Since God Has Come In A Bodily Form You Need Not Worry Any More
So Relax and Still Yourselves — Father Divine

FATHER DIVINE'S MESSAGE at the BANQUET TABLE 20 WEST 115th STREET NEW YORK CITY, N. Y.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, 1936 A.D.F.D. TIME: 11:00 P.M.

Inside the Shrine To Life at the Mount of the House of the Lord

Inside the Shrine To Life

It was the night before election.  Into FATHER'S New York City Headquarters rushed a man breathing heavily as though from running. Throwing himself into a chair he explained hurriedly that he was from Republican National Headquarters and must see FATHER at once on a very important matter. Upon inquiry it developed that he wished to have Mr. Landon endorse The Righteous Government Platform, if FATHER would speak aver the Radio and endorse Mr. Landon. It was a last minute desperate appeal to HIM Who could have given the Victory if properly contacted earlier, but it was too late, and FATHER was not interested.

This was just one incident out of many, in a strenuous campaign. For weeks the politicians had thronged FATHER'S New York City Headquarters, and on this last night before election they continued to come, late into the night. While FATHER served the Banquet Table they came and went, seeking the vote of FATHER'S Followers, which was destined not to be given. The Representative of one Candidate running for Congress made a fervent plea for support, declaring FATHER'S Followers held the balance of power in their district, and his Candidate could not win without their vote. This condition existed in many other districts also, and was but an example locally of what is to be expected throughout the Nation in elections to come.

On this occasion FATHER Personally introduced many of the Speakers, and spoke as only the Almighty can Speak, of what HE will do in the elections of 1940 and 1944, while Candidates listened. His Personal Words were as follows:

PEACE EVERYONE! Here we all are and there I AM! I AM transmitting MYSELF through the Land, and especially at this particular time. Aren't you glad! (A tremendous Demonstration followed FATHER'S Words.) PEACE EVERYONE! I have arisen to say, the unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose, will cause us to inculcate the ideas and the opinions one or the other — Isn't that Wonderful — and will also cause us to reincarnate the very life and the attributes of one and all, and cause you all to be unified one with the other even as you are unified with GOD.

For this cause I have arisen to say, Good Health, and Good Will for everybody, a Good Appetite, with Good Manners and Good Behavior! As I transmit the Spirit of Peace, and of Unity of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose universally mankind will eventually recognize GOD'S Presence in reality. Now aren't you glad! This is not a strange occasion with us, but as you know it is a common occurrence. Therefore we sit and we stand, we look and we think, and the very thoughts of MY Mind will unify mankind to stand as one man at Jerusalem. By first coming in the Unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose MYSELF as an individual, all who concentrate on ME in reality, and believe radically even as you do, harmoniously, they too as well as you, will know it is not anything impossible for HIM nor for them who believe. Now aren't you glad.

GOD Came In Bodily Form

Then verify both you and I, the composition sung so vividly just a few moments ago — We don't have to worry. I believe this evening MY Followers can tell all of the world, even all of the politicians, the very foundation stone of our Government and of civilization, "You don't have — to worry, since GOD has come in a Bodily Form. You don't have to worry," for GOD in one man is the majority. Aren't you glad!

Upon this Foundation if you will stand, recognize the Actual Presence of GOD in man—you will not have to worry, for as GOD HIMSELF in HIS Insignificant Appearance has brought millions the victory, HE carries within HIMSELF and among you, the victory for everyone that will harmonize with HIM. I thank you.

We are still calling for Righteousness, Justice and Truth, for the recognition of GOD'S Presence among you in a Bodily Form is convincing to you and to all mankind, that we can get justice in the flesh, since GOD HIMSELF has come in the flesh as the pre-evidence of the Universal Brother unified together "as one man at Jerusalem," and not another. I thank you.

PEACE EVERYONE! At this time I AM refraining from speaking, as we have several speakers here this evening, and especially those of our political world. As they are just about to enter into the change of an expression of politics apparently, I will refrain from speaking. Those of our honored guests will be introduced, as we have several here this evening. While we are ever present they are not always present. We are mindful how we entertain strangers, although the political machinery is not very much of a stranger to us now. Those of us who have not, or had not whichever, recently, for the last three or four years, acquainted ourselves with the political machinery, we have studied it quite carefully, and we expect to stand for Righteousness, Truth and Justice, now henceforth and forever.

As I aforesaid to you, I AM not Saying very much politically at this particular election, neither AM I Saying very much organizationally, but I will speak universally in 1944. In 1944 we mean to speak from land to land and from shore to shore. Now aren't you glad ! In the transmission of Righteousness, Truth and Justice and the reincarnation of it through the true and the faithful inculcating the Principle as exemplified among us, we shall have at that time a universal Foundation established for a Universal Utopia. I thank you.

Mr. Harris Introduces a Speaker

(At this point Mr. George Harris, former Editor of the New York News, introduced a speaker representing Judge Bleakley, Republican candidate for Governor of New York, and this speaker was followed by Judge Frederick J. Groehl, candidate for Judge of New York's Court of Special Sessions. In a few moments another speaker arrived, and FATHER, introduced Fireman Riley of Truck 23, who urged the Followers to vote for the three platoon system for the firemen instead of the present method of twenty four hours on duty at a stretch. The next speaker was Mr. Abraham Unger of the All People's Party and FATHER'S Legal Staff, who severely criticized the politicians who come at election time with honeyed words but never show up at any other time to prove their sincerity. Following this FATHER spoke again as follows:)

PEACE EVERYONE! Here we all are again! I AM still drawing in attracting and drawing to ME the Essence of Life from every angle expressible, from every scientific mind, from every intellectual mind, from every political mind, from every Just and righteous mind. By this, as the honey-bees do the flowers, even so I AM doing mankind. The honey-bees go into all sorts of flowers, both the bitter and the sweet, and they get the substance from those flowers, but when they get through with it it is good meat to eat. Isn't that Wonderful!

