FATHER and MOTHER DIVINE in FATHER'S Office
in The Divine Lorraine Hotel
After the introductions and all were seated, FATHER spoke firstly as follows:)
Is this the first time you gentlemen have been here at this particular place?
Mr. Walters: I was here a week ago, FATHER. I attended one of Your Meetings. And then years ago I came with Mr. Cecil King, one of the editors of your paper, and he spoke. That was about 1938.
MOTHER DIVINE: What paper do you represent, Mr. Walters?
Mr. Walters: "The London Daily Mirror" and also the "Melbourne Argus" an Australian paper. I was very surprised at the meeting last week and in my column I described it. I noticed YOU had some [Followers] present from England.
FATHER: Yes, we have quite a following in Australia and up and down the Pacific Coast in the States here.
Mr. Walters: Oh, yes. I have been disappointed about not having an opportunity of meeting more of the people from England and talking to them but YOU think it is preferable that it would not be so, do You?
FATHER: Well, it is just a matter of amalgamation and unification. Many, as I have often said, will eventually change their accents and dialects as we amalgamate in the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose. We will eventually know no man from national origins but at the present time when we come in contact with them we are always happy to meet them because we like to meet all people. We like all people. There are a number of Followers of Mine from Australia here; I mean, from Australia and also from England proper and a number not only here in Philadelphia but they are elsewhere in the States. Of course, it is not confined to the land or country alone, but this country does give the subjects and others an opportunity that other countries do not give them. It is wonderful! if I must say it MYSELF. Not just because I AM here, but I believe that this country does give the aliens and strangers an opportunity that many of the other countries do not give them. For this cause there are many desire to reside in the United States of America and make this their home from now on!
Mr. Botel: How large is your Following?
FATHER: Well, we do not have any accurate account of them, to be frank with you, to say exactly how many but as far back as in 1936 when we had our International Righteous Government Convention, which will be fourteen years inside of the next month or so it was declared then that there were at least twenty million all over the world and they have been increasing by leaps and bounds since that time.
Mr. Walters: Do YOU plan to go in Body to England and Australia?
FATHER: Well, I have no set time.
Mr. Walters: But YOU may?
FATHER: Oh, yes, I may some day as I AM led directly. Of course, they are now calling for ME in Australia and also in Switzerland. You also might know, if you have ever gone to England, you might know we have a large following in Switzerland. We believe that was a part of which caused Switzerland to be somewhat spared in the time of the inhuman warfare and bloodshed, somewhat like the United States was spared!
If you retrace ;your thoughts back to the kindergarten or the Holy Writ you will find where, in the days of Lot, when the destroying angel came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, if they could have only found as few as ten Just persons, the destroying angel would have spared the city! To verify this, that it means the same, Jesus said:
'As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man!'
Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they could not find even so much or
so little as ten Just persons in those wicked cities. And just as it was in those
days, CHRIST said,
'so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man!'
Those Righteous ones that have been converted from sin and vice and crime and debauchery of every kind, they have been the instigation and the hope and the salvation of many nations, in My Belief, or else I would think our Work would be in vain, in a great measure! But when we converted, through the doctrine of Jesus CHRIST, millions of people to live Soberly, Righteously and GODLY if you look at the statistics of the United States and the Treasury of the United States Government you will see where My Followers have returned millions of dollars! almost a million dollars in so-called stolen goods to the government, those of those debts and ill-gotten gains they acquired dishonestly before they knew ME and after they were converted they could not find a good many of the credit debtors to whom they owed those bills. They were advised they must go right their wrongs, right their wrongs in some way and they went back and turned it over to the United States Treasury!
I think the statistics will show now, upwards of a million dollars being held by the government of our United States Treasury that the people turned stolen goods in or paid the equivalent for the same, aside from those whom they could not find to whom the credit debt was due, you see! just the same as if I owed you money if I owed you money some twenty-five, thirty or fifty years ago and got converted into this Truth, if I could locate you I would go back and pay that debt and right MY Wrongs just as it reads in the Bible where Zacchaeus ran and climbed up the sycamore tree and said if he had wronged any man he would repay so much for all the wrong he had done unto men!
So when men are really converted that is the first thing they desire to do, To right their wrongs, to be pleasing in the sight of GOD and man!
