A great demonstration of love greeted the Lord, FATHER DIVINE, when HE entered the Banquet Room. For a long time apparently, the angels had awaited HIS Personal appearance and they were finally awarded when the Banquet was well under way.
All were hopefully anticipating at least a few words from the Master's lips, but it was a most delightful surprise to the vast audience when the LORD launched out into the deep and delivered a very dynamic and prophetic Message to the children of men.
Among those personally present to enjoy this great blessing was Reverend Henry Nichols of Philadelphia, a part of whose address is embodied in these pages. It was following Dr. Nichols' remarks that our SAVIOR delivered HIS Lecture.
Almighty GOD, we thank THEE!
(The foregoing statement is the comment of the transcriber and the following are FATHER'S Words.)
Peace, Everyone: ("Peace, FATHER Dear!" came the glad greeting of thousands.)
Good Health, Good Will, a Good Appetite for everyone, and Good Manners, Good Behavior, Good Will and a Good Desire for each and all of the people! For this cause I have arisen at this instance to say, we have in our midst, according to a card just received, the Reverend Henry Nichols from Philadelphia. If he would like to come forward to have a word to say, he is welcome to do so. We are always pleased to have our visiting friends to come.
Remember, we are not confined to denominations, races, creeds or colors; but whomsoever you are, you are welcome even as we are. All denominations are appreciated if they wish to come and participate in these divers demonstrations as being termed meetings and assemblies we have.
I further wish to say, if there is any other visiting friend who would like to have a word to say, you are welcome to come forward to speak or remain where you are. Of course if you are a little nearer the microphone, your voice will be heard over the loud speaker in other parts of the building and on the outside. The microphone hangs here near ME. It is quite sensitive; it can catch your voice almost anyplace in the dining room, if you are speaking loud enough.
Hence, if any of our visiting friends other than Dr. Nichols wish to come forward and have a word to say, you are welcome to do so. Speak volitionally as we do, if you care to; if not give us your name,address and profession and we will gladly introduce you according to custom.
(Dr. Nichols reached the microphone before FATHER had ceased speaking and he addressed the gathering as recorded in part.)
Dr. Nichols:
It was my happy privilege about a year ago, the third Sunday in November, instead of the third Sunday in October, to visit FATHER DIVINE here in New York. At that time my choir was here from Philadelphia and I recall we sang and FATHER DIVINE came downstairs.
Today I happened to come to New York — I am speaking in New Jersey this afternoon — and I said, "I must go to see FATHER DIVINE." Ezekiel there is a very good friend of mine. We eat every day together and talk and each week he gives me a "New Day." I believe that is the name of the magazine.
I keep up with what you are doing. One thing I enjoy more than anything else is your salutation "Peace." It reminds me of when we were in school — the teacher asked me why we shake hands with the right hand. We found out that in those days men carried swords in their right hands and when they met their fellow brothers they would extend the right hand to show there was nothing in it, but the right hand means very little today because when we shake hands we pull a dagger from our sleeve and kill each other. But here we can get together and say "Peace" and mean it from the dept's of our hearts.
Whenever I come to New York I always look up FATHER DIVINE and I talk about Him every day with my good friend Ezekiel. May we not only say "Peace" from our lips but mean it from the dept's of our hearts and tell the whole world we can live the Fatherhood of GOD and the Brotherhood of Man right here on earth.
(At the conclusion of Dr. Nichols remarks a follower from the state of Texas spoke. She stated in substance that she would soon be returning to Texas and was most reluctantly leaving the Personal Body of GOD, FATHER DIVINE, pleading with Him to be with her on her way. When she had finished FATHER sang the sweet little song of consolation recorded below.)

Peace, Everyone: That little composition composed, including many versions of experience and as a prospective experience for the future and as an experience of the present, though it was composed nearly thirty years ago, the original composition came from this Tabernacle as a Message to the people to tell them concerning the mystery of opposition.
I heard one writer say:
"Glory in tribulation; knowing this: that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience, and experience, hope; and hope maketh not ashamed."
The reason for it making not ashamed, it is because the Love of GOD is shed abroad in the heart. It is not confined locally to to the locality in which you live; but the Love of GOD extends from shore to shore and from land to land. By this and by that I AM what I AM!
Truly might have Christendom said,
"Charity begins at home and spreads abroad."
This Message I have long since declared, shall go from shore to shore and from land to land. All of the inhabitants of the earth universally shall recognize GOD'S Presence and shall see and know ME even as I AM . . . that is, if they live on the face of the earth. Aren't you glad!