Calling All Nations Together

So it is with the mystery of which I AM expressing. I AM calling all nations together from all the ends of the earth. I AM calling the Essence of Righteousness, Truth and Justice from each and every person, from every organization, and from every phase of life, and from every angle and every expression. By this, we shall have a Righteous Government, for we are bringing all of the Righteousness of the Righteous, and the Righteousness from the wicked, in the recognition of the Fundamental and causing each and every expression to be MY positive and sincere servant.

Oh it is a privilege to realize what GOD can actually do! I have declared among you, with or without a politician we shall have a Righteous Government. I have declared among you. with or without a party we shall have a Righteous Government. As the Spirit of MY Presence has actually contagionized the atmosphere in which we are living and caused mankind to think differently, caused them to act differently, caused them to feel the same, I shall contagionize the universe with the reconition of GOD'S Presence, and Righteousness, Truth and Justice shall have dominion.

One Eternal Victory

Now it may look a little strange as I aforesaid, when I take a stand as I have taken, and when I refrain from doing what we might feel as would be justifiable to do, but when you stop, and look, and listen, and observe with your physical sight what GOD has actually done among this People through every opposition, — all of the religions they opposed ME, all of the organizations of Society they have opposed the Fundamental that I have exemplified. Coming through all of the trials and conflicts of each and every one of them, I have brought for you this one eternal victory.

Now they can see it! When I AM not expressing publicly and openly I AM expressing silently and subconsciously, for the little leaven of Whom you say I AM, shall leaven the whole lump of mankind. Aren't you glad! By this, as I aforesaid, with or without MY Personal Presence as I have conveyed MYSELF in a multitude of people, I shall accomplish MY Endeavors and MY Ambition as nothing less than that of Perfection on the material plane in the way of Righteous Government, not only for this Country but for all Countries of our present civilization.

GOD Shall Silence Every Tongue

Our ambition now is nothing less than bringing to Perfection Righteousness, Truth and Justice among all of the nations of the earth, causing a Righteous Government to be universally established as it is under MY Personal Jurisdiction and on MY Immediate Staff. Now isn't that Wonderful! Where GOD alone shall be heard to speak! Others shall not be heard after a while! I shall silence every tongue, and GOD alone shall reign — isn't that Wonderful — for everything else has failed us. You know all things have failed you, but the very Spirit of GOD's Presence coming through great trials and tribulations has given the victory and come over the trials victoriously, therefore naught can hinder ME. Isn't that Wonderful!

We shall have a Righteous Government. This has been called into expression for the political world, but the Righteousness of GOD as exemplified in One shall a11 recognize — the Law of the Spirit of Life universally, or among all mankind — as it has been recognized in One. When this shall have been accomplished, can you not see we will have a 8ighteous Government? Can you not see, mankind will be lifted above all depressions, lacks, and wants, and limitations? Every person can see it. By this, the demonstration of the Peace Mission Movement as manifested, is plain for all to see it. Isn't that Wonderful!

You Should Not Worry Any More

Therefore as I say, and as was aforesaid by one of our Speakers, we shall have a Righteous Government universally, not later than 1944. We mean to turn and overturn until the Spirit of Righteousness shall be inculcated in the lives of the children of men, and all mankind will eventually be the reincarnation of the identical Life and the Teaching of HIM of Whom you say I AM. Oh it is a privilege to realize it! But as you realize these things and these sayings, you can relax, still yourself, and as I aforesaid, "Since GOD has come in a Bodily Form" you should not worry anymore.

Why should you not worry? It is because the Sample and the Example is to let you know. That is what it is for; the Sample is to let you know, if GOD has come in a Bodily Form the same can be in you. If in the flesh, in the likeness of sinful flesh, you can see I have the victory, it is a Sample and an Example for all humanity, that they too as well as you, can have the victory. I know when I gave that inspiration as a composition, your thoughts were directed in this direction, to ME Personally, but you should not worry any more. Why should you worry? If GOD has come in a Bodily Form it is an outward expression that GOD can and will come in all persons, and shall have all dominion in them, even as HE rules and reigns supreme in the Tabernacle in which HE came.

Victory With or Without a Ba11ot

If GOD has come in a Bodily Form it is to let you know, the identical expression is transmitable, reincarnatable, and repersonifiable. As this is personified in others, they too, of MY Characteristics will be partakers, be partakers of MY Nature, MY Success, and MY Prosperity, that come by the reaction of MY Characteristics and MY Nature as exemplified among you. You can see success, you can see prosperity. Then I say you should not worry. Rest assured, if you are wholeheartedly for ME, with or without a ballot MY Spirit and MY Presence will give you victory, for GOD in one person is the majority. Now isn't that Wonderful! You can rest, and you need not worry, for if GOD in HIS own Majesty, and Dominion, and Authority, is for you, who can be against you? Greater is HE that is within you if you are in harmony with HIM, than those who could be against you. Though they are millions, there will be a way of escape that you may be able to win the victory in whatsoever you may endeavor, if it is for Righteousness, Truth and Justice. I thank you.

PEACE EVERYONE! There are still others here; in other words there are others here waiting, I believe would have something to say. We like to hear them talk, but as the two previous speakers said, many of them can and will come and make flowery speeches for a selfish purpose, according to MY fanatical phrase through "ulteriorness." But if you are living according to MY Spirit and MY Mind, MY Spirit and MY Mind will teach you all things, and you will have victory over all things that may arise in opposition. Therefore you will no longer be ignorant, for MY Spirit will teach you Wisdom. While there are those who would desire to have our support politically from an organizational point of view, if they do or if they would but know, with or without a political vote if they are with ME wholeheartedly I will be victorious for them. Now isn't that Wonderful! But as it has been, there are those who have striven to disfranchise the Followers, the Believers, in violation of the Constitution, trying to undermine it. We will be prepared in 1940 politically, and have our politica1 emancipation as far as names are concerned, to register and vote without any hindrance, for between this and then GOD shall reveal some information to them and shall continue to turn on the search-light, that all mankind might see through the Press and other ways of expression, to show them that everyone who would try to prohibit you from voting because of your names, they are trying to undermine the Constitution of the United States. Isn't that Wonderful!