So this is the mystery of the Righteousness that has been exemplified! By Millions being converted into Righteousness, matters have been adjusted satisfactorily governmentally, socially and financially although a good many of the records have not been written recently. We have not published many of the records of the different ones righting their wrongs and adjusting matters satisfactorily as we did a few years back. We did publish a considerable number. At times there would be a few hundred thousand dollars a week that would be published, where they would go back and pay their old back debts, even to assistance they had received from old age pensions, and so on like that, because they were converted to Righteousness to live Soberly, Righteously and GODLY, and not to try to get something for nothing!
For this cause we believe that Righteousness established in a land or country, it will protect the country itself! And those of the subjects of the country!
Mr. Walters: Look, FATHER, may I ask I am sorry to change the subject YOUR Followers who come over from England and elsewhere who are not able to work how do they get along? Do YOU look after them? Will YOU look after them? because that is an amazing thing.
FATHER: Well, I AM not considering anyone coming from England that is not able to work, unless they have means to support themselves.
Mr. Walters: Oh, YOU are not?
FATHER: I AM not thinking of that especially. But we know the doctrine of Jesus CHRIST says that one should live Soberly, Righteously and GODLY and the rich young ruler was requested of Jesus to go and sell all you have and give to the poor and then come follow ME!
Mr. Walters: Yes.
FATHER: So those who are self-denied and consecrated, why, naturally they are cared for!
Mr. Walters: Oh, yes, yes.
FATHER: That is where all of these different homes and hotels are provided, by those who are consecrated. Through cooperation and harmonization they unite and they purchase such properties all over and they do care for those of themselves also as well as others.
Mr. Walters: I understand.
Mr. Rubin: FATHER, is there any way to make contributions to the Peace Mission?
FATHER: The main contribution we accept is your heart and your mind! Of course, there may be a limited contribution you might be privileged to make in this way: A person is privileged to donate for whatsoever they eat, or something of that sort, the same as in this hotel here where as it has been a first rate hotel and you would have been obliged to pay from three dollars and a half and up for sleeping accommodations for a room but now you get sleeping accommodations in the same hotel for only fifty cents a night and two dollars and a half per week. That is done with My Compliments. My Followers do it it is not anything I do but for Righteousness' sake as converts of Mine they are willing to make a sacrifice to that end that Democracy might be instituted in business and in social affairs.
But they are privileged to contribute voluntarily to that end the same as we serve Banquets daily such as you have seen today. It is not at all times right here in this building every day all over I mean, all day long but we do serve here and we serve at Broad and Catherine Streets; we serve at Forty-first Street. Sometimes we serve publicly I mean, where I preside over the Banquet Table the same as I did today I do that downstairs on the first floor in the crystal dining room and, of course, if anyone feels like they would want to donate a little more than what they consider the food cost, they would be privileged to donate that way, but not the way the average person seeks donations from other people.
Not in any of our Churches, in not any of our Churches are they allowed to take up a collection for the spiritual Work and Service they give. They are required to give Service, Religious Services, absolutely GRATIS, without any thought of contribution! Even in our larger auditoriums we do not even receive a commission at any time, matters not what sort of a demonstration we may have!
In New York City we used to have a large auditorium at one time if you have been to our meetings at any time especially in 1936 I think it was, we had the St. Nicholas Palace and at that time the Star Casino and also the Rockland Palace at one time, for a number of days, and the place being flooded. No commission was accepted in other words, no admission [fee] was requested and everybody could come and enjoy the meeting and had the privilege to speak or move if they wished to. This was our Righteous Government Convention. It has been nearly fourteen years now, as you know in 1936, I think it was, the eleventh and the twelfth of January. It is less than a month from now it will be fourteen years ago and everybody they all were welcome from all over the world! No admission fee or anything of that sort! And when we are having our regular meetings in auditoriums and places where we have held meetings weekly, they were supposed to be closely and conservatively estimated at from twelve to fifteen thousand not one penny's admission fee was requested!
