FATHER and MOTHER DIVINE at

It is indeed a true saying that not a sparrow falls beneath GOD'S notice, for HE has an Eye that never sleeps nor slumbers. This beautiful and very dynamic office talk bears out this statement.
While directed mainly to the secretaries, we feel that every Word that proceedeth out of the Mouth of GOD ALMIGHTY is Food for the thought and mind of every human being. It is for this cause and for this purpose it is transcribed; for the Holy Words of the LORD are Spirit and they are Life.
Shortly before FATHER commenced speaking, a letter was read by one of the secretaries, from one who for seven years considered herself a Follower and was considered by others the same, but who recently gave in to her mortal mind and went back into the world of mortality. In this glorious Office Ta1k, FATHER reveals the mystery of what caused her downfall, and gives others warning that they might not follow in her unfortunate footsteps.

"Minds and Attention,
Love and Devotion,
Ideas and Opinions,
All concentrated on the Fundamental"
That was a little composition given for consideration, because when you do not give ME your mind and attention, your love and your devotion, your ideas and your opinions and all of your sympatheticness and all of your fancies, tendencies and pleasures and everything else that may be connected with it, you cannot get out of ME what you seek; because it is dishonest to try to get it if you are not entitled to it.
If you give ME all of your mind and attention, all of your love and devotion, all of your ideas and opinions and have them all concentrated on ME directly, Personally, infinitely, definitely and positively without any deviation or digression, it tends to give one a right to such an inheritance as such a devotion may call for. So I was just thinking how it is at times.
You may wonder why things do not work out automatically, systematically and harmoniously, but there is some reason for it. If all of your mind and attention, your love and devotion, your ideas and your opinions are all concentrated on the Fundamental, naturally things will work out systematically and will work automatically and harmoniously, and you will be happy. But if you do not, you may wonder why.
Of course, on the other hand, there may be some other cause for the lack of things working harmoniously, systematically and automatically and even spontaneously and volitionally; but they will not work out according to such unless there is a concentrated thought and a concentrated heart and a concentrated mind in one direction, with all attention, with all love and devotion, with all ideas and opinions concentrated on the Fundamental. It is Wonderful!
I mention that because it is true, and things should dovetail. Things should work "gearshift like," as with automatic gearshifts. Gears and cog wheels are somewhat alike; they work together. One pulls the other, and the other pushes the other; hence, one pushes the other, and the other pulls the other. So they work systematically together because they dovetail together, and it just fits right in. Every time it comes around it just catches right in the clutch. You see, those gears fit right in, pulling; then you spring up on the clutch, or whatsoever it is; but then it comes right back like that, and then it starts pulling.
So it is with the mystery of what I AM telling you. Systematicness and harmoniousness and those things work together for good when all is concentrated on the Fundamental.
For this cause by composition I brought forth that Message for consideration:
"Minds and Attention,
Love and Devotion,
Ideas and Opinions,
All concentrated on the Fundamental."
I thought of the letter you read a little while ago. That person, as in the experience of others, could never reach ME effectively, systematically and harmoniously because there was a hitch. It was not a fit. It did not dovetail in; therefore, she lost the power — that which she had, or would have had; that which she had, or would have had, had she made the rightful contact and been rightfully attached by the gears fitting and working systematically. For when things work systematically, harmoniously, and then automatically, there is smooth running and things are beautiful.
When she used to have her mind on trying to attract the attention of men instead of trying to attract the attention of ME, she was drifting there and then with the thought, "Well, she wanted to enjoy life!" But now she regrets it and will regret it much more when she gets to her destination — the way she is going — the way she should go.
But that was the thought of it; drifting from one degree to the other; from one step to the other, trying to attract the mind and attention of others; trying to dress to the appeasing of your mortal mind regardless to how I may consider; not bothering about MY Consideration! Yet you claim to know ME and claim to love ME, and yet trying to do the thing that you think would be appeasing to others — those who are not connected to ME in thought, neither in mind, neither in actions and in deeds, for they are far from ME — but yet trying to harmonize with the thoughts and the minds of such, even in regard to singing and so on like that, you see. Because it was an air, it was an air of self and self-exaltation with flirtation of a— yes, an expression of flirting, to attract the attention and lure men, and yet claiming to be doing it for ME!
I could not enjoy, not any of her singing, or attempted singing, because it was just singing in a way of speaking, in connection with ME, because it was not for that purpose; it was not for Righteousness' sake. It was as in David's experience, when in his later days, when he looked and he beheld, and then he thought with his mind that was mortal he would appease himself, and therefore he sought to justify it. It is so much different!
So it is a wonderful thought when you stop and consider how the Spirit works. And those things separate you — drifting from one step to the other. If you are connected with another who is not connected with ME you are detached from ME already. If you are not conscious of it you are automatically, psychologically, mentally and spiritually disconnected; and if you are physically, or personally connected apparently, you are not. You are merely connected in appearance, and automatically, eventually, you will be disconnected, the same as I said about the gearshift throwing the gear out; throwing the cog wheels out. When the time comes they will be just thrown out!