Right to Your Religious Conviction

You want to tell them about it! Let them know it! You have a right to your religious conviction, and you have a right to see that your religious convictions are legalized, as the legal field of expression and all Government are founded upon the Fundamentals as recorded in the Bible. How dare they to try to criticize or disfranchise those of you MY Followers because of your Names, when your Names are the Names as given by the Spirit according to the Scripture, and they claim that they are sworn in by the Holy Bible which is the Scripture, that they do and will protect the Constitution. We shall turn the search-light on, and let them see and know, every unconstitutional law, rule, or regulation, yea every move that shall be made by the politicians and the Board of Elections, if it is not Constitutional they are attempting to undermine the Constitution under which they are protected.

Now Righteousness, Truth and Justice, these Qualities are the Foundation of this Government under which we are living — Righteousness, Truth and Justice, and, freedom to serve GOD to the dictates of your own conscience, seeking that which is termed religious liberty. That is why you recognize the Declaration of Independence. Isn't that Wonderful! Through pour religious conviction, you are returning all stolen goods, you are paying all of your old bills, you are dealing justly between man and man, and all of these acts of Righteousness, with all of the different virtues you are expressing are according to the Constitution. In other words they are endorsable, and required to be carried out by the laws of our Land and Country.

"Germinized" the Actual Atmosphere

I need not say more at this time, but as I aforesaid we shall cause mankind to see and know, if they will attempt to disfranchise you again it will be openly understood and universally known, they are attempting to undermine the Constitution. Now I need not say mare, as I aforesaid. I believe I have said enough to let you know, on the eve of this present election, that whosoever it may be that shall be elected, they must stand for Righteousness, Truth and Justice, or they will be a failure.

I have "germinized" the actual atmosphere in which we are now living, and I have caused the universe of mankind to be more politically inclined than ever before. Now isn't that Wonderful! You know you have never heard of people desiring to register and vote as they have at this present time. Why is it? You know why. It is indeed Wonderful!("Yes FATHER, it is YOU" — was the mighty shout.) We shall not cease to function until I shall have accomplished all of MY Endeavors to bring about Righteous Government universally, but especially in this Country.

Now I would just like to say before I conclude, there are those who are supposed to be legal representatives of this City Government, who are opposing Righteousness, Truth and Justice. Now they too I will move out of Office. That is, if I AM Who you say I AM! We will not use the bullet, and we need not use the ballot, but I will do just what I have declared. I have declared, I will move them out of office. It is indeed Wonderful! Now watch a certain policeman! See if he is not moved out! We will not use the bullet; we may not use the ballot to move him out, but he and many others shall be moved out of Office. I shall let them see and know, GOD rules.

GOD Alone Sha11 Reign

I have declared in millions, GOD alone shall reign. When they refuse to do their duty I shall move them out of office. I need not say a word to them, but as it is the Chief Executive's duty to move them out, I will present it to him. It is indeed Wonderful! Every unjust official who will not fulfill his official duty justly and righteously, we shall move him out of office one way or the other. Isn't that Wonderful! Now I AM sure that policeman — especially one, I have his number, and many others — he is trembling in his boots this evening. Isn't that Wonderful! When they will allow men and boys to break up, and start riots, and break into houses, and such like as that and will not do their duty, I shall move them out of office, and especially one of whom I AM now speaking that was called to the 130th Street Extension. I shall move him out of office!

Now tell him I said it; and again I say, if the Police Department will not fulfill their duty I shall organize a band of those of MY Followers to patrol the District. Now if the Police Department will not do their duty I shall take the Law in MY Own Hands. I want MY Followers to be on the look-out. Whensoever they find one violating the law, arrest them, and if the Policeman then will not do his duty, take his number.

PEACE EVERYONE: I presume I a little over-talked MYSELF, as there are other speakers here. I apparently started to go, but as we have others here, I believe we have some who may not consider themselves to be near ME, not to be classed as MY immediate Followers, nevertheless they are so closely connected I need not call on them Personally, I believe they will move volitionally, I will wait and hear from them. I thank you."

(Following FATHER'S Words, Mr. Ben Lazarus of the W.P.A. Federal Theatre Project spoke, and the thousands were dismissed.)

