This profound Office Talk came forth volitionally shortly after one of the secretaries read the following clipping from the Philadelphia Inquirer, dated Friday morning, November 23, 1951, which pointed out, as FATHER has said, "The sky is nowhere and is nothing, but is everywhere, where there is nothing!" The clipping is as follows:
Science, Religion Agree, Pope Says
Vatican City, Nov. 22 – Pope Pius today strongly supported scientific estimates that the universe is billions of years old and said science, far from conflicting with religion, actually has proved the very existence of GOD.
The Pope said many modern scientists had reached the "extreme limit toward which human reason can attain," namely, "the knowledge of GOD as sole creator."
Some theologians have stated, on the basis of their own interpretation of the Old Testament, that the age of the world and the universe are measured in terms of thousands of years.
Addresses Scientists
But the Pope, addressing the Pontifical Academy of Science, described as "well founded" the conclusions of modern science that the age is more than five billion or more years.
A high Vatican source, emphasizing the importance of the Pope's statements, said:
"It can be said that this is the first time that the authority of the Catholic Church has entered into the question of the age of the universe, confirming that there is no incompatibility between science and the Old Testament."
The Pope said the importance of scientific research lay in the detailed study of the universe and the things within it, "from which it concludes to the existence of an entity within itself."
Pointed to Beginning
"It (science) has, besides, followed the course and the direction of cosmic developments," he went on, "and just as it was able to get a glimpse of the term toward which these developments were leading, also pointed to their beginning in time some 5,000,000,000 years ago.
"Thus, with that concreteness which is characteristic of physical proof, it has confirmed the contingency of the universe and the well founded deduction as to the epoch when the cosmos came forth from the hands of the Creator.
"Hence, creation took place in time. Therefore, there is a Creator. Therefore, GOD exists. Although it is neither explicit nor concrete, this is the reply we were awaiting from science.
"The knowledge as sole Creator, now shared by many modern scientists, is indeed the extreme limit to which human reason can attain."
(At the conclusion, FATHER speaks as follows:)
Just think of light coming forth into expression at the minimum rate of speed – at one hundred and eighty-six thousand miles per second. Then I said, "Let dry land appear." That is materializing spiritual things and spiritualizing material things and from that light and this Mind, came forth the materialization of the earth, but the earth and the water having atoms that have not been discerned. If they were cracked and could be used effectively, universally, it would be unimaginable! So it is wonderful!
Secretary: It is wonderful! President Truman said he hoped that the atomic bomb would bring something forth constructively instead of just being used for war.
FATHER and MOTHER DIVINE with some of the Secretaries
FATHER: Yes, that is according to the constructiveness and the instructiveness of the conscious mentality, the atomic and hydrogen energy will be put forth into expression to that end, but it cannot, only as the conscious mentality advances into scientific discovery and understanding to bring it into action! As I said, "Let dry land appear." and the earth was as is. So, "Let there be light," and there was light that came forth into expression! And the Consciousness of GOD'S Presence, that is the Keynote to solve all of the problems! The Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the Source of all Supply, because such a Consciousness will speak into action and into outer expression, will speak into materialization the things that were non-material, or invisible! Therefore, the things that were intangible and invisible, they are made visible – tangible by the Consciousness of GOD'S Presence!
Because the Consciousness of GOD'S Presence is automatically creative, therefore, that Consciousness will create automatically. The earth itself, as being termed, "Mother Earth", that gives birth to such consciousness in various degrees universally, wheresoever the earth is and puts forth something of the manner of its own kind where there is no seed, and yet it will bring forth automatically, because Mother Earth gives birth to that which is conceived in her by the consciousness of GOD'S Presence. It is operative and expressive!
So the truth is expanding universally. (At this point one of the secretaries came in, and FATHER continued speaking.) What we were talking about, Miss M., that started this especially, was the article, "Science And Religion Agree." Where religion has striven to keep science out of the consciousness of the recognition of the people, it is coming into consciousness that that which is scientific is in keeping with that which is religious!
Secretary (reading): "Hence, Creation took place in time. Therefore, there is a Creator. Therefore, GOD exists. FATHER: It is wonderful! That is why they are all coming from far and near just to contact ME; but they don't have to come to ME! They don't have to come to ME! I don't have to go to them! I AM All Omniscience! I AM All Omniscient, whichever, and I do not have to go to them and they do not have to come to ME! But for the lack of the Consciousness of
GOD'S Actual Presence, they do not know that in this room right now, there is plenty of wind! Just put it into operation right where you sit, then you will find wind blowing so, it will almost blow you off your seat!
Secretary: I thought of how primitive we are now in the years of YOUR Administration. We don't know how many atoms the earth holds!
FATHER: It is true.
Secretary: It is just wonderful how people are catching Your Mind!
FATHER: It is just marvelous, because I said, "Let there be light" universally.
Another Secretary: You know they have been reading Your Messages! I know they have been studying them!
FATHER: Even if they don't study them, I AM here; I AM there! That is the Mystery of MY Ever and Omnipresence! So it is wonderful!
MOTHER DIVINE: FATHER, they are acknowledging here, that Creation came about in time. Religion always said that when the earth was created, it just came forth like – over night, but science always said that the earth was created over a period of time.
FATHER: It is so wonderful! You must know it is just like the wind! I AM Everpresent and I AM Omnipresent and I AM closer than hands and feet! I AM closer than breathing! That is the significance of the Mystery! And when that is Universally established everything will be here and now, and not necessarily anywhere, but everywhere where there is here and where there is there! They say that they (religion) have been losing out by rising in opposition to science.