That may seem strange but yet is true! and that is why I put a barrier and a ban, whichever, on tip-taking and receiving gifts! In any of our public restaurants and dining rooms or public places of business a Follower of Mine will not take a tip under any circumstance. If you are served in the private dining room and serve as Banquet style a person is privileged to donate whatsoever they choose, above the would-be required amount fifteen cents for a meal and extra for salad, dessert and other delicacies but they are not required to and will not be allowed to take a tip in the public dining rooms where they serve over-the-counter service. Fifteen cents a meal and no more! It is wonderful!
(At this point one of the secretarial staff asked Mr. Walters whether or not he knew Mr. Beverly Nichols or Miss Evelyn Weber, both of whom were writers from England and had visited FATHER and been entertained by HIM and accepted of His courtesy and kindness and then had proceeded to write articles in England concerning the Peace Mission Movement which were of the most atrocious and degrading nature, filled with utter falsity and apparent malicious untruth. Mr. Walters stated he had met Mr. Nichols and had not considered him to be such a person, and had also met Miss Weber and had a speaking acquaintance with her but did not know of the articles mentioned. He then asked whether or not we minded if he disagreed with us from a religious point of view in his writings, because he could not agree totally with us in our beliefs. The secretary then said that she didn't expect everyone to agree with our religious beliefs but that they did not have to write complete untruths and deliberate false and malicious statements concerning the work and Mission, as they had done, after having been in the meetings and seen a glimpse of the truth of our activities).
(FATHER then spoke as follows:) Well, I hope the people will learn better after a while not to bring certain destruction upon themselves. As I said a little while ago,
'As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man!'
There are those who are in the newspaper world or field, whichever, who have
taken ME as an issue of burlesque and ridicule because they don't like My Doctrine
of Democracy and Brotherhood and of bringing the peoples of the earth together
many of whom have distorted My pictures and My words and My sayings and perverted
them for the purpose of (FATHER turns toward the stacks of letters on His desk,
saying:) if I had an article here now that came from, I think, "The London
Evening Standard," how they have perverted My picture and tried to make
ME look like a criminal! And I have often said that they themselves or some of
their friends would be perverted and they would lose their identity! Many of
them have gone down in planes plane disasters and other ways of destruction,
and were disfigured beyond identification!
Mr. Germain: Thirteen in one plane, wasn't it? (Mr. Germain refers to the top newspaper men and women who went down in the ill-fated Dutch Airline disaster not long ago).
FATHER: Certainly. They have been disfigured, though being, a good many of them, light- complexioned the same as you gentlemen, which has nothing to do with your quality or character but speaking of the way they would try to pervert My picture, at times, and distort it try to make the world look upon ME with scorn! and oh, what terrible accidents have they brought upon themselves! For:
'That which a man soweth he must also reap!
Therefore, this Miss Weber, she wrote a derogatory article concerning ME but 'One day is as a thousand years with GOD and a thousand years as one day,' in My consideration! Whatsoever they desire to do to ME, it shall surely come to them, only that much worse than what they can do or would even try to do to ME! It is wonderful!
You see, there are preconceived prejudices deep down in the hearts and lives of men, handed down by tradition and through orthodoxy and much by hereditation. They may not express it to that or those of their own national origin, at times; they may not express it to that or those of their own kin. But, as I have often said concerning the lynch-mob-violent leaders and representatives of the South here in America if they cannot express it on those of whom they may desire to express it, they will turn on themselves at times! Savagery and brutality and inhumanity that runs rampant in the hearts and minds of men will rise in them even against themselves!
The wicked shall slay the wicked but the meek shall inherit the earth and the righteous shall dwell in the land forever!'
So you find lots of them that are savage by characteristics and by nature. They
will not condemn their friends as long as they have an access to express their
savagery and inhumanity and brutality to those of others!
I have seen people who were so savage they would actually beat horses and cows and anything that was alive with all sorts of savage and brutal tendencies to destroy the lives of the living animals! That is why the prevention for the cruelty to animals has been established a law to that effect because if they did not have something to check them they would destroy their own cattle and hogs and chickens and anything that had life in it. Just brutal like that!
But if one is converted out of that nature, out of those characteristics, and becomes to be a New Creature and if they have been taught the Life of CHRIST to be Imbibers of the Spirit and Life of Jesus they will no longer express such savagery, inhumanity and mortality! But if they are not born out of that Adamic state of consciousness they are made subject to Adam's nature, until it will rise in them and even destroy themselves!