She continues : ) 50 ~FATHER and MOT~IER Dear, I have so much to thank YOU for. I thank YOU, FATHER,, for the good health YOiJ have given me. 1 never had a dcetor for more than thirty-eight years, onty when I went to the dentist. (Loud applause resounds.) So I see how FATHER has given me good health and strength and energy and everything! I thank FATHEft for this wonderful privilege that we have had. It is wonderful when we go with FATHER and MOTHER, we know FATHER, and MOTHE:t are just before our eyes and THEY protect us. It is wonderful, we have nothing to fear what is here, what is there or what is everywhere. The neighbars a few years ago told me, "You can any time count on us." I said, "Oh, I have a Company Keeper, GOD! GOD IS my Company Keeper all th~ way !" So ~ thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHER, that YOU are with me and YOU are so near and so dear to our hearts. Thank YOU, FATHEft and MOTHER Dear. It is Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Mrs. Margaret Klaus, Denver, Colorado : Peace, FATHER, Peace, MOTHER, Peace, Everyone ! I just want to thank YOU again for this Anniversary, for being here and being able to bring my friend. I know if FATHER hadn't put it in her heart to come, I couldn't have brought her, but we have enjoyed it so very much. I just want to tell a little something that impresaed me greatly a couple of weeks ago, I went to pick up some plants that I wanted to transfer to my garden from another persan's garden, and this lady had a daughter who had been very ill ; and the daughter, the lady told me, had been getting into a very serious depression and ahe could not seem to get well or encourage her to do anything but just sit. She had a bad condition of the bones which made it quite difficult to get up or down. So I spake with her a little while and she said "Oh, I look so badly I don't want you to see me,". and I said "I don't think that is any reason for me not to see you." And really, this wasn't the case. , She looked quite weli, but she imagined this. So I asked her if she had any church connections or if she was asking GOD to help her, and she said the Mormons had prayed for her at one time and she did receive help. We talked for a little while and I tried to cheer her ug and told her that I was sure that there was help for her. Jt came about that she wanted me to come down for more plants that would be ready later, so I said I would be gone for a week or so and I wouldn't be able to come ; sa she asked me where I was going and I told her all about FATHEft and MOTHEft, as much as I could, and why I was going. Then she said, "Oh, do you have any literature with you that I might have?" I started ta say no, and I happened to think that there was a New Day in t~e car. I generally have one or two in there, so I said I have one and I don't think it tells about the Anniversary, so I brought her The New Day. That was a few days before I came this way, and I told her 1 would be glad if she could come too. She seemed to be so interested but she could not come at this particular time. But when I called her a few -days later, it was the night before I came here, she said she and her mother had enjoyed The New Day very, very much and she was feeling better. I thank YOU, FATHE~t and MOTHEB for this spirit of love and kindness that YOU demonstrate all over the world and for YOUR. protection and guidance and for bringing us. and taking us wherever we need to go safely. Thank YOU for everything. Miss May Snyder, Los Angeles, California: Pe.ace, FATHER, Peace, MOTHER and Peace, Everyone! I thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHER for the great privilege of being here for this beautiful cecasion. I thank YOU, FATHEft and MOTH~R, for YOUR, great love. Everywhere May 29th', 1976 A. D. F. D. The NEW DAY 21 we have gqne we see nothing but the outpouring of this beautiful love; and I am truly grateful, FATHER and MOTHER, to be one in the number to participate in this beautiful Anniversa,ry. I thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHER, for being here at Woodmont and I thank YOU, FATHER, for the Love March to the Shrine. It is beautiful, FATHER. I thank YOU for the great sacrifice that YOU have made for all of us. It is truly wonderful when we realize what YOU have done and are still doing far ail of YOUR children. I thank YOU, FATIIER and MOTHER, for YOUR tender mercy and compassion. That's all I can say at this time. Thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHEK. Miss Faithful Witness, Sacramento, California: Feace, FATHEft Dear, Peace; MOTHER Dear and Peace to Everybody ! I was thinking of the song the brother sang the other day, "I can't count my blessings or name them one by one," and I was thinking as I looked on the children how beautiful they look, it is just wonderful ! And I just thank YOU, FATHEft, with all this going on, it takes nothing but love to put all of this together. Absolutely GOD's unadulterated Love~ and there are dedicated bodies around that are doing this! Isn't it wonderful? It's just so beautiful when you think of this Peace Mission you are thinking about somet, hing because this is the greatest on earth! It is the best on earth, and I thank YOU, FATHE~ and MOTHER, to have a little part in i!! Thank YOU, FATHER ~nd MOTHER. Mr. Elie Dia.na, for~nerly of France: Peace, FATHER, Peace, MUTHEB, Peace, Everyone ! I juat want to thank YOU for YOUR, love and sweetness i~n bringing us together to the Marriage Feast of the LAMB, the time—the Anniversary. It was quite anexpected for me because, as I sa.id, I had not planned it, but I trusted YOUR Spirit to make a way as it was seemingly impossible far a while. I had my money in a hold at the bank as I was coming back from Hawaii, in Los Angeles. And at~ the club where I work, well, they were expecting me this week to do some planning, but all the obst, acles disappeared last Friday. Well, I had talked it over with the brother at Circl~ Mission Church and we would have been very glad to ~ome. Last Friday I went to the bank and the young lady, I eaplained to her that I wanted to come to Phi~adelphia, and she said, "Well, your money is still in hold, but I can get it for you. How much do you need ?" I told her, so she went to the cashier and gave me what I needed ; and for the planning, I went to see them and I told them if we have the pianning done by Monday morning, will it be all right with you, because you won't need me anyway for a couple of weeks? He said, "Okay," so the planning was done and I was free to come. I know it was YOUft SPIftIT. There is so much to say. It is wonderful to be here. It is wonderful to be at this Table and to know the sig.nificance af it. It is the Marriage of the LAMB and the BRIDE ! It is the Union of Heaven and earth ! It is the spiritualization of matter and the materialization of Spirit! It is the glorification of the Presence of GOD ! It is the end of mortality and materiality—that concept of believing that there is no reality in GOD. It is a reality brought down to earth or to light, where only bodies rr►ade by GOI~—and as HE made them, HE made them whole, living and expressing GOD, GOD's Attributes. It is Heaven on earth. If it is done, it is only because of FATHER DIVINE and MOTHER DIVINE. ("It's true," came the sanction.) FATHER ca11- ed us from all the parts of the world wherever we were. VVe don't need any evangelists or anything personal. It was HIS Spirit that HE sent out from HIS Own Temple th~t