If they do not live they will not know ME; for it has long since been declared and I re-declare the same as an answer and as an affirmation to the prayer Jesus prayed:
"It is eternal life to know Thee," said He, "the only true GOD, and Jesus Christ Whom Thou hast sent."
Then I say, they all shall know Me universally as far as a ship has ever sailed the ocean or a foot has ever trod the soil! . . . That is, if they live and walk about on the face of the earth. Aren't you glad!
Life eternal comes by knowing the only true GOD, Jesus Christ the Son, of Whom you say I AM! Now, tell the nations at large I have declared Peace to all mankind! I have declared Peace to the world! They all must accept of GOD or else with them they will not have Peace and Peace will no longer abide. But how glorious it is to know your GOD! GOD as a Principle transmitted and as an expression, even as the expression of the principle of mathematics, it is reincarnatable — it has been reincarnated! It is reproducible! — it has been reproduced! It is repersonifiable — it has been repersonified in this advanced civilization, as it may be termed —it is called an advanced civilization because of the condescension of GOD on earth among men, transmitting by inspiration Wisdom and Knowledge to them from the Fount of HIS Own Omniscience.
Therefore, the principle of mathematics developed and brought to fruition in a few many years ago — civilization had not at that time advanced as it is today among you, but since the transmission and the "reproduce-ion", reproduction whichever, of the very Spirit of mathematics, scientific Truth and other Wisdom from the Fount of GOD'S Omniscience, we can declare civilization has advanced and is still advancing. It is advancing because it is expanding and extending from shore to shore and from land to land because of the impersonality of that principle, yea, the principle of mathematics.
All of the expressions of civilization, yea, even your simplest education is impersonal, even though it is called yours as a person. Then I say, it is the impersonality of the reality of all things constructive and things that are for the up building of humanity.
All things are impersonal, therefore the principle of mathematics is impersonal. Men conceive the idea and learn to use mathematics accurately and express it scientifically. They become to be mathematicians but it does not prohibit others from advancing scientifically and intellectually, even as the first mathematicians. GOD through His Condescension is transmitting HIS Wisdom from the Fount of His own Omniscience to this people, advancing civilization scientifically, intellectually, inspirationally and spiritually from HIS own Omniscience from HIS own Omnipotence.
By this men are stirred because of the dialation of such an expression and all of the other divers expressions of
GOD'S Omniscience, Omnipotence
and even HIS Omnipresence, being impersonal and being transmitted; that GOD, through HIS Condescension could and can express them. Aren't you glad!
GOD can and will, yea, GOD does express them. HE expresses HIS Omniscience! HE expresses HIS Omnipotence! HE expresses HIS Omnipresence and proves to the world conclusively when I AM apparently absent I AM Present. Aren't you glad! I said, the dialation of Wisdom, the dialation of every good and desirable expression, it is your privilege to dial in by dialation. By dialing in on the Fundamental. the transmission of the Principle will be exemplified , for you will exemplify it.
You will reincarnate it, for it is transmitted by dialation; therefore, you as individuals can dial in on the Fount of
GOD'S Omniscience, Yea, even dial in on GOD'S Actual Presence with all of HIS Omnipotence! By this men are stirred. GOD in Perfection as the Perfector of the Perfect and the manifester of Perfection! He came in such an insignificant way of expression, yet, with HIS Own Omniscience HE is ruling the masses universally and speaking Peace to all humanity. Aren't you glad!
When I said "Peace to the World at Large!" many years ago, men did not know in reality I would bring it into actuality and bring it through politics and into legality and make it a reality. They all desire Peace now and President Roosevelt with ME has declared his conscious conviction is that all of the nations of the earth should pray for Peace before rather than after war. Can you not see I have the Government on MY side?
I did not stop until I impelled the governments of the divers countries, yea, all government, to pray for Peace, even as I showed it to you. Even as I request of you, I demanded all of the nations of civilization to pray for Peace and now they are praying for Peace. They tried to ignore ME at one time, but the Government itself is on MY side! Did he not say, "My desire, my conscious conviction is that all of the people should pray for Peace before rather than after war?" Have I not been doing it daily among you?