I saw of a recent date an article in the paper where a man in the South, I think, he killed his four children and his wife and then killed himself. That is savagery! Inhumanity and brutality got the best of him! That is what the Bible is for to teach people how to DO RIGHT and how to be CONVERTED out of that Adamic state of consciousness! That is why we believe in having the Bible in all of our homes and Churches and even in the hotels and everywhere! in every room, if possible, if the people want them there! For the Bible according to King James' version will stop men from committing sin and vice and crime and debauchery of every kind!
As I said to some of My readers and adherents of a very recent date when we were speaking of the Bible studies and the Bible classes here, I said, 'We want everybody in all places to read the Bible and learn the Bible. You need not try to put your construction on it or your version, but read the Bible verbatim!' And we take the King James version of the Holy Bible as the guide and direction for any religious person, especially those of Christendom under Christianity, and also of Judaism!
So we believe if a person lives exactly according to the Holy Bible, if they read it just read it and learn it as they learn their alphabet, as they learn their English alphabet we believe they will be blessed in the time of trouble and disaster!
You heard the Captain Bray speak a little while ago. He was telling about how the Japanese fired on them on the ship where they were tied up for a week, dropping bombs at them, he said it was not a matter of the Japanese not being able to direct their bombs and shots but the ship did not get hit one time! He said he believes that I was with them and believed that I would protect the ship, and so I did! If I did not, My Spirit did it, because he believed it.!
You find there are many who were overseas in this country, in the European countries Followers of Mine. Every true Follower of Mine who went aboard came back absolutely unharmed! I don't know of one who was lost overseas. There happened to be one family, though it might be strange to say, they had two sons. One of the sons the lady told me one of the sons said that he believed that I was a fake FATHER DIVINE was a fake or words to that effect and what the press had said concerning ME he believed that it was true, and all of this ridicule and criticism and accusations that they had brought against ME. He went overseas and he got killed almost as soon as he was over there. He was not a Follower but he was one of the Follower's sons. The other one said he did not believe it. He went over there and came back absolutely untouched! That in itself was sufficient to let you see and know GOD takes care of people!
Miss McConnell, the lady you met her, I AM quite sure you met her
Mr. Walters: Yes.
FATHER: She is a dear lady from England she told how there was a man came to the meetings in England and how he accepted the Message and went away and came back unharmed. The Spirit took him safely!
Some of them tell about when the German bombs, robot bombs were being directed over their homes because of the Faith they had in ME and Implicit Faith, they said, their heart did not make an extra beat, not that they knew of. They knew It (the Spirit) would protect them! They said that once or twice, once especially, a bomb came over and fell right near their place. Other houses were shattered, some of them, but theirs was unharmed! So GOD will take care of you if you will Trust HIM! So these are some of the reasons for the conviction of those of MY Followers!
(At this point FATHER turns toward MOTHER DIVINE sitting nearby as HE says:) This is MOTHER DIVINE, as I afore said. SHE heard of ME when SHE was a little child and SHE grew up in this Truth. Had not seen ME Personally. But SHE, as well as many others, were determined to see ME and were determined to come to this country. A good many did not want HER to come to this country but SHE desired to be an American citizen and so SHE is! an American citizen one hundred percent!
Mr. Walters: There is one thing YOU suggest, FATHER YOU rather suggested there was no democracy in England and Australia or lack of it. I have always found a lot of it absolute freedom! Perhaps YOU meant Europe in general but most certainly
FATHER: Well, I don't mean to say there is none in England or Australia, but I have considered that there was more Democracy and Brotherhood according to our Constitution and according to our Bill of Rights and according to our Declaration of Independence, than what it is in some places some countries.
Mr. Walters: Yes, yes.
FATHER: Of course, you see, there is much savagery and inhumanity in the States, in the United States. Right here in Philadelphia, as far as that is concerned, you find plenty of people of all complexions some of them just as dark complected as your shoes they have all sorts of racial prejudice and bigotry and the like but they are not living according to our Constitution and they are not living according to our Bill of Rights!
Mr. Walters: Yes, I quite understand now.
FATHER: You see, that is the thought. So, by we having a Bill of Rights and a Constitution to go by, we can be protected under the Constitution, you see! But some people will not try to do that which is Just and Right and will not try to live according to the Constitution, neither according to the Bill of Rights.!
