and as the pleasures and as the characteristics of yourself as an individual, when you have conquered those things they are conquered with them, for these external personages will be and express or reflect those characteristics, tendencies, fancies and pleasures and hereditive traits, ideas and opinions and even your hereditive instinct if t h e r e be an expression as such in humanity. When you shall have conquered them within you, you have conquered other who are the personages of such things. Hence,the Scripture is fulfilled:
"He that conquereth his own will is greater than he that taketh a city."
You see the mystery? You have brought all humanity into subjection by conquering your own hereditive tendencies, fancies and pleasures, whether they be good or evil.
You have conquered others automatically, and psychologically and they will move at your slightest command and will readily obey you.
What a privilege! What a privilege! The Condescension of GOD in coming to the earth plane to speak and act in the bodies as well as the minds and spirits of the children of men and to bring them into subjection to HIM, is the great thing. It is the mystery of all mysteries of which was spoken of by the Apostle:
"To whom God will make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory"
You have that hope within by the Christ within and it causes others to be brought into subjection to HIM by such a recognition, and by this you gain the victory over every difficulty because you revel into the glorious Liberty of the Sons of GOD. What a privilege! Therefore, it is good to have tendencies prenataled within you. It is good that they are, or have been there, and when I conquer them within you I have conquered you. I have given you the Key to the mystery to solve your problems and to overcome adverse and undesirable conditions externally as you have overcome them mentally.
Therefore, if I had an appetite to do many things from a mental and spiritual point of view, if I had an appetite to eat or drink many things from a human or Personal point of view, if I know with the right concept of the CHBIST by the Characteristics and Attributes of GOD, transmitted, they are detrimental, I would not indulge in them, even though it hurt ME to abstain from the indulgence. If they were so rooted and grounded in ME to the extent that it would hurt, I would abstain from them when I know it is the best to be an abstinent from those tendencies, fancies and pleasures, knowing they are detrimental and not advantageous.
By this you can make your respective advances and climb, the height of Perfection without prohibitation. For greater is he that is the conqueror, that has conquered than that which is to be conquered. It is a privilege to live in such a recognition! The mysteries of a Masterful Life I AM now revealing. As a Sample and as an example daily I AM demonstrating Perfection for the true and faithful.
If you had an appetite to drink any kind of intoxicating liquors and if your appetite and your thirst for those things would be delicious, if you depend on something greater and better, bigger and something more constructive, yea, profitable, more beneficia], you would then abstain from the indulgence in that appetite even though it would be great and powerful; for he did say:
"Greater is He that is within you than all they that could be against you"
That is the way to make your advances. The sacrifice of those things of your human characteristics, tendencies, pleasures, is merely putting off the mortal and putting on immortality psychologically. When you put off those vices of mortality for the Virtues of your Saviour you are putting off the seed idea of mortality and you are putting on the seed idea of immortality. Eventually you will put off mortality and put on immortality by so doing. That is the mystery.
So, daily as you travel up this highway of Life and live in the recognition and the realization of the Presence of Christ, you take on HIS Characteristics and HIS Nature and abstain from all crime and vice. By abstaining with a persistent determination and ambition, even though those tendencies be prenataled within you and be even a part of you hereditively, you are being changed from that Adamic state of consciousness to the Christ Consciousness and you are being made a new creature automatically by the recognition of GOD'S Presence and by bringing your body into subjection to a Life that is bigger and greater. The Attributes of GOD to you then are no longer merely a supposition but the Attributes of GOD to you have been made a reality and in them by the actuated words of expression you are established, and the Attributes of GOD to you then being established within you, will bring into being GOD HIMSELF characteristically, dispositionally and natura11y, and from a psychological point of view and a Spiritual point of view GOD is a reality with you and no longer far away.
The Gospel of the Epistle of the Apostle is fulfilled in this quotation:
"Know ye not that your bodies are the temples of the living God and God has said I will walk in them and dwell in them!"
