MOTHER DIVINE at Sayville, New York
A very significant Message had been given by FATHER shortly before the Lecture herein recorded was eagerly received by the large audience.
In this vital Message FATHER explains to the universe at large HIS as well as a number of HIS Followers', Believers' and Friends' viewpoints concerning donating money to the Red Cross. Herein is also revealed to the public how the Red Cross at least, some of its officials, although this institution is supposed to be supported solely by voluntary contributions, have used coercion and even threats upon the general public to obtain money for what they term the aid of all people regardless to race, creed and color. Such methods were tried on some of the Followers, and our Beloved SAVIOR in this marvelous Message reveals the thoughts and feelings of thousands and thousands of HIS Followers and others concerning such incidents of coercion and threat, for our LORD is indeed the Thermometer of the hearts and minds of the True and Faithful and speaks the contents' of their sincere emotions, thoughts, ideas and opinions.

PEACE, EVERYONE: I Was just thinking of what it has been said: that some of the representatives of the Red Cross have been around and some few have pretentiously made threats as if though you are obliged to contribute to the Red Cross. That which you are required to do by the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in you, what you are led to do, you are free to do it by being governed by your highest intuition. But, as I said some time ago, when the Red Cross refused the blood of some, there will be many who have money and will refuse to give their money to the Red Cross. That is their business; I AM not telling them not to do it, not to give it, but I AM saying what I know as a Thermometer of Life, registering the minds and the life of the children of men, as I know whereof I speak, for I register them and I have the scale to weigh everything on the Scale of Justice. I know their thoughts, I know their minds and I know their ideas and opinions.
Nevertheless, those of MY Followers as a rule, they ignore anything that would even lead them resentfully or to do anything through strife, or refuse to do anything because of strife or envy; but there are thousands of others who would not because of such. And on the other hand, there are those of MY Followers, they are giving to humanity daily and hourly when they are trying to change men from vice and crime, dishonesty and incompetence and debauchery of every kind.
As I say, "One percent of a fraction of a grain of PREVENTION is worth millions and millions and billions of tons of cure!" And I have explained it to you so you can see it definitely. You are doing a greater work and a better work to overcome all selfishness and greed and graft and racketeering from the within and then within others with whom you come in contact than if you would give a MILLION DOLLARS to some person to try to cure the disease and the affliction of the inhuman warfare after it has destroyed and maimed millions of casualties!
GOD is giving you something and has given you something to prevent such. Therefore, if you live the Life and do the right thing which you are daily doing, feeding thousands and thousands of people throughout the Promised Land and millions and millions throughout the land and country for only fifteen cents—sacrificing your labor and your service for the benefit of others—for you are running business in places that are unprofitable on nonprofit basis; hence, you are doing it for the sake of RIGHTEOUSNESS and for the BENEFIT of HUMANITY!
Hence, you are giving and you are daily giving when you are giving a meal for FIFTEEN CENTS when others would charge from SIXTY to SEVENTYFIVE CENTS. You are daily giving when you are paying your debts—going back, paying all old, back bills you once owed. You are giving and contributing all of your earnings daily when you are doing those things, and then paying CASH as you go owing no man, and refusing to buy anything on CREDIT or on the INSTALLMENT PLAN; you are giving to the poor you are giving to the needy, you are giving to those who can and will receive it!
All of your gas stations, all of your grocery stores and all of your places of business, you are giving to the general public, to those who need it, and giving heavily for you are giving all of the would be profits you would gain if you were racketeers and profiteers as a good many of the others are in the business world.
Think of selling gas at only one cent profit on the gallon when others are making or earning as much as four and five cents on the gallon! Groceries equivalently the same, even until the grocery dealers and bakeries refuse to sell the Followers bread for the public, a good many of them, because of the low prices they are selling merchandise at to reach the suffering, the poor and the needy and to help humanity generally!
