The one hundred and fiftieth Anniversary of The Bill of Rights was celebrated
on December 15, 1941 by a speech broadcast to the nation by President Roosevelt,
who declared that the first ten Amendments to the Constitution comprised the
fundamental document of freedom for the whole world. It was to this that FATHER
DIVINE referred when HE arose to speak during the midnight banquet on this
occasion. FATHER speaks as follows:
PEACE, EVERYONE!
Here we all are again! In the Unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose to you I come and among you I remain even as I have been.
At this particular instance I have risen to stress in your memory for consideration the significance of the reading of that Message as given and the letter to the President Roosevelt as read. These thoughts are well worth considering when you retrace your thoughts back to the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary backwards, from the present back to the time that this day as a memorial has been set apart for the present as a representation of Bill of Rights Day.
I AM sure those of you who know, do not imagine, but you realize, I have resurrected the Spirit of Americanism in the hearts and lives of millions such as no statesman has ever done. In the preaching of the Constitution and its Amendments with the Declaration of Independence by the actuated words of expression, through this great conversion millions have been actually converted into true Americanism who are actually expressing their real Independence; no longer suppositionally or documentally but in reality, characteristically and individually, as our country declared it as a nation. Aren't you glad?
I know the officials and representatives and divers executives of our Democracy do try and desire to ignore your humble Servant, but we have the Bill of Rights once again called to your attention and verified and established by and reestablished by proclamation of our chief executive. This is it by which you and I as persons are protected; therefore, the proclamation that was given by the chief executive for this day to be a memorial of the signing of the Bill of Rights, I have called your attention to same whereby our chief executive by proclamation has untied the voices and the tongues of the children of men. Even though in and at the time of war, you have the right to lift up your voices and declare your Independence and demand the Enactment of the Bill of Rights, according to the proclamation as given by the chief executive. Aren't you glad?
This is not a supposition! Why are you afraid to proclaim the Bill of Rights today as you did yesterday? Aren't you glad, I say? By proclamation the chief executive has freed you for this particular occasion so that you might be free to express your freedom according to the Declaration of Independence and according to the Bill of Rights as he represented it. Aren't you glad?
By this,
'I AM not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth it.'
By proclamation the chief executive brought about the verification of the Bill
of Rights in consideration, that at even this extreme emergency and no longer
merely at the time and in the time of Peace, but at the time and in the time
of war, you must recognize the Bill of Rights and enact it, for the chief executive
has verified it.
We can preach about the Bill of Rights in the time of war as well as in the time of Peace (aren't you glad?), because you have verified it! I mean, our Commander in Chief of the Army and the Navy, in the time of an international war, through the proclamation of a reconsideration and the rejuvenation of the Spirit of the Bill of Rights in the American people, he has given the Spirit of the Bill of Rights its legal freedom by this proclamation. Aren't you glad?
Now we shall talk about the Bill of Rights because he has given us the privilege to do it, just after the great war began, of all nations, with which we are all involved. The Bill of Rights must be considered in this Democracy and we must enact the Bill of Rights in every community and in every activity. Do not merely talk it but live it and demonstrate it as you walk the streets of the City of Brotherly Love.
No doubt as a prediction I speak as a Person. This will be the City for the signing and the setting apart of the recognized Utopian Government, according to the Constitution and its Amendments and according to the Declaration of Independence. This City is a city of cities, representing a State of states, and very historical to be stressfully considered. Many events that have been in the founding of this Democracy documentally shall be the reiteration of the Perfection of this new Government, a more perfect form of government and a more perfect union under the Constitution and its Amendments with those of us who will live the Constitution perfectly, and express it in deeds and actions accurately that we might be real American Citizens in reality for the establishment of the perfected state of a Democracy, which is a Utopia! Aren't you glad? Going All The Way
I heard you say you are going all the way with ME. I heard Christendom sing in all of your Protestant, Christian Churches the original composition that by inspiration to them was given:
'Where Jesus leads me I will follow; I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.'
Retrace your thoughts back to what you said and re-say the same today. Aren't
you glad? Then as you are going with ME all the way, coming into this dispensation
and into this degree of expression I heard you say by inspiration and by composition:
"I will follow FATHER where he leads, I'll go with HIM, with Him all the way."
and millions are seeking their emancipation, but out of bondage they did not
have anyone to lead them. Aren't you glad?
But I gave you your real emancipation over lacks, wants and limitations, over depressions and over adverse and undesirable conditions, over discrimination and segregation, to establish your going in the Land of the Living. By this great Conversion and legally by the Bill of Rights it is given. To you I came to give it! Aren't you glad, I say?
You have been living in bondage long enough! Yea, I say you have been living in bondage long enough! I heard one say by inspiration as a composition speaking of the physical slavery emancipation concerning Abraham Lincoln they mentioned John Brown
'Old John Brown's body lies amould'ring in the clay But his Spirit goes marching on.'
What will ye that I have Constitutionally in this Dispensation, in the FATHERSHIP
DEGREE, produced the Spirit of John Brown scientifically and intelligently to
give you your real emancipation? This is accomplished by the Bill of Rights being
enacted in every community and among all people and in every activity wheresoever
you may be. Aren't you glad?