Secretary: Like when you get a piece of iron between them; they can't go anyway. They can't go together!
FATHER: No; and at times you strip the gears for lack of full-fledged mesh — full connection. So those thoughts are well worth considering!
You drift by allowing your mind and attention to be attracted in different directions from any angle expressible. The radio is a good way to get away. That is a good way, because you being right here with ME, you would not have a chance to go out without someone noticing it, to those places you desire to go on the radio. You would not have time to participate or associate with others personally saving by the method of the radio broadcasting system. Therefore, you dial in on them and you get in connection with them through the radio broadcasting system.
The things you listen to, enjoy and visualize and harmonize with that are not with ME, you are with it and with them and not with ME; and the time will come when that will be seen and known; for the thing you vividly visualize you tend to materialize.
Another Secretary: It even makes you think back; if you have had any experience in the past it makes you go back to what you have had; I mean, like stories and the like; it would make you think on things in the past.
FATHER: Well, because the radio broadcasting system is the way you can get to them when you can't get to them personally without being noticed, or without someone knowing it!
Now, if you get up and go out of here; if you go out on the street —"Well, I saw P going down the street; going down town!" Well, if you don't want them to know that, you would rather go in spirit and in mind, but you would not see them going, but you go on the radio! Then you wonder why you can't contact ME! Because you contacted something else which is not of ME; something that I AM not interested in. And if you are interested in something that I AM not interested in, you are not of ME. See the mystery? Therefore, you can do those things — do those things until you will be cut completely off according to that letter which was just read!
But
"Minds and Attention,
Love and Devotion,"
as was given to the other one by composition, because I knew her mind and attention, love and devotion, ideas and opinions were not concentrated on the Fundamental, although being here and hanging on like a squirrel shot in a tree. I say, like a squirrel shot in a tree. You know, one who climbs the tree and jumps from limb to limb and from tree to tree, and a hunter shoots him and he can't go any further, but hangs on with one foot, or two feet, and he is clinging, hanging to the tree, and can't go any further, and he has got his claws stuck in the tree, or limb, like cat claws, you see, and he holds there until he has to give up and fall, you see! But he is just clinging on until he can't, you see.
And so it is with those who drift from ME from time to time. When they are shot with the Spirit of MY Mind they are just hanging on — but they will fall!
And so it was with the person and persons whom this Message reached that, I sent out directly to one,
"Minds and Attention,
Love and Devotion,
Ideas and Opinions,
All concentrated on the Fundamental"
But when you can't go in person — if you can go over the radio broadcasting system, that is very helpful to get you disconnected and get you connected with them — those with whom you are desiring to be connected with. So, that is the mystery!
Then you wonder, "Why it is I can't be, why is it FATHER does not pay attention to me?" Because you get so close to ME at times in words and in person, and yet far away in mind and in spirit. You get further away in mind and spirit at times than you are, or have been, when you were far away in person .
But,
"Mind and Attention,
Love and Devotion,
Ideas and Opinions;"
and your fancies, pleasures and tendencies are not in harmony with ME ! If they are not in harmony with ME and if I AM not interested in the thing you are interested in, I don't care what it is, then you are not with ME as far as those things, or that thing, is concerned. And if you are not with ME as far as that thing, or those things, are concerned, you will eventually not be with ME by any means, for you drift from one unfoldment to the other of deterioration. So it is a wonderful thought.
So, if you cannot get ME, if you cannot get ME one way you can get ME the other — by mental telepathy; by concentration. If you cannot get those with whom you desire to be connected, in person, by going out with them, therefore you get them through the radio broadcasting system and through mental telepathy, through concentration. Even if you do not know you are contacting them and they do not know you are contacting them or they are contacting you, you get them; you are connected mentally and spiritually. From ME you are severed, unless it is something or someone with whom I AM interested.
Whatsoever I AM interested in, if you are of ME you are interested in it too; and whatsoever you are interested in, if I AM not interested in it, why then you are not with ME. You may be a "hang-on !"
Right now as soon as I start interviewing, or something like that, your minds and attention, your love and devotion, your ideas and opinions will direct you the way you desire to go and the way you really are mentally and spiritually, but maybe not personally. Hence, you will go that way mentally and spiritually and make the contact though the radio broadcasting system, by dialing in on that something with which I AM not interested. And you wonder why you can't contact ME effectively! It is Wonderful! You are with that something that I AM not interested in, and I AM with something and in something you are not interested in; therefore, there is a separation between; there is a division between, whichever, because you are interested in something I AM not interested in, and it impresses you and it does not impress ME. It stresses you and it does not stress ME; therefore it does not match. Someone else would be more suitable for you with whom you could connect, parallel dovetail and mesh gears.