Mr. Botel: FATHER DIVINE, You talk about the Constitution and Bill of Rights providing the Principle that YOU believe in and we believe in.
FATHER: Yes.
Mr. Botel: Now are YOU in favor of more direct action in the way of federal law to provide this equality and break down prejudice, and so forth? You believe in federal laws and that type of thing?
FATHER: I do. I believe there should be a law to support the rights and protect the rights of men, whichever, and to prohibit those who are lawless and unconstitutional by nature and by characteristics to prohibit them from doing as they might would do and as a good many of them do do! The same as was said of a very recent date: If it is a law to put your hand out when you are going to turn a corner and you are driving your car, and especially when you are going to turn on the left-hand street left-hand corner in the States here driving a car that has a left-hand drive as we have here in America why, if you do not put your hand out and someone runs into you, you may be charged for reckless driving!
Well now, we believe in Law and Order. We should have laws to keep people and to hold people in check and prohibit them from doing that which is wrong to their fellowman and from destroying the lives of men and their property, and the like! So we believe in the same manner about those who are inhuman by nature and by characteristics, who act as savages and brutes of humanity. I think there should be a law to hold humanity and mankind to hold those who express inhumanity and savagery in check so that they might not be privileged to do what they might desire to do to prevent them from doing what they might wish to do! There is a law in the Bible which says,
'Thou shalt not steal!'
It also says,
'He who would steal an egg would steal an ox!'
I have further said,
'He that would steal an apple would steal an elephant if he could get him in his pocket and get away with him!'
So I feel that we should be Honest in Words, Deeds and Actions! But those who
are dishonest and unthoughtful, there should be a Law to hold them in Check to
cause them to do that which is Just and Right! MOTHER DIVINE: FATHER, in reference
to what was said about Democracy being expressed in England and in Australia
and not just here in the States the reason why we consider America as the Land
of the Free and the Home of the Brave is, the original settlers of America the
forefathers the Pilgrims came to America seeking religious Liberty seeking Freedom
from tradition and also the religious Freedom from the orthodox versions, to
a great extent. And so people came not only from England but they came from all
the various European countries where they had been under subjection, one way
or another and therefore, America has become the Melting Pot of All Nations!
and for that reason, because there are so many races, creeds and colors here,
we can express Democracy to a greater extent.
(There then followed a conversation between Mr. Walters and Mr. Isles after Mr. Walters voiced the opinion he did not believe there was color prejudice in England as in the United States. Mr. Isles inquired as to whether or not class prejudice didn't still exist and especially in the system of transportation in England, to which Mr. Walters replied that they had first, second and third class in transportation but he didn't consider such as class prejudice but more as a means of convenience to those who had the money to seek such accommodation as they might desire. Mr. Botel then spoke to FATHER as follows:)
I would like to ask YOU one more question or show YOU how the situation such as YOU believe in, such as the basis of equality, and so on, that many people believe in, has taken different tracks! Apparently YOU believe YOUR Doctrine YOUR people who believe in YOU feel that their Salvation and future lies in the break-down of the divisions, and so on, that are found throughout the world and are not in the Bible or in YOU or in YOUR beliefs. Now there are many other persons who desire the same as YOU have and who have renounced religion completely because it does not provide it. And there are those who have tried to break it down through intermarriage and who have felt they would end barriers, and so on, that should not exist. There are some who seek a religion professing such equality, and so forth, and they have found in religion no way of compromise, and they have done just the opposite thing. They have left religion completely because they don't feel it has provided equality that way!
FATHER: Yea, a good many people have.
Secretary: They found a great deal of hypocrisy in it.
FATHER: Yes, that is why a great majority of the universally established Church of today does not believe in the Doctrine of CHRIST as I exemplify it and as I teach it, because they have their religion a good many of them. A good many of the very leaders of the people, church pastors, are those who believe absolutely believe in racial supremacy and segregation! There are so many people in the South that were supposed to be pastors of the churches I have known lots of them who belonged to the Baptist Church many of them pastors and they belonged to the klans because they wanted to keep some people down and put some people up, you see
Well now, we believe in Democracy providing the necessary Freedom that CHRIST came to bring! and, of course, not only believe it but it is immaterial to ME whether anyone else believes it or not. I will and I have brought to fruition that kind of Freedom that the Doctrine of CHRIST brings, and I know that it will bring Freedom to all nations!