It is a privilege to live in this recognition, for I dial in on any spirit I wish to, to carry out My Plan and Purpose to the letter, to give us a more perfect form of government and a more perfect Union; to make things better for all humanity. I think I had better stop!
All of this is accomplished not by violence, lest any man would boast; for I have long since declared: we shall have a Righteous Government not by violence but by Righteousness, and it shall come through and by the way of the Constitution and its Amendments and by the Declaration of Independence, by enacting the Bill of Rights so effectively, and by the masses to the Bill of Rights being truly converted. By this we shall have a Righteous Government! Aren't you glad?
I need not say more, but one thought most stressful to be considered was the Message that was sent to the President by letter, by Dr. Clauson no doubt you all have read it but I thought to call your attention to it. We have the right to petition Congress for any redress or to justify any situation that detrimentally affects us. This is what I did, and accomplished it in less time than sixty days. I petitioned Congress with three hundred and ninety thousand signatures from New York City for a redress, but they ignored ME and did not pass the Anti-lynching Bill, and allow the spirit of savagery and brutality to control the Senate and control the masses; but I AM going to have My Way.
We shall have a perfect form of government and a more perfect union than that which is actually actuated among the people of America, and we shall have it exactly according to the Constitution and according to the spirit and the meaning of its amendments and the Declaration of Independence! We shall form and establish a more perfect form of government than that which has been enacted among us and we shall do it by the Constitution and its Amendments and by the majority vote of the masses! Aren't you glad?
What do I care about a limited few who may try to ignore you and try to ignore ME? As I mentioned in that Message of those of the cloth claiming to be leaders of the people will try to ignore ME and those of our City and State and Federal Government will try to ignore the hope of their redemption and the only Resurrector and Convertor of true Americanism, of the Constitution and its Amendments and of the Declaration of Independence.
They tried to ignore ME, but as in the postwar days I shall establish a perfect
form of government! I shall do it with or without a Body. The mouth of GOD
has declared it! A perfect union of real Americanism where there shall be no
division among this people and no discrimination because of race, creed or
color or previous condition of servitude or of your previous experience in
life whatsoever! That is what I shall do!
They are running now; they are seeking this emancipation! For now is the time they need the Enactment of the Bill of Rights in their respective communities, and in every state in the Union and in all society; and in every activity they should impregnate equality! Then and only then can they represent Americanism according to our Constitution!
The Constitution is impersonal! It is impersonal by nature characteristically and spiritually. It sees no race, creed or color! It observes not mortality nor previous conditions of life or servitude; for the Spirit of the Constitution and its Amendments is impersonal by nature it is transmitted from your Savior, as a Redeemer and Emancipator of humanity! Aren't you glad?
For this cause, by proclamation I brought about the deep consideration of this day by the chief executive for all of the people of this Democracy and all representatives especially, as well as to take cognizance of the Bill of Rights and consider; for the Resurrection of the Bill of Rights is a reality! Our chief executive may not have observed it, but I had!
The Constitution, as Jesus was, has been crucified, dead and buried! But
I came to resurrect the Constitution and I have resurrected the Constitution
and its Amendments in the hearts and lives of the children of men. Therefore,
the Resurrection of the Constitution must be considered according to the proclamation
of our chief executive. Aren't you glad?
These are hard sayings but yet they are true; therefore I have actually re-established the Constitution and its Amendments from this day on, a memorial of the constitution; for it has been crucified, dead and buried until I resurrected it! But aren't you glad it is resurrected? This is the Resurrection Day of the constitution nationally! I said, this is the Resurrection Day of the constitution nationally!
A good many of you did not even know what the Constitution was and did not know what the Bill of Rights meant; but I have resurrected both it and them and I AM now establishing their going in the Land of the Living! From now, henceforth and forever, you must observe the Constitution, as said GOD, the FATHER, to Peter, James and John on the Mount of Transfiguration, when they said,
'Lord, let us build three tabernacles; one for Moses, one for Elijah and one for thee.'
What said I from the invisible realm, as being termed by their interpretation
heaven?
'This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.'
You must hereafter hear the Constitution and the Bill of rights especially, so that you will have the privilege to petition congress for redress of grievances and for anything that has been detrimentally inflicted upon yourself or your fellowmen as representatives of a great Democracy and as citizens of a great nation. We will hereafter petition Congress, according to the Bill of Rights, for any redress for anything that is against anything that is according to the Constitution any act of a person or persons that will inflict a wrong upon our fellow citizens.
We have a right to petition Congress! If they ignore it, as said Dr. Clauson, they are ignoring themselves and they will find themselves being moved out of office if not by the ballot, it will not be the bullet because we are too intelligent for it now-a-days; but it will be by My Spirit, says the LORD for,
'It is not by power nor by might, but by my Spirit," declares your GOD.
Think about how many senators have been moved out of office since I introduced
that Anti-Lynching Bill! Since I demanded that equality should be established
and recognized constitutionally and made law and order for this Democracy; they
failed to do it! Well, we will take the Constitution and its Amendments and live
both it and them so effectively, and live the bible to the letter , and establish
a more perfect form of government! I thank you.