touched us and awakened us from within to HIS Presence in the Flesh so we could see HIM with the eye of Spirit and start living altogether in a different world, because this is out of this world! (Thunderous applause resounds.) Dear FATHER D I V I N E and MOTHEA DIVINE, it is truly wonderful to be with YOU and to know that YOU have lifted us and that YOU have made it possible and that YOU have opened all the avenues for us to be in and express this new conception of life, this, new version of life, the only version. It's angelic because it doesn't belong to the concept of man and woman at all. It came directly from Heaven, from GOD ! It's absolutely spiritual, but still it is in the bpdy, so it's really the spiritualization of the fiesh and the materialization of the Spirit. And we respond today because of YOU, because of YOUft Sacrifice and because YOU are living in each and everyone of us. And all of humanity, if they only would open their eyes and open their mind and realize this fact, to us it seems so plain and so real, but I can see that they—well, it is like blindness, they cannot see, they cannot see it! They cannot hear it, but I know I love humanity, I love people. I get along fine with everybody. I have friends everywhere. I met peop}e from ftussian descent, I was, I would say, I don't want to bring that up, but I went to school with them and I was their friend. I worked with a Russian on the French Riviera and we shared the same apartment. Here in this country I met people from everywhere and we are ONE. I just came back from Hawaii and i found so much warmth and friendliness from people from Polynesia, Japan and Chinese descent and Hawaiians and it was wonderful, wonderful ! So I know YOU are living in everyone and at YOUR Own time YOU will awaken everybody who wants to live. So this in a way relaxes us from the ideas of trying to push our conviction, our conception upon somebody else, which is done only by the Spirit. So FATHER and MOTHER Dear, we are greatly blessed just to realize we were able to open our mind so that we could see YOU, and as we came along, YOU made us more and more understand, and YOU are still doing it. So FATHER and MOTHER Dear. there is a lot to say, but I have to make it shorter. I am very happy to see my Divine Family and to be with YOU, FATH~R and MOTHER Dear. Again thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHER Dear. Mrs. Irene Wormky, Chicago, Illinois: Peace, FATHER, Peace, MOTHER, Peace, Everyone! I am leaving tomorrow and I couldn't leave without expressing my appreciation for the blessings that FATHER and MOTHEft have given me. I think this is an extra, extra ordinary blessing to sit at this Table. If I was the emotional type, I would be just like they are on "The Price is Right," when they call such and such a person to come on down, etc. Usually I speak of the things that FATHER has done. I do somehow dwell on the ne~ative. but FATHER has done so much ; and when you read The New Day, HE spoke alaout the SAME RIGHTS and not just EQUAL, you know. And those things were spoken of back in the nineteen thirties, and when the Supreme Court made their decisi.on, that clearly defined that EQUAL RIGHTS were not the same thing, the SAME RIGHTS! And of course they found it was the most unequal. And then we heard FATHER saying HE was going to remove unjust officials and HE was g~ing to free the world, and HE would do it not by the ballot and not by the bullet, but by HIS Spirit! And then we know that in our time India was freed without a bullet or without a ballot. We know that there are more than forty countries of Africa that have received their freedom since FATHER DIVINE has been on the scene, and that was without the ballot and without the bullet! And right now there are only two remaining countries in Africa, and we can just see from newspaper accounts of what's happening, and FATHEB is bringing that about also. The United States has really been amiss in many instances, that is, in helping to foster this, the freedom of the African peoples and many times they have abstained from votin~. which is, the sins of omission are as big as the sins of commission. But now they are speaking out, and they say now they are in favor of majority rule, and I know that is FATHER's Spirit and it is FATHER that is doing thase things. And just as I said, this is the yea.r of our LORD, FATHEB DIVINE, and in the twentytirst century they will tell you all the things that have happened in the twentieth century and I do pray that they will give FATHER DIti INE the glory and the honor and praise ; and I thank You. MOTHER, for You being You. Mr. Hezekiah Craig, Lo~ Angeles, California: (Excerpts) P e a c e, FATHER Dear Peace MOT~-IER Dear, Peace, Everyone! I just had to get up and thank FA'FNER and MOTHER for this real blessin~ today. I have to think back at what F~THER has done for me over the years. I remember I have told this before, but I would like to say it again. At the time of the Marriage, everybody w as talking and they wanted to know wha~ it was all about, and of course in those days 1 wasn't much of a Bible reader, you kno yv~ so this one couldn't understand it and that one couldn't understand it, so they asked me "What do you t.hink about it?" Well, when I spoke, GOD spoke for me and HE said, "She's the church." You know, there was a satisfaction I got right there and I didn't worry about it any more and I accepted that which came forth~ and I thank FATHER for that because HE brought it forth ; and I know I read the Bible and I read the Creeds and FATHER blessed me to that. And if you just have a little f a i t h in FATHER and MOTHER, how far THEY can take you. Now that was in 1946 and I am still here thanking FATHEft and MOTHER for all the blessings. So it is wonderful. FATHER has. protected me all along. I remember in nineteen forty-two I was being drafted, you know, and I was worried, oh, that worried me so. I knew about FATHER and had known about HIM for quite a little time. Of course, I wasn't trying to live xnything, but the Spirit said, "You_ aa-e going to be all right." And I said, I am ~oing; to be all righ~ yet I'm 22 The NEW DAY May 29th, 1976 A. D. F. p, going too. So it was wonderful. As I went, FATHER,. did protect me. I spent over thirlyeight monlhs overseas and I came back without a scratch and without a hungrp day. (Mr. Hezekiah relates in detail that after his return from overseas he went to New Brunswick, New Jersey, after which through his great desire to see FATHER he was t&ken to the Rockland Palace in New York City, given a seat at the Banquet Table and the next great thrill to him was when FATHER Personally walked in ten or fifteen minutes later. Mr. Hezekiah concludes by aaying:) I am tetling you that was a real blessing to me because HE heard me and HE protected me all this time. I thank HIM for all HE has done for me, and if I just keep on praising HIM and loving HIM; I know everything will be all right. Thank YOU, FATHE~t and MOTHER Dear.. GIVEN DURING HOLY COMMUNION BANQUET at the UNITY MISSION CHURCH, AOME and TRAINING SCHOOL, INC., OF PA. 907 N. 41st ST~iEET, PHILADELPHIA — PENN3YLVANIA — SUNDAY — MAY 9th, 1976 A.D.F.D. TIME : 1:34 P.M. A beautiful Holy Communion Banquet Service was served at noon on the day known to the world as Mother's Day, prior to accepting the invitation to go to Woodmont, the Mount of the House af the LORD for the day. The abundan~ce of material and spiritual food was forthcoming~ as we first heard from