The country of I mean, India just received her freedom here recently, did she not? or her independence, whichever? And we are not going to stop until all people in all other countries be as free as we are in these private offices of Mine where all people will have the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness according to our Constitution!
But over some of the different countries and territories they are kept down and are not given their independence and are not given the right of their franchise! As I say, I said of a recent date, we consider that immigration and high tariff barriers are set up as a line of demarcation and prohibitation to prohibit some from making their respective advances and from having access to go from one country to the other and live as they wish to live. These barriers and limitations must come down, and we are going to legitimately and Evangelically and, I might say, politically, break every alien yoke of bondage that sets as a barrier of prohibitation to prohibit the people from access to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! It shall not be done by the bullet and we are not advocating the system of Hitlerism or Fascism or any of the isms that create and propagate warfare and bloodshed, but we are advocating the Life and the Teachings of CHRIST that shall break every barrier and every limitation.! It shall set all people free, even as I am free! Even as I am free! It shall do it!
And as I have often said,
'The blood has paid it all.'
. . . as being termed the Blood, but it is the Life! When we speak of the Blood
of Jesus CHRIST, the son cleanses us from all unrighteousness, the Life of Jesus
CHRIST, His Son, for the Life is in the Blood! Therefore, the Life of Jesus CHRIST
will Free you from all Unrighteousness!
Hitler and Hitlerism and Mussolini and not any of those former existing powers that kept the people down, shall have access in this country! That is, if Uncle Sam permits ME to do as I AM doing! And we will not have another war in this country! It is wonderful! CHRIST will set you free!
The savagery of prejudice and division and strife through racism and nationalism and sectarianism, one looking at some limited ism or expression of mortality as perfection and as the standard and the redemption of humanity when they all will fail you! I recall saying, at least, I sent a Message to Hitler no doubt you read it.
Mr. Walters: Yes, Sir, I have seen it.
FATHER: Sure. And then I sent a Message to the different ones
Mr. Isles: Hirohito.
FATHER: Hirohito, that's right. There is one of the facsimiles over on the wall right there. (FATHER indicates a framed enlarged copy of same upon the wall as HE says:) That was a Message I sent to Hirohito and I declared Scripturally, according to the Scripture, that they would surrender unconditionally. I AM very insignificant to be considered and to be speaking as I have spoken and as I AM speaking, but savagery and inhumanity shall not have access among this people!
I sent the Message to them and when they refused to take cognizance of My Message, I then said, 'Everybody buy Bonds! Let all the Allies unite consolidatedly and buy Bonds unlimitedly! The Axis will surrender unconditionally! 'How do YOU know that,? Some said. Well, we had Scripture for it. It was not a suppositional prediction, it was a Scriptural prediction, for CHRIST did say,
'When one king goes to make war with another king and he finds his adversary has twenty thousand when he only has ten thousand, he will send an ambassage desiring conditions of Peace!'
This is not a supposition! So when I requested everybody not just those of My
Followers and members alone to buy Bonds unlimitedly but I said,
'Let all of the Allies unite consolidatedly and buy bonds unlimitedly. The Axis will surrender unconditionally!'
Individually, or as an individual, I AM not afraid to go up against any nation,
language, tongue or people, or any united nations, if they unite if they rise
in opposition with savagery, brutality and inhumanity as Hitler, Mussolini and
Tojo did I AM not afraid of them doing a thing to ME, as an Individual. They
can't do it! Aren't you glad! ('So glad!' we declared). For it is written in
the Scripture:
'Greater is HE that is within you than all they that are against you!'
So, if you have this Truth and let this Truth abide in you, since GOD is Impersonal
and Universal, it will do the same for you as it will do for ME Personally! See
the mystery? Accept of these thoughts and use it in the time of any emergency,
as it was with Captain Bray coming over here! He sent ME a telegram telling ME
he was coming. He said, 'Why not come on?' He wanted them to come on, over and
above what the conditions of the air and how the ceiling was! He knew that he
would be protected and those that were with him would be protected! And think
of how one of the airships that started off at the same time, he said they had
a crash before they left the ground! He said it was fortunate that no one got
hurt at that time. But his Faith was such that he knew they would be protected
and his ship would be protected!