Secretary: It is true.
Another Secretary: It seems just like it is a sentence taken from Your Message; and talking about the Old Testament like that and comparing it!
Secretary: That is why people have been so backward.
FATHER: They said I came fifty years ahead of time, and if you make the comparison as to the mortal version as to what you all have heard from time to time – about fifty years back . . . things being fulfilled, you can see now as if it was fifty years ahead of time. It was for it to come into being in fifty years from then. It is time now for it to come into being universally!
Secretary: That is why YOU say, a few more risings and settings of the sun and the whole world will know YOU!
FATHER: It is wonderful! Right here, right here the Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the Source! It is right here! And in that wind even, it is unimaginable! It is not yet discerned, but there are also atoms in the wind as well as in the water and in the earth or in the mineral kingdom; those atoms are to be cracked and energy put forth into expression! But the emotions being unintelligent, it is the Omniscient that is Everpresent, to put into operation the emotions and cause it to express intelligently.
Secretary: It is wonderful!
FATHER: Like a Bishop just a couple of years ago; he wanted to debate with ME, but his secretary said he agrees with me now. You see, that is a point (Oh, it is marvelous) I brought up and have been publishing those back sermons, I mean from years back, because a good many people say that "FATHER DIVINE doesn't believe in the Bible, and HE doesn't do this, that and the other, and HE says HE is GOD; HE is all there is". Well, when you take those old messages, and coming back, well, you can see that I AM more Universal and Impersonal than anybody else!
You can see how I put off MY Body, the Impersonality and Unindividuality of MYSELF such as people did not know! I mean intelligent people don't know anything about there was an impersonality and unindividuality of themselves! They thought the personality was great and the Spirit it or soul was something, but they did not know that the impersonality, that something that is to the extreme reverse of that of the personal, and the extreme reverse to that of the individual! Now they have been studying ME in all of the colleges and they are obliged to come to ME!
Secretary: I thought about that bishop, where YOU said YOU didn't have anything to argue about when he wanted to debate with YOU.
FATHER: No, I didn't have anything to argue about. It tickled ME. It was something like Mr. Acheson: Mr. Truman said he wasn't studying about what people said about he (Mr. Acheson) being a Communist, and now, – he has stopped every dog from barking! Now the critics can see, just as science and religion are unified or are in unison, even as science and religion are in harmony, so are religion and politics! You see Americanism is our religion and that, the political religion of the world is what?
Secretary: "Let reverence for the Law and the Constitution be the political Religion of the Nation!"
FATHER: Well now, you can plainly see that to us, we are the only fulfillers of that reverence for the Law and the Constitution which have become to be the real religion – our religion! Americanism is our religion

So you see we are the fulfillers of the Doctrine of Americanism. And what did I say – the point I brought out through Reverend Joseph S.
Wright?
MOTHER DIVINE: "Americanism is the Kingdom of GOD!"
(At this point there is a slight digression and another subject is discussed, and then the stenographer commenced writing at this point.)
FATHER: Someone said you can't make a noise. You can't make a sound.
Secretary: Yes, they said "Sound is".
FATHER: Yes, and according to the advanced scientific science of mathematics, it shows, that if you cannot make a sound, if you cannot make a noise anywhere in the universe, or think something is making a noise and you hear it because it is there, and you see you have just got in the consciousness to receive it, GOD is Present Everywhere! That is what I brought out in the Mystery!
Secretaries: It is wonderful!
FATHER: That was an established fact handed down from the Catholic Church and through Judaism, that it was four thousand and four years B. J., GOD Created the heaven and he earth, and all things in them. And so you see, it is just marvelous to see how this Light is going forth, the Light of this Truth is going forth! "Let there be light and there was light!" It is wonderful!

One hundred and eighty-six thousand miles per second, being the minimum rate of light speed, therefore, so many light years away from here, passing through the solar system and circumferencing all of the universe universally, even though you do have some traveling to do to circumference all of the universes and all of the systems as that of the solar system and observe the Mystery of the infiniteness of space – beyond the comprehension of your fondest imaginations! It is something to consider. Then you can see the nothingness of individuals and the universality and the Infiniteness of the Impersonality and the Unindividuality of the ALMIGHTY, and of yourself and everything else! I think I had better stop!
Secretaries: That is beautiful FATHER.
Another Secretary: An astronomer told the people, that looking through a telescope at the stars, that they are just seeing them at the time the light is reaching them, although they are millions of years old, or words to that effect.
Secretary: They say it is about thirty-three thousand light years through the Milky Way.
FATHER: Sure, then to circumference the Milky Way. It is wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! I was talking on that subject just before Bishop Sims came that time and it was uppermostly in the atmosphere.
Secretary: Yes, and he took it right up too, didn't he?
FATHER: Yes, he took it up.
Secretary: They see it is no heaven beyond that!
FATHER: Well that is the point to be seen and known, when I have declared, "The sky is nowhere and is nothing, according to science, but everywhere where there is nothing!"
Secretary: When they find that out, they will know there is no place to go! When the Pope recognizes that, that will be the end!
FATHER: I had shown John the Mystery in his revelationic prediction. It is wonderful! He saw it passing away, working cancellation not only on the materialization, but even on the imagination of that invisible, imaginary heaven far above the sky, which was and which is the first heaven and the first earth. I see it passing away! That will bring you in fellowship with a consciousness that is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent! And that consciousness must be the Cracker and the Splitter of all atoms! I thank you.