This is fulfilled daily. That is the bringing into your world and into your being, that for which you have, and the whole civilization of Christianity has prayed,
"Let thy kingdom came and thy will be done on earth as in heaven."
The Kingdom is a Dominion and a Dominion is where the Authority of a government has access for expression and the governmental things are brought into subjection; there is the kingdom and there is the same, the dominion. And the Kingdom has truly come when One has been selected and elected and enthroned that is the Supernatural and Universal and Infinite King. For wheresoever a king reigns or his throne is, there is where his kingdom is. It is truly wonderful! It is marvelous to be considered in the mystery of such an unfoldment of the Actual PRESENCE of GOD. The prayer for the Kingdom to come in that known as the Lord's Prayer, did not ca11 for the observation of the Kingdom in the beginning for I did say,
"The kingdom cometh not with observation."
Therefore, it would not be observable but would come characteristically, would come dispositionally; in short, would come mentally and spiritually. The seed Idea and the reality of the Kingdom invisible then as it is developed in the hearts and lives of the children of men as a Principle and as Characteristics and as the very Attributes of GOD, the Mind of GOD, the Spirit of GOD, the Life of GOD, all that GOD is Mentally and Spiritually and psychologically, the reality of the outer expression of it will come forth into display as you live in such a recognition and bring your body into subjection. For truly the Word was made Flesh. That which has been vividly visualized then is materialized. That which was merely surmised is then realized. That which was invisible and intangible as a Principle and in a person, is made a Person, and GOD in Person in HIS Personages is made a living reality universally that we might have a Righteous Government and
"That Government by the people, for the people and through the people will not perish from the earth,"
for you are the personages of that invisible Kingdom for which you all have prayed. The Mission of Christ has been fulfilled and I have accomplished the purpose for which I came. I thank You. It is wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!
It is written,
"He that conquers his own will is greater than he that taketh a city."
Abraham believed GOD and it was accounted to him for righteousness. GOD told Abraham, because he had obeyed HIM, conquering his own will, and his own would have been pleasure for his son to live,
"As far out in the land as thou can see can be for your inheritance,"
and
"As the grains of sand on the seashore so shall thy seed be in number, and as the stars of the heavens so shall they be in number,"
showing Abraham, as one as considered the father of faith, that your blessings would be limitless and you would conquer even time and seasons and space with such a recognition by living according to the Fundamental.
"As in Adam all die (yea., have died, or will die), so shall in Jesus Christ all be made alive."
By the disobedience of one man death entered the land. Therefore, by that same disobedience under him all men live unto sin and death gasses on and upon all men that are in him — Adam. But as in the former in the negative, so with the latter in the positive, So,
"As in Adam all die, so shall in Christ Jesus all be made alive."
Then why should one in the Christ Consciousness and in the Christ Characteristics, in the Christ Life, and in the Christ Nature, and in the Christ Mind, and in the Christ Spirit, die? One could not die in these. And it is true? True! True!
"In Adam_ all die, so shall in Jesus Christ all be made alive."
It is a matter of impossibility for one to die fully developed in the Christ Consciousness and in the Christ Characteristics, and in the Christ Nature, and in the Christ Disposition, and in the Christ Life, in the Christ Mind and in the Christ Spirit. And vice-versa, it is a matter of impossibility for one to live that lives in Adam and in his characteristics and in his disposition and in his nature and in his ideas and opinions and in his spirit and in his mind, for,
"In Adam all die."
Truly might have I said in Bible time:
"I set before you a blessing and a cursing, life and death."
I have come Personally And 1 Am reiterating the same in the Actuated Words of expression, requesting the life of the person to be brought into subjection to one or the other — to Adam, his characteristics, his disposition, his consciousness, his ideas and opinions, which causes all of those hereditive tendencies, fancies and pleasures, or be brought into subjection to the Christ Consciousness with all of HIS — in short — in Christ Jesus, to be made alive.