Both he and his brother are on different ships. Since they have known ME, even before they ever saw ME Personally, both he and his brother and thousands and thousands even in Australia who have never seen ME Personally, they know they are protected!
So Captain Bray's ship this one has been protected since they have known of ME and it has been protected now and his brother is the same way! It is wonderful! And when something can change, as you say, a hard, deep-sea sailor, you know it takes something more than mortal to command to do that! But it was not ME as a Person. It was not anything I did as a Person for I tell people in Europe, Asia and Africa and all over, it is not anything I do as a Person, but if you contact ME mentally and spiritually conscientiously and sincerely, sympathetically and harmoniously, Democratically and Evangelically, I will reach your condition, matters not whatsoever your ailment may be! but not physically or Personally for I do not use material methods neither do I make a physical effort and I do not use material remedies to reach the condition of the people. But as it is written,
'It is not by power nor by might, but by My Spirit, says the LORD GOD of Hosts!'
My Spirit will do it, for this is the same Spirit! You can have it too every
one of you! It is the Same Spirit that moved out upon the face of the waters,
according to the historians or according to the King James version of the Holy
Bible, and said,
'Let there be Light and there was Light!'
It is wonderful! It is the same spirit today! It is in you and it is in ALL if
they can and will but use it!
Just like it was with the Atom bomb! The energy was there but people did not know how to get it out to get the energy out of it or into it to make the most profound explosive ever read of! It is wonderful! So, GOD in the midst of you is Mighty to Save, and if you can and will get out of that Life in you and put it into practice that Something that will give you the Victory it is Operative and Expressive for you as well as it is for others, for it is Impersonal by nature!
That is why a good many of the metaphysicians say, as many of them have come to ME and said, 'FATHER DIVINE is the Master of All Metaphysics; and not only so, but is the Master Metaphysician!' because they had studied the Masters of the Far East, from India and other occults as they are called, and the different religions of High Law, and they have declared they found in ME, insignificantly functioning, and in little insignificant America, that Something they had been seeking for eons of years. It was There!
Hagar, when she sought water for her boy, for her lad when she looked around, the well was there! When you look about yourself you will find GOD is there and here and everywhere, ready and willing to save you and Save you to the Uttermost in the time of emergency physically, mentally and spiritually and from every angle expressible, because GOD is the Creator with or without a Body, according to the Bible!
Now, when I speak on thuswise, at times I think of science. Science does not believe so much, as I might say, in the truth of the Bible, some of the time. But anything is true when it is true to you and to those who are convicted and converted under it! Then, I speak from the Bible according to the Gospel and according to King James' version of the Bible and I get results! I get answers! I get perfect results!
And 'according to the historians' I often say. I use that phrase, because some may say, 'Well, science says this and science says that. It was never such a thing as four thousand and four years, B.J., before Jesus or before CHRIST, as it is called, that GOD moved out upon the face of the water and began the creation of the world! That would make this earth not more than four thousand or six thousand years four thousand years before Jesus, or a little more! ' But I don't argue with them. I say, 'According to the Bible according to the King James version of the Bible,' and I believe it because I have used it to that effect and I get results to that extent! But if we take it from a scientific point of view and as the scientists do, we may not observe it from that viewpoint! But it is true, in My version, just the same, and we get the results, because the Spirit makes it True!
Now according to the Bible the Spirit of the LORD moved out upon the face of the water and began its creation of all creation, and the same Spirit was breathed into man, saying, 'Let us make man in Our Own Image and Likeness!' That same Spirit and Likeness was breathed in him. It was GOD HIMSELF breathed in Adam the breath of life and the man became a living soul! The same spirit is in each of you as living creatures! Paul puts it in the Gospel Epistle of the Apostles:
'To whom GOD will make known what is the riches of His Glory among all the Gentiles, which is CHRIST in you, the Hope of Glory!'
So it was CHRIST in you!
(And with this last dynamic revelation burning deep within the minds of all present, consciously or unconsciously looking upon the GOD of their salvation, FATHER ceased speaking thus terminating this significant Office Conference).