But, it is all in life ; and as she said in that letter — seven years! Even though the seven years had come and gone, she was not with ME in heart and in mind — just hanging on. She was not with ME sufficient to receive MY special attention, because she had not given ME her whole heart, mind and attention. Even though she was supposedly serving, it was not done in good faith and with the Spirit of Sincerity in reality.
(At this point one of the secretaries remarked about a little radio she had been blessed to saying that she had thought of it as a lovely blessing, but now she wasn't so sure. FATHER then continued saying:)
I think there should be a radio in every place and I was very happy to see that there was a radio in the booth at One Hundred and Twenty-second Street and Madison Avenue, in the public booth at Madison Avenue, and then one in the kitchen. I AM glad they can have the news. Everybody should have it. It should be so that they would not be dumb or ignorant of things that are going on. BUT —
Minds and Attention,
Love and Devotion,
Ideas and Opinions,
All concentrated an the Fundamental."
or else, you will have no connection with ME after a while. It is something to consider!
So many wonder why they cannot be; and if I did not know, I would not know why I don't feel loving towards you, and I feel like I don't love you like I used to, or something like that. I would not bear record why if I did not know; but I bear record from a psychological point of view and a mental and spiritual point of view. I know the cause and effect of all things.
If you give ME your full mind and attention and your full love and devotion, without any deviation, and your ideas and opinions, your fancies, your pleasures and your tendencies, and let ME have free access within you — MY Mind and Attention will be directed to you even as you are directed to ME! It is vice versal. Your little, human fancies and your little, human tendencies —"Oh, it is no harm to do that, or to do this!" Well, if it is no harm, then it is no harm for ME not to be attached, because, it is no harm for this or for that! So, that is the mystery!
Secretary: No harm for YOU to be attached, or detached?
FATHER: No harm for ME to be detached— if it is no harm for you to do this, or that, that is not in keeping with ME or in harmony with ME, or that is not with the things with which I AM interested. Because, if I AM not interested in that something, then naturally I AM not interested in you, if you are ONE with it by connection, or by association; and I just can't help it! If MY Love goes, I can't help it ! If I just feel like I don't love you. I can't help it! It just goes! Like the man said — he was just a man, but he said it was gone, it was GONE!
So when it goes, you just as well to tell the Truth about it. No need to fool around and try to fool the person. You just as well to tell them so they can go too, because they don't want to be around anyone that does not love them. "Well, FATHER, I love YOU, I love YOU!" Well, you may love ME, but if I don't love you, how are we going to make it?
Another Secretary: That's a bad situation.
FATHER: But, love and devotion, ideas and opinions, all human tendencies, fancies and pleasures and everything else you are expressing stressfully, stress it in one direction; and that on which you are stressing, or concentrating, you will attract and draw it and it will be a part of you if it responds to you.
Another Secretary: I would not like to have to live in fear of these things, though. You can be happy, but those kinds of things pull you down in confusion, wondering would it ever be.
FATHER: It is written,
"You cannot serve two masters."
These were not MY Personal Words from this Tabernacle directly, but it is written by one as a re-order of the One and the only One as Truth for millions and millions; for the whole Christian dispensation.
There is a way and it is possible to make a connection whereby everything can be done orderly, systematically and harmoniously. There are things that I may not be interested in. If you desire to interest yourself in those things, let ME interest MYSELF with you in them, and you will still be One as far as those things are concerned. But if you can interest yourself in something with which I AM not interested and you think you can get by, and ignore ME, and say I AM One with you, or you are One with ME, you can be severed, as I said . If it is good, or if it is bad; if it is enough for you to be interested in, it is enough for ME to be interested in if you are One with ME, or expect to be One with ME! That is the mystery!

with all of your human tendencies, fancies and pleasures and desires and wishes. If they are harmonious with ME, or I AM in harmony with them, then we could still remain One; but if not, these things will separate us!
That is the same as in anyone's experience. It even works with the ordinary person. Where two persons agree to agree and if they do not agree on all things, they are not one as far as those things are concerned with which they do not agree upon — an ordinary person, any person, if you don't agree. But, there are so many minds, in the world of humanity. But as long as you do not agree you cannot be one with the other; in other words, so long as you do not agree, since you are of different minds. But if the minds can harmonize and chime in and agree, as a song in music — in tune — when it agrees and harmonizes together effectively, though one may be bass and the other may be soprano, or tenor — all of the music harmonizes together; for it takes the divers keys of the scale to make the music perfect!
But this will make a perfect musician-al, invisible body of echoes and melodies of many members, but all are One! I thank you! I thank you!
(And with this last remark FATHER arose from HIS Chair and left the Office, leaving those who were present to ponder over these beautiful and very significant Words of Spirit and Life.)