our Beloved SAVIOK, FATHEK DIVINE, via tape recording as HE Spoke on February 6th, 1953 A.D.F.D., streasing among other things the fact that we get the result~ of our Conviction. This was made incre~singly evident in the volitional testimony of two speakers—the first, Mr. Eugen Ammann, formerly of the Circle Mission Church of Switzerland and who has now come home to America ~o staq — and the other, Miss E. Ferne, long assceiated with the Unity Mission Church here, As these testimonies speak for themselves, no further words axe neceasary. Mr. Eugen Ammann: Peace FATHEft Dear, Peace MOTHER Dear, Peace Everyone: FATHER, I feel to sta.nd on my feet and give YOU Praises. (applause) I want to t h a n k. YOU, FATHEft, a n d MOTHER, for all YOUFt wonderful Children, for YOUR wonderful, big happy great Family! It is so wonderful just to see YOtJ~t Tea~ching expressed in bodies, so many bodies! And I want to thank YOU, thia Pea~ce is not only a salutation — you ~ can feel this Pc~ace, you can feel it and sense it is living; it is a fiving reality here because it is living. I want to thank YOU, FATHER and MOTHEft, for the be~utiful places YOU have here in the area of Philadelphia. (applause) And so we have a wonderful opportunity to gather at these places where we ate independent ; we do not have to rent rooma to be allowed to be there for a certain time but we CaA tneet and tlAite Wbenp:°vv er tbe SpiTit moves us to do so. And I thank YOU, FATHER, as MOTHER said here the other day, we are living in a new world — it is another world — it is truly, truly Wonderful! Thank YOU, FATHER, that YOU could gather such a great number of bodies to establish YOUR Teaching and YOUR Will and YOUR Peace in this mortal world. It is something to consider, when you think that within this worid it is just possible for the mortal world, for all the big higher-ups, the big people, to get in and to try to influence the Peace Niission Movement by their weatth! — and so I think it is just like in the world of science—we know that the atom, or the nucleus of the atom is the most ~aowerful thing in the world, and so this Peace Mission Movement, and with it established here in Philadelphia, is the most powerful power of all the world. (applause) It is truly to be compared with the nucleus of the atom, and no power of the world is able to destroy it! It is just a little sample, and it is a wonderful sample and example of the new worid — how it shall be one day all over this wide extended plane. And I thank FATHER to read right now a few of HIS Words — it is from a place card. Mr. Ammann read FATHER'S Words from the place booklet received by ea.ch person at the Divine Lorraine in the Penthouse Dining Hall which contains words from the national dceuments, statesmen of the pa.4t and FATHER DIVINE, under specific headings described in the booklet as "Truths that formalated America, and, if acted upon, will perpetuate this nation." FATHER says here: "I have chosen from every lan~uage, tongue and people, spiritual pioneers to enter into the world of the future that is presently established under the Jurisdiction of My Spirit — a world of Unity and Peace —that they may search the land and convey to an unbelieving and stiff-necked people, the reality of these blessings, spiritually and physically. I have made you rulers of your own passions that you may be qualified to speak with authority of the blessing~ Virtue produces." Mr. Ammann then said : I thank YOU FATHER for these beautiful Words. (applause) Thank YOU FATHER for be~. ing. determined and not to get lukewarm ; to be determined to go on with FATHER a n d MOTHER! (thunderous applause and cheers) And I would like to close with the wonderful song you have: (he sings and all join in) I am determined to hold out to the end, FATHER, is with me, on HIM I can depend, I know I have Salvation, I feel it in my sou1, I am determined to hold out to the end ! Miss E. Ferne: Peace FATHER Dear~ Peace MOTHER Dear, Peace Everyone : I j ust wanted to verify what the brother said. It stirred that little nucleus in me that is one with all of the bits of Christ that have been brought into bodies that are working aat their own soul's saivation, and it is glorious to know that FATHER has this Seed Idea in bodiea all over the earth and it i g cominR up here and there. It is the thing t~at is causing the consciousness of humanity to change. Thia is what is going to change the world — the consciousness of humanity is going to be raised by~ this great leveling off of the ~reat and the small, the rich and the poor, of the intelligent and the ignorant. All men are beginning to see that one man is not different fmm another man, only in that he ailows the Christ to express in him ; there is no other difference. If you cannot allow the Christ to grow and unfold in you, you are only so much dust; but if you can allow the Christ to unfold in you, you are priceless in GOD's sight. And it is a wonderful blessin~ to be where GOD has planted this .Seed in so many bodies; where HE is manifestin~ the Abundance of the fulness: where HE has established ~uch a pure and a holy Atmosphere; where life itself is valued for the quality and not for the quantity that it expresses. The qu~~lity of the Life that FATHER has bmught farth in u g i~ what we treasure, nat the quantity, and we musi never forget that essentially this is a spiritual life! Even though we have everythin~;, we arE expressing in physical bodieti, we are enjoying the abundance of material love and blessings. but we are essentially spiritual creatures and wE must live by spirituat laws that govern out bodies. (applause) It is glorious to -know that we have the privilege to unfold hour by hour, day by day and year by year into this beautifu] consciousness. When GOD made man HE planted this beautifvl dormant Seed in the heart of man for him to work out, that It might come forth xnd overshadow all the physical, a~l the mental, and express Itseff in all of Its beauty. There is nothing so beautiful as the Christ in a body ; there ig nothing so rich and so pleasurable as seeing the self fatting away and the Christ rise in anybody, 1 don't care who it is, what color it is, what size it is, what shape it is, it is utterly beautiful ! And when FATHER brought us the mystery of bringing the Christ to fruition, HE bmught us the greatest ~ift that HE could give us, outside of bringing HIS Own Body, because it took HIS BO~JY to reveal to us that HE lives in us. Until HE turned over in us and stirred our vision and gave us a vision of a greater Life, we were as though we were dead. But this is Life — this Seed Idea — the Hope of Christ in you is the hope of Glory ! FATHER ~aid this is the greatest mystery that HE has b~rought to mankind. FATHER Dear, it is beautiful to live in this age when we know that a spiritual civilization i~ unfoiding on every side; in government, in education, in the social fabric and the industrial fabric of the world we see a change coming, and it is coming in the consciousness uf the people. FATHER, is turning the people against materialism. I reatly believe that they are getting enough of the material and they are still unsatisfied, therefore where must they go when they have all they can e~.t, drink, wear and they are still unhappy? — where is there to go? Only to GOD. There is nothing else left! So we know that this is FATHER'S Work, to satiate the people and let them know that they need HIM, because HE is the breath~ the life, the hope, the vision of the whole warld, and to have this vision of a new world is a glorious pc~. ~sai~n ! JULY 4~TAMP ISSUE TO MARK NATION'S BIRTHDAY May 29th, 1976 A. D. F. D. The ?