FATHER'S Message at the New Paltz Extension the Promised Land
Sunday, January 8th, 1939 A.D.F.D. Time: 3:55 P. M.

Through HIS never-dying Love for HIS Children, FATHER in HIS Tender Mercy and Compassion, delivered this beautiful, instructive Message to the angels during the regular course of the morning banquet, at the beautiful New Paltz Extension in the Promised Land. From this significant Message, we all know definitely from now on, that if we hold back, or if we keep the slightest thought that would tend to stress our minds, from HIM WHO knows the secrets of all hearts, we will be severed from HIM mentally, spiritually and even personally; therefore it is essential to let nothing between your soul and your Savior. Merciful Savior, we thank YOU.

(The foregoing statement is that of the transcriber, and the following is FATHER'S song and Message.)

An open confession is good for the soul,
Good for the soul, good for the soul.
An open confession is good for the soul,
The half has never yet been told.

Peace, Everyone!

That little transposition; in other words, that little trans-composition I brought out to your consideration as a message to convey to others, even as I convey it to you directly, those of you who are now MY hearers, an open confession is good for the soul. We often say confession is the essential. It is not at all times especially urgent—necessary to make a public confession, but an open confession is good for the soul.

You can make an open confession by confessing directly, openly to GOD and refusing to confess it and merely confess it in secrecy. You can tell GOD anything you want to tell HIM in your heart, but an open confession, which is to say, speak it openly, it is good for your soul to do such a thing, while yet a public confession may be essential at times; nevertheless a confession is the great essential. Now do not think you can confess part, and hold back a certain part, and think that that pretentious confession would be sufficient unless you confess the secrecy of your heart, of your soul, and of your mind and all of your physical system, such as you have attempted to hold in secrecy; an open confession is good for the soul.

Some make confessions and confess certain things, and will even name some certain things. That is as it was in Ananias and 111111111 experience. They, having land, sold it as did the other Apostles or Disciples, whichever, and brought the money and laid it at the Apostle's feet; but they brought only part of the money and laid it at the Apostle's feet. They did not bring it all according to the plan and purpose at that particular time. That was finances from a financial point of view. Confession may be considered as the reality of the significance of that particular unfoldment for you.

What You Conceal May Kill You

If you bring part of your confession to the service and keep back a part of it, especially the sense of it, and will conceal it and try to keep from exposing it, why then, it is just like you have a carbuncle. If you do not get the core out of it, it will hurt again, will it not? It isn't so good. You may cure it up on the outside, but still on the inside, it still will be annoying you, and first thing you know, it may beak out in some other place and may be worse in last state than it was in the first. So these thoughts are well worth considering.

A carbuncle or any kind of a boil, or sore you may have, and you do not get the core out of it, but if you squeeze it enough, although it may hurt for a little while, that would get all of the core out of it, so it cannot come back again. That is the mystery! So it is essential to make an open confession and confess that thing you do not want to tell. Because you do not want to tell it, that is the thing that is going to kill you unless you do tell it. If you do not want to tell it publicly, you may tell it openly to ME or to someone, that it might be known somewhere and somehow.

As one said the other day, when you are drifting away from GOD, you like to make your confession to everybody else but GOD. You like to confess to other folks and other folks like to hear you tell all about your dirt and sins. Many times a mortal mind desires to set themselves up in bodies and get you to confess to them. That is what they started doing from time to time at different places. "You all got to confess your sins now; come on in here now." Get up and confess at the table to one another, and at times there are some there who have something they want to tell the other one,—something—and they want to say that isn't that, or they said that, or something of that sort, but they are merely repeating what they had thought, and reiterating, rehearsing what they had said and planned.

You Must Expose What You Do Not Want To

So you want to make a confession, it is true, but you want to confess it with the spirit of sincerity, and be conscientious in all you say and do, and make a confession, and make your requests known to GOD. Confessing and forsaking your sins is the great essential, but your confession must be made with the spirit of sincerity and you must expose that which you do not want to expose, for it shall expose you unless you do. I thank you.

So long as you find yourselves always in agony, in misery, got to be worrying and asking ME to forgive you for your sins, you must not have confessed them all, for when you confess them and forsake them, you are forgiven. Those that you have confessed and forsaken, you are not held responsible for them unless you have the same old mind, and same old spirit, and same old ideas and opinions; but if you have confessed some and held back some, then you say, "I want YOU to forgive me"—for the same thing again. Why, that has been forgiven if you have confessed it; and if you have confessed all and forsaken, and asked forgiveness, why, then you should consider all are forgiven. You see that is the mystery! But if you have confessed some and held back some, it would not be necessary to go back and confess those again unless you are going to confess the others that you are under condemnation for, for you are not condemned for the sins you have confessed and forsaken—that is, if you have confessed and forsaken them wholeheartedly with the spirit of sincerity.

But when you confess, be sure that you do not keep any back for yourselves, for if you keep some back for yourselves, that sin is going work on you. You better let them all go, whatsoever they are; you better expose them all or get rid of them if you want to be happy, if you want to be peaceful, if you want to be healthy. that is the mystery! And especially, if you desire to live forever and always be with ME. I thank you.