I did not just start to pray for Peace in actuated Words of prayer, but I have been praying for Peace, as it may be termed. I have caused you to pray for Peace for lo, these many years. You have been doing it before war, even before there was any thought of war, before the Roman African War, in other words the Roman Ethiopian War whichever. Before it came I was declaring Peace for them through you and through others and transmitting it forcefully that others might catch it, for it is contagious and also impersonal. Therefore, before President Roosevelt requested it and before any of the other powers of our civilization requested Peace — requested you to pray for Peace — I had coerced you into requesting, I had impelled you to seek Peace and you sought it volitionally, for I impelled you
.
"As many as are led by the Spirit of GOD, they are the Sons of GOD."
You have been moving volitionally and intuitively towards Peace. In your actions and in your deeds through self denial, as far as a people, as it may be termed, you are following ME. That is what it is all about! Therefore, I did not wait until the war to say it, but all of the people of the earth, yea, this people of this country, and others, criticized the word Peace we have been conveying for many years. They criticized it; but now the country itself , especially when it is requested by the Chief Executive as requested that each and all of the people pray for Peace before rather than after war — this was not only a message to this people but it was a message to all the powers, yea, to all the of people of civilization universally that they might seek Peace diligently, even as I present it.
"Peace before rather than after war!" Why should you wait until after war to call for Peace when there is no place for Peace? For Peace cannot be found in misery where there are millions lying in morgues and in the trenches. It is a matter of impossibility for Peace to be represented!
Jot these thoughts down in your memory and you will see, all ye inhabitants of the earth, but especially, ye Americans. I have requested the honor of all civilization to recognize MY Actual Presence as a Peaceful Representative and as a Representative of Peace! Aren't you glad!
I did not come to represent Peace by the way of violence or by the way of destruction, but as a Peaceful Representative I AM representing the universal Peace for all humanity, the Peace that cometh by living Evangelically wholeheartedly and by abiding under the shadow of the Almighty! Aren't you glad!
This is not a supposition with ME! I have it in MY Hands! When they were declaring war I declared "I have declared Peace", and I extended it to the children of men. Now they can see it is an expression of Peace, even if it is not a lasting Peace. They were obliged to recognize ME! Aren't you glad!
Truly might have one said,
"Speak Lord and Thy servant heareth."
And Christ did say, even to the "other fellow" as an expression under the name of the "Other Fellow"
"It is written that thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy GOD, but HIM only shalt thou serve."
The "other fellow" is GOD'S Servant and the "other Fellow" will hear ME! Aren't you glad! The "other fellow" said,
"Speak LORD and thy servant heareth,"
The "other Fellow" hears ME when I Speak for I AM Speaking so scientifically and I speak so accurately and so legibly he can hear ME and he can understand ME, for I speak in his own language. To the "other fellow" in the political world and among the chief executives as diplomats, I speak diplomatically; I speak in their own language. To those who are in the legal field of endeavor and in their daily activities, I speak in their own language for I speak legally. Those who are in the social world of expression I speak to the "other fellow" in them also, for I speak socially after their own language. Then and there they can understand ME. Aren't you glad!
To those who are in the intellectual world of expression on the board and under the board of education, I speak intellectually; I speak in their own language. That is why they can understand ME. Those who are in the political world of expression with all of the "other fellows", better known as the "d-v-l" , I speak in their own language, for I speak politically. I thank you.
(FATHER paused for a few moments, letting the masses gaze at HIS beautiful Body and enjoy the high vibrations of ecstasy, and after a few moments of deafening applause continued as follows:)
To those who are in the agricultural world and agricultural field of expression, I speak agriculturally; I speak in their own language so they can understand ME. Aren't you glad! For the "other fellow" is in the agricultural world of expression; therefore, I speak in his own language, for I speak agriculturally. In the mechanical field of endeavor I speak mechanically for in the mechanical field of endeavor you will find the great big "other fellow!" I speak in his own language so that he can understand ME, Aren't you glad!
You are glad because I speak in all languages that all of the divers expressions of humanity might understand ME. I speak in their own language from every angle expressible for I AM educated. As the Dean of the Universe I speak all languages. I speak every dialect, every tongue! I speak every accent of the children of men in their divers languages of expression of the divers accents of expression, for I AM the Dean of the Universe, according to the version of millions! I said, I AM the Dean of the Universe according to the version of millions! Therefore, I speak in the divers languages and tongues, for I speak in all languages, having to come in contact with every emotion and every expression, every language and every tongue and every people; therefore, I speak so that all can understand ME.
In the religious world of expression, through MY Condescension I speak in the language of those who are religious, that they might understand ME distinctly. Aren't you glad! In the world of science I speak scientifically that those who are representing science might understand ME; therefore, I speak in their own language. Aren't you glad!