~"E~Y DAY 23 [ enj~yed w-hat the brother ~aid because it showed that just like he and we are, there are millions of others th~it have a hope that has been born. That is what gave birth to this nation, was that desire for liberty, and the desire for liberty gave birth to Christ, because without this liberty Christ cannot come to fruition. They gave their lives and now the same spirits in bodies are giving lives again, that this might be brought forth in a more spiritual way. VVhen they signed the Declaration of Independence it cauaed a revolutionary war to come, and FATHER said when you take a stand against the "other fellow", that's it! — then he rises against you ! When you give GOD all the creclit and take a stand for GOD against the "other fellow", then all things rise against you. That is why we. must fight against being lukewarm ; against the "other fellow's" last weapon. There is a Gaying, an old adage that says, when the "other fellow" can't get you any other way he can get you through disappointment or through discoura~ement. It's a little wedge that he will hammer on and hammer on and hammer on and you will listen, because you don't think it's a sin; but it ie a sin because it undermines your faith !(applause sanctions this) In one 1Viessage many years ago FATHER told the story about a man that Jesus had healed, and FATHER said when Jesus said to the man, "Go in peace and sin no more," FATHER said, "I did not tell him then, to sin no more and not lose the faith, because his sin was, losing the faith!" HE said, "I did not tell him that, but that's what I meant." When Jesus said, "Go in pea.ce and sin no more," He meant, to sin no more by losing the faith. And it is wonderful for us to know that doubts and fears, are losing the faith and are a sin. Discouragement is a sin, and we have to fight it when we see it coming on the farthest horizon and start praising GOD as fast as we can, because it will whip it down every time. It will whip it down; it cannot live where there is love and praises and unity ; but you have to work on it! Great men have gone through. school and have ~iven their lives and their fortunes to get a plain little old man's degree, and some of us sit around here and we won't even do our homework to get the P.R.G. degree — the PURGE Degree! — but this is what we have to have. FATHER cannot give us power unti( we are cleansed and purged, and this is the process we are all going through. We should be glad that we have been purged and are being purged! And I think of ail the money, alt the effort, all the sacrifice that goes into man's mortal education. Some people give all they have for a little degree. How much we should give and be willing to put forth for this victory in the Christ. Consciousness, this victory over everything that life can throw up against uS! It is internal, and when we get it, nothing, no one, no circumstance, time or thing, can take it away from us! (applause) It is a wonderful blessing to live in this attitude and hold it day by day. In 1934 FATHER said in the World Echo, it was printed in the World Echo, HE gave us a recitation to say for our own good and this is what HE said : As I think ariii feel and speak and act, So I am using my Divine Creative Power To produce more feeling, speech, action and~ experience OF THE SAME KIND in myself and others. 1. This is the perfect law of liberty, health, wealth and peace. 2. I have heard and I rejoice 3. It is written in my heart 4. I witl never forget it. 5. I will remember it forever and do it. 6. And you shail be blessed in your doing. 7. I place myself under Divine I,~w 8. I accept its pawer with praise. 9. I accept its privileges with joy 10. I accept its responsibilities with Divine fearlessness. 11. No person, thing or condition has power to make or keep me weak, or ignorant, or unhappy. 12. I am the lawmaker of my own life. 13. I am the builder of my own conditions. 14. I am the way to all that I desire. 15. I hold no one responsible for my own eondition except myseif. 16. Therefore today, and from toda~ on, I will blame no one, not even myself, but will build for Health, Wealth, and Joy by practicing there is one Presence and One Power. 17. The Good Almighty, Omnipresent and Eternal. 18. I renounce the past and all its negative influences. 19. By my active use of the Divine Power with- ' in me, I will overcome all my personal resistance, wea.kness and self-pity 20. I live this day for my own freedom, for the ~lory of God, and for the bringing of His Kingdam into earth. 21. I depend upon God and God only for my life and my living. (Published under title: THE LAW By FATHE~t DIVINE, World Echo, March 31, 1934 A.D.F.D., p. 3) ~ Miss Ferne: This was given to us for us to build up the Christ within us and talce a sta.nd with HIM. Thank YOU FATHER and MOTHER. One of the most hiatoric moments in American history, th~ approval of The Declaration of Independence by th~ Continent~l Congress on July 4, 1776, will be commemorated by the issuance of a strip of fou~r 13-cent stamps in Philadelphia on July 4, the U.S. Postal Service announced. The four stamps in the strip fo~m a design entity and reproduce John Trumbull's famous pain~ing, "The Declaration of Independence." The Trumbull painting, executed between 1786 and 1797, contains accurate portraits of-48 of the 56 persons associated with the signing of the Declaration. A replica of the pa~nting, executed in 1818, hangs in the Rotunda .of the U.S. Ca ' mail users, the July 4 issue is expected to be of interest to millions of others because it provides an opportunity to obtain an inexpensive memento of the nation's 200th birthday. I1. F'. f). ~~ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Z For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free f rom the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it w~s weak through the $esh, God sending his own Son in the like~ ness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the $esh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the fl~sh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ~ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not sub ject ta the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. g But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. i o And if Christ be in you; the body is dead beEause of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. I I But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead 'dwell in you, he that raised up Christ f rom the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. I2 Therefore, brethen, we are debtors, not to the flesh, .