These thoughts are well worth considering and they just as well to take cognizance of it and consider what you are doing. It is Wonderful! But to make any threats .about they reporting it if you don't give to the Red Cross and they will report you to the mayor and then the mayor will report you to Albany and then Albany will report you to Washington and all such foolishness as that, we don't take cognizance of that! We don't bother about it!' We are daily giving to humanity and to UNCLE SAM the substance of our sustenance for the benefit of humanity generally and we are willingly and voluntarily doing it!
When I here in this county came and desired to cause MY Followers, Believers, Friends and others who may sojourn in these borders to spend millions and millions of dollars—others in these different communities and some of the authorities tried to prevent them from doing it! When I desired them to release their monies in this country and spend their money in their respective communities, PAY CASH for every thing and buy nothing on the installment plan, invest your monies in real property, something that is stable, something that is lasting in your own communities, improve your properties and advance and develop them, increase the produce of your farms and increase in business, profession, labOr and trade, they tried to prohibit it! Had they not been in opposition to MY Teaching, MY Work and MY Mission, I know there would have been millions of dollars spent right here in Ulster County where it has not been spent!
There are those of MY Followers, Friends and others who harmonize with ME, would have spent MILLIONS of DOLLARS improving and developing the land, and even buying more and more right here in this county, and would have had accommodation in this community in and at the time of this emergency to care for at least TEN THOUSAND besides those of MY Followers !
By MY Instruction they were preparing for it, and as they went about to do it, in some of the places the assessors tried to get to the Followers by over assessing the value of the property to prohibit them from doing it! Of course, a good many of them did not do or continue to invest their money where they would have to be penalized for trying to help the community!
In Greenkill Park, had they not over assessed Greenkill Park and tried to make the Followers, as being termed ME—they said "FATHER DIVINE'S place"—pay more taxes than what they should have paid, no doubt they would have built about a TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR HOTEL there where the other one was burned down! And throughout this country they would have spent thousands and even millions of dollars, no doubt, even in this community, had they not been prevented by Opposition; and then some have the audacity to come, saying, if you fail to fill out the cards and give contribution to the Red Cross, what they will do in the act of reporting you!
If you desire to give anything it is your privilege to do it for the cause. Even if all of the money does not go where it should go, if you give it with a good heart and good faith, desiring it to go where it should go, you will not lose your reward by giving if you desire to do so, if you have any to give. But I know the majority of you have and are consuming as far as what you take in or what you earn in the investment of what little you do take in, in return for supplies to replenish the supplies that are consumed, and to pay your taxes and keep your places improved.
Nevertheless, when and where you can do anything, it is your privilege to do it and do it voluntarily if the Spirit leads you to do it; but you are doing it daily, not just once a year or at the time of this emergency!
You desire to plant and produce in the Abundance of the Fullness according to MY Instruction, MASS PRODUCTION. But a few years ago they tried to prohibit you from doing it. But, however, you can rejoice now! Something has brought them to it! Now you know they all—I mean, they want you all to produce as much as you can of everything in the line of foodstuff and natural supplies, for the national and natural resources of this democracy are the great DEFENSE of the nation against the enemy!
Then I say, the more you produce, each of you, and the more you multiply foodstuff and supplies for the comfort and convenience and for the benefit of the nation, you are safeguarding against the outside invaders and you are protecting yourself and other nations against starvation! Therefore, continue to INCREASE and MULTIPLY and PRODUCE in the ABUNDANCE of everything you do, and fulfil MY PLAN and PURPOSE!
MASS PRODUCTION instead of MASS DESTRUCTION now is endorsable by the government and none will try to prevent it. You can have free access to do it; you need not fear; while a few years ago they sent out different literature, "You are only to plant so much and so much," and if you wanted to plant a little more than what they wanted you to plant, you were afraid you would be arrested and would be sent to jail for doing it! Now this ban has been lifted. You have a NEW BIRTH of FREE DOM! GOD ALONE HAS GIVEN IT! I thank you!