In the industrial world of expression I speak industriously that those who are industrious might understand ME; therefore, I speak in their language. Aren't you glad! In the organizational field of expression I speak organizationally that those who are organizers and representatives of organizations might understand ME. That is why I speak in their language.
Hence I will put that Message over and cause the chief executives universally, even as they have already done, to understand ME distinctly and recognize MY Actual Presence even as you do who are here with ME personally. Take these thoughts to consideration.
As afore said in the beginning, I speak as I have spoken and as I had spoken. I did not just begin speaking — I have always been speaking, but I have been coming in divers expressions and in divers tongues and languages and in divers people; but now I AM speaking distinctly to this people in whose likeness I AM appearing! Aren't you glad!
When I long ago, many years ago, whichever, declared "Peace!" yea, "Peace To The World!" I requested all humanity to recognize Peace and use it as a salutation when they speak, yea, when they answer a call over the telephone — to use Peace that Peace might be transmitted psychologically. From a psychological point of view the Spirit of Peace would have been in them even as it is in you. The spirit of war would not be in the nations, for such a salutation would purge the spirit of war out of their systems as well as out of their mentality.
Therefore, when I required Peace they did not want Peace. Even the prejudiced officials, such as post office clerks and representative in the different post offices, they did not even want the name "Peace" to go on MY mail. But I have requested the honor of all people who wish to live, to put the name "Peace" on all of the mail they send out! If you wish to live, I said, put the name of Peace on the outside as well as on the inside, and let all of the postmasters of our present Government know definitely, they must recognize the Prince of Peace and the Government stamp must carry "Peace!" If you wish to live and have Peace in your home, in your business, in your profession, in your trade and in all you say and in all you do, have peace in writing or printing in all of your letters on the outside as well as on the inside, and then when you start in your correspondence, say "Peace!" and Peace will be heard and the Prince of Peace, yea, the King of Peace will come according to your request. Aren't you glad!
That is the way to get Him! Just continue to call Him and He will come forth into expression. In all of your actions and in all of your dealings the Prince of Peace will be a living reality and others will see Him distinctly. Aren't you glad!
We shall have a Righteous Government! All of the inhabitants of the earth shall know your GOD! Truly might have one declared:
"He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove the Glory of His Righteousness and the Wonders of His Love."
I shall make all humanity prove the wonders of MY Love! That is exactly what I AM doing and that is what they shall do even as I do. Aren't you glad!
We shall not be discouraged! We shall establish a universal Peace among men. Those who will accept of MY Message, I will overthrow all confusion much more than overthrow the divers wars; and even every disturbance of the mind shall be overcome and Peace on the throne of your mind shall be enthroned and none will be able to hurt nor harm when this is actually done. That is what it is all about!
Now, they do not want it, but we shall have it! Those who oppose it, I shall move them not only out of office, but I shall move them off the face of the earth. I shall move them out of the way of others and let others come and fill their places, that GOD HIMSELF might be represented and GOD might be established among this people. That is what it is all about!
They have not desired to hear ME speak heretofore; but hereafter they had just as well to set their ears in order, for I shall speak in every language hereafter more distinctly, and shall speak it in their own language so legibly all will be able to understand ME and see ME distinctly, even as you do, those of you who are here with ME Personally. That is what it is all about!
I shall make it brighter and brighter daily, as said the Scripture:
"The path of the just glows brighter and brighter until the perfect day."
I shall cause the path to glow brighter and brighter. Brighter and brighter as you go, the glow of the path shall be more distinctly discerned; for the pathway of which you are in, shall be a light to the children of men. Aren't you glad!
Upon this foundation if you will stand, you need not fret nor worry, for the time is at hand. even we shall not have the offenders and the conflicters as you have had among men! I shall even stop the dogs from barking! I shall let them know GOD controls the universe! I shall control each and every one of them from this angle of expression. I mean from this Tabernacle — the Body of GOD, of Whom you say I AM! ("GOD Almighty!" came the unanimous shout of the masses.) Yea, Peace shall be established! I have carried it far enough to get the endorsement of our Government through the President, and all shall recognize it. If they try to criticize it, they will criticize the Government of this Country, for I AM in the Country and in the Government. In reality I AM the Government. Nevertheless, the Government I will represent in accord with the President, and the Message shall go forth co-operatively and all shall see it and know it definitely as I have long since told you. I thank you.