~o live after the flesh. i~~or if ye live af ter the flesh, ye shall die : but if ye through the Spirit do mortif y the deeds of the body, ye shall live. i q, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are ~the sons of God. i 5 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. i 6 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that w~ are the children of God : i ~ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. ~ i 8 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth tor the manifestation of the sons of God. z o For the creature was made sub ject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath sub jected the same in hope, a i Because the creature itself also shall be delivered i tom the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 2 Z For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have thf firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoprion, to wit, the redemption of our body. zq, For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is no~ hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we witr parience wait for it. z6 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: fo~ we know not what we should pray for as we ought: bu~ the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning: which cannot be attered. Z~ And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what i; the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession fo~ the saints according to the will of God. z8 And we know that all things work together for gooc to them that love God, to them who are the called accordinf to his purpose. 2g For whom he did foreknow, he also did predesrinat~ to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might b~ the firstborn among many brethen. 30 1Vloreover whom he did predestinate, them he alsc called: and whom he called, them he also justified: anc whom he justified, them he also glorified. 3 i What shall we then say to these thing ? If God b~ for us, who can be against us? 3 z He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him u~ for ns all, how shall he not with him also freely give u all things? 3 3~o shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect ~ It is God that justifieth. 34 ~o is he that condemneth? It is C~irist that died yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right han~ of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 ~o shall separate us from the Iove of Christ? shai tribularion, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or naked ness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the da long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 3 ~ Nay, in all these things we are more than conqueror through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, no. angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shal be able to s~parate us from the love of God, which is u Christ Jesus oor Lord. How To Dress Up Scrambled Eggs Every hostess likes to depend on foods that taste good, look appealing and are as easy to prepare as frozen concentrated orangejuice. Often she looks to a favorite dish that comes to the table all dressed up. For a company breakfast or fun brunch, the clever cook turns to the scrambled eggs everyones loves but she brings them to center stage in a baked pie shell, topped with sausage, all dressed up. Ordinarily, she wouldn't have time to mix up and roll out the pastry since breakfast is a morning meal and every miriute counts; but now, she can count on an already prepared frozen pie shell, as good as her own and certainly time saving. She cooks the eggs, green pepper and onion in a skillet with seasonings as the pie shell bakes easily in the oven. ' Just before serving, our cool cook mounds the eggs in the hot pie shell and garnishes the tempting offering with whatever she likes such as eooked sausage links, shredded cheese or bacon bits. With orange juice, sweet rolls and plenty of fresh hot coffee, wedges of company scrambled eggs are delicious, delightful and delectable — any time of the year. That's the conclusion of University of Chicago researchers David Wiley and Annegret Harnischfeger who conducted a four-month study to determine reasons for the decline. One solution the city fathers found way, in the language of the day, to "hock the gas works." On May 12, City Solicitor Joaepb Sharfsin and Councilman (latex to become mayor) I~ernard Samuel, went to Washington and laid the gas works plan before Jesse Jones, the crusty and redaubtable chairman of the now-defunct Reconstruction Finance Corp (RFC). On May 13, exactly 37 years ago Sharfsin reported on the Washington conference to the then Mayor S. Davis Wilson. Sharfsin thought Jesae Jonea would go along. He did. On July 12 the board of the RFC agreed to buy half of the city's $41-mi1- lion gas plant rental certificates, and the way wa.g paved for adoption of a :~112-million city-county budget, which had been overdue since the previous December. Today Philadelphia is facing a$100- million deficit and one of the plans under consideration is to seek ~ lien againat revenues of ti~e Philadelphia Ga.9 Works. The 37-year-old maneuver would be combined with various other fiscal mea, sures. ' The city now receives $15.5 million annually from the Gas Works. These revenue9 already have been pledged against $35 million in gas revenue bonds to be used in construction of a new synt}ietic natural gae plant. City Controller William G. Klenk, chairman of the Ga.g Works, is opposed to the scheme ~because of the risk and the prior obligation. But Finance Director Lennox L. Moak believes the banks will buy the offer—this will involve the banks, there's no RFC any more,—~despite the prior pledge. Moak didn't specify the amount of the loan being considered, but sources say it is likely to be no more than $50 million, or half the total revenue gap. In a replay of of the 1939 scenario, Sharfsin, now a Philadelphia lawyer in private practice but still concerned with the city's problems, went before City Council last month and told about how it was done 37 years ago. "In the year 1939," the veteran Sharfsin told the councilmen, "the city was in a serious economic depression. "It had incurred a deficit of over $40 million, and any program for increasing the real estate tax rate would also have been destructive and counter-productive. "At that time the city wa.s receiving only $4,200,000 annually from the gas works operation. A program was devised to meet the deficit without imposing on the taxpayer in one year the heavy burden of a large real estate tax increase." A band of gatriots starmed a British- held fort in New Hampshire—~apturing vital gunpowder, mnsket~4 and cannon. And in an astounding coincidence, it was startling news from Paul Revere that spurred the Americans into action. The reno~vvned messenger r a c e d through the streeta of Portsmauth on Dec. 13, 1774 (his famaus "midnight ride" was in April 1775) to warn the colonists that the King had just forbidden exports of gunpowder to America The patriots re~lized that both weapons and ammunition would soon be in short supply. Sa they decided to attack Fort William and Mary at the entrance af Portsmouth haarbor and seize the arsenal., The British had conaidered the fort practically worthleas—and its entire garrison consisted of a captain and five soldiers. Abou t 400 A mericans marched on the fort on December 14. The captain warned them not to enter, the colonis s ep moving ahead—and the tiny British garrison opened fire with cannon and muskets. None of the attackers was hit, hawever, and they quickly overcame their feeble opposition. The patriots pulled down the British flag and made off with 100 barrels of gunpowder. They returned the next day—and this time "seized 16 pieces of cannon," 60 muskets and other military supplies. The colonists were planning to come back for the heavy cannon when British reinforcements finally arrived and ended the attacks. Just how the colonists used the armaments is unknown, although legend has it that some of the gunpowder played a vital role~ in the Battle of Bunker Hill. The weapons may well have meant the differen~ce be~tween victory and defeat for the patriots in the early battles of the Keva lution.
