Testifying
A secretary read a Message from the latest issue of The New Day to which FATHER makes reference in behalf of the invitation given in this lecture to the visitors. After this consideration to the visitors, FATHER again blessed us to another short but very vital Message which is also recorded.
FATHER sings and speaks as recorded below :
"Talk, talk, talk, talk, talking in the light,
Talking in the light, I'm talking in the light,
Talk, talk, talk, talk, talking in the light,
Talking in the light.
"Live, live, live, live, etc.
"Act, act, act, act, etc.
"Stand, stand, stand, stand, etc.
"Stay, stay, stay, etc."
PEACE EVERYONE! Here we all are again, and yet I have always been. That little composition long since composed, and I call your attention to the composition by calling your attention to the words of the song to request of each of you, "Are you doing those things?"
While sitting and thinking, I thought for consideration how marvelous it is to be just what you are, and express it in deeds and in actions rather than in words. . . . Just a few years ago, around about six or seven years ago, I brought out a little composition for consideration, and yet it was a message I conveyed in the composition that is well worth considering — I reconsidered and repeated over and over again:
"I will preach Christ in words, but more so in deeds and in actions, and I will put MY Spirit in them and cause them to walk in MY Statutes."
I forbid ME — MYSELF, to talk more than I act. If I do not in this Body prohibit MYSELF in this Body from talking more than I speak in actions, I will beseech the Spirit of MY Presence in all others to prohibit ME from talking and speaking more than I can speak in actions and in deeds.
The way you can tell everybody I AM GOD, is to express the blessings of GOD from every angle expressible and prove GOD's independence in your deeds and in your actions.
Oh, it is a privilege to observe the truth concerning the mystery, for the Spirit has long since declared, and I re-declare it, "Lo, I am with you always." Let us specialize in speaking in actions. Let us make it our special duty to speak in deeds, for that which we say in the actuated words of expression is so far-reaching, it is convincing to any person.
How marvelous it is to walk in this Light and to stand in the Light where you can be seen by day or by night in the actuated words of expression. Those, MY true and faithful followers, are telling all humanity GOD is a living reality by their deeds and by their actions. Aren't you glad? When you prove to the world you are doing things by the transmitted Spirit of the Christ within, such as no man has done and no man can do, when you are proving to the world conclusively you are living in the Light of this Understanding, fully consecrated to the service of GOD and expressing HIS Spirit, HIS Life, HIS health and HIS love with all of HIS attributes and characteristics, then and there you are speaking convincingly where men will be obliged to understand it.
Health and happiness, honesty, competence and truth, success and prosperity and every other good and desirable blessing for you, I call these qualities and expressions into action that you might be partakers of them. When you shall have harmonized with ME completely once and forever wholeheartedly, you will be the reflector, and the manifestors of what I AM telling you:
"I will preach Christ in words, but more so in deeds and in actions, and I will put MY Spirit in them and cause them to walk in MY Statutes."
How glorious it is to observe the words of GOD, the actuated words of GOD as GOD'S actions in you are expressed, and as they are manifested to all. Men will be obliged to hear the actuated voice of GOD. When you actually express in your actions the works and the doings of GOD, you are speaking in a language that all can understand, for you are speaking in a language that is seen as well as heard by men.
If we speak the language only that can be heard with the physical hearing, and not observed, our language may not be understood, but when the language of love and the act thereof with kindness and the actions of deeds are spoken, all can understand such expressions, even to the animal kingdom. The animal kingdom can understand the language of love. The language of love put forth into expression in deeds and in actions of good and of kindness one to the other, and especially towards those of whom you are speaking, we can speak in such a language that mankind can understand it. Aren't you glad?
I have spoken, yet the way I AM speaking I have not done anything yet to what I will do. As I have been speaking among you, I shall speak universally; all humanity throughout the universe shall hear MY actuated words of expression, for MY actions shall be the way I shall speak, as I have been speaking, in the future. I thank you.
At the conclusion of the first Message, various testimonies were given, songs of praise sung, and then Mr. Lamb, secretary, read from the January 19th and 20th Congressional Record. Following this, another secretary read one of FATHER'S Messages from The New Day. It was the Righteous Government Forum of Saturday, January 22,1938, given in the Promised Land at the Stone Ridge Extension, in which FATHER practically concluded HIS talk by extending an invitation to the visitors to have a word to say, if they so desired. Those who were especially invited were received as guests and permitted to dine at the Banquet Table. With the completion of the Message, as the secretary read the closing remarks of the Message and ended with "I thank you," FATHER arose immediately thereafter and said:
PEACE EVERYONE! I repeat and transmit "I thank you."
A visitor responded by telling of an incident which took place in his life. He stated that sometime past he had been seriously ill and there seemed to be absolutely no hope for his recovery. He said the doctors had given him up and he was expected to die. His mother said, "You can see the doctor has gone as far as he can, now go try this M- a- n out in Sayville, they tell me HE is a Healing King." "She kept on worrying me," said the young man, "telling me HE is feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and sheltering the homeless." The young man continuing said: "I thank YOU, FATHER! She kept on worrying me to try this great M- a- n in Sayville. She said, `HE is a Healing King.' She could not get FATHER's name exactly right, so she said, `HE is a Hea1ing King.' She said; `You call on this Healing King, for they tell me this Healing King is healing the nations.' I started to call on HIM, and the more I called, the better I felt." And now this young man presents a sound well body, no longer incapacitated, because he called upon. the name of FATHER DIVINE Who is a present help in the time of need, yea, a GOD at hand.
FATHER speaks as follows:

I repeat the latter clause of the Message that was read from The New Day: If we have any visiting friends who would like to have a word to say, you are welcome to do so, if you wish to.
It has been well said, according to MY version, in the words that were spoken in the Message that was read, and another part, I mean in the Message that was read in The New Day by the secretary over here to MY left, but the Message that was read from the Congressional Record was just a thought of the minds of those who are stirred ... I allowed this message to be read that you might see and know this Movement is stirring up the nations, causing men to be worried as never before, because they realize I AM not merely talking in the words of the human language, as a speaker, but I AM, putting into actuality the reality of what I have said.
Social Equality: we shall have it! Political Equality: we shall have it! and Moral Supremacy: we shall have it! Through Christ it has already been established — the perfection of morality lifted to a Standard and manifested as the Light of civilization for this advanced spiritual civilization. I need not say more, but you all can see it. Just look over this vast audience as a daily occurrence — thousands in this dining room and thousands in the dining room in the basement equivalently the same size of this dining room, and in the auditorium just below — you may know all of these, MY followers, and others are not merely coming to this Extension for what they can get to eat. I have made the way, possible so they can get the same elsewhere.
There are plenty of Extensions giving ten and fifteen cent meals the same as here where I AM Personally. I tried to make it possible to prevent any cause for anyone to do anything for one purpose, and apparently be doing it for another.
I would like to say, if there is anyone who would like to have a word to say, I repeat the Message as read in The New Day. If you wish to have a word to say, we will be pleased to hear from you now, after the first speaker speaks, if there is anyone else, I do not wish to get in the way again. I wish to remain in MY seat after I sit down — after I have sat down, I wish to remain in MY seat until others speak. I thank you.
I believe as I could say, and as I thought to say, I believe one of our visiting friends, the Reverend Mrs. Lightfoote, will have something to tell us, as she came in at a late hour. I believe she has been out on the battlefield. I thank you.
