FATHER DIVINE Speaking
at the Table, Tarrytown, N. Y.
GOD makes all things serve His purpose, and from testimonies He extracts thoughts which can be conveyed and explained for the benefit of all humanity. Two such testimonies in particular on this occasion brought out points that were far reaching when used as illustrations by our LORD and Savior, FATHER DIVINE. The first of these speakers confessed to having been a number racket fiend before being redeemed by FATHER, stating that she even went so far as to gamble on His former telephone number, street address number and the number of the license plates on His car. The second speaker told, among other things, of having recovered her pocketbook after losing it apparently many times in public places, twice finding the eighty dollars and ninety dollars it contained intact. For Thy Ever Presence in our hour of need, Blessed LORD we truly thank Thee! (The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and FATHER'S Message follows:)
PEACE, EVERYONE! As the last speaker was speaking, someone thought she would be careful in making such a statement as having eighty to ninety dollars in her purse at several different intervals, and carrying it around with her. But while you had that thought, that was a human thought, not knowing that GOD can take care of the money just as effectively with the general public knowing definitely she had it on her, as He could when it was lost in the public street or highway.
'If GOD is for you, none can be against you,'
and nothing is lost in the great Universal Mind Substance if you are whole-heartedly
consecrated and live according to the Teaching; for GOD is your Refuge, your
Strength and your Protection.
While listening to the one who mentioned the sweepstakes and also mentioned the playing of the numbers and using My telephone number and My former address street number for the purpose of playing the numbers, I thought how marvelous it is and what a difference it is between MYSELF and the majority of the preachers. A good many of the preachers will give you numbers to play, and then you are supposed to give them so much of what you win. A good many of them will give you numbers to play, and even have your children to play them and figure on their getting so much of what you win.
But just to the extreme reverse of such an expression, just what you could have gained or could have won through racketeering in the way of playing the numbers and the sweepstakes racket and any other dishonest and fraudulent system of robbing the public; just whatsoever you could have gained and I could have gained, I have gained an hundred times as much over and over again for the sacrifice of such a thing.
These thoughts are well worth considering if you will take cognizance of it and consider it; how GOD works in a mysterious way and will supply you with everything necessary to meet every emergency and satisfy every good desire. Truly might have I said by composition as a motto for your consideration and the consideration of all creation:
'The Spirit of the consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the Source of all supply and it will satisfy every good desire.'
This is not merely a composition as a motto for reiteration but it is a composition as a conscious conviction and as a prediction of the Spirit of Truth more expressively perfect than that of the prophets of the prophetic age. Oh, how glorious it is to realize the Spirit of Truth speaketh on thuswise:
'If you continue in My Word you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free.'
The Truth is that you are lifted above materialism, above doubts and fears and above limitations by the recognition and the conscious realization of GOD'S Actual Presence, knowing GOD will be your protection in every need and in every opposition; knowing GOD is with you now, henceforth and forever; expressing and manifesting the superlative in every manner of expression; for GOD is Supreme and HE expresses His Supremacy from every angle because HE is Supreme and those who live in HIM will express His Supremacy transmitted that they might prove to the world HE is Supreme over every opposition.
Trials and tribulations, lacks, wants and limitations and all adverse and undesirable conditions may arise, but if you are conscious of GOD's Actual Presence and are in Harmony with His Spirit, His Mind and His Teaching, you will Unify with His divers versions concerning His Love, Mercy and Compassion; and yet He requires you to make such sacrifices as HE required of those in the days of old; but by such sacrifices you make for the Love of GOD, you will gain an hundredfold more.
There are so many things I could say along this line, but as I said, I listened and I thought to say: because of My denial of you and of yours receiving or seeking anything dishonestly, fraudulently and incompetently, I brought before My Mind's Eye at that instance the reason for this, My present Residence and this present Banquet Table and My immediate Family, and every other necessary comfort the convenience for them, is because of My Version concerning Honesty, Competence, and Truth and My Version concerning what I consider you should do how you should deny yourself of every dishonest trait or tendency even though those traits and tendencies have been handed down traditionally.
Hereditively you have brought into your daily experience some preconceived fancy or tendency, some sense of feeling of love for money, for filthy lucre; to get something dishonestly to beat the other fellow to it. By nature prenatally you have been inclined to do it; but oh, how glorious it is to be Born Again! A New Birth that will lift you out of that rut of human superstition, calling yourself intelligent and as one having wisdom! Such an expression has been transmitted to the nations in every generation, not only the nations in every generation presently considered; but even in every dispensation since the beginning of the creation.
Oh, how glorious it is to be lifted and emancipated from those preconceived tendencies that only lend to you the seed idea of disappointment and failure, for you will develop such in your future experience if you continue in such a version. So then, while sitting and listening to the statement of the speakers mentioning the sweepstakes and playing the numbers I thought how I stopped millions from playing the numbers, from the sweepstakes and from other systems of gambling, form the petty crap shooter on the street corner to the gambling in the stock markets and other systems of gambling and racketeering in the way of dishonesty, incompetence and untruth; trying to put something over on the other fellow; trying to outdo your fellow competitor and you as a competitor endeavoring to be a competitor to him; therefore you say at times, "Competition is keen," hence, you must be more shrewd than they and do everything you can to take the advantage of your fellow men.
What are you doing? That which you are sowing there and then, you will surely reap again. So I thought as I spoke volitionally, spontaneously and dynamically with some expression of Mine as a salutation in other words as an expression when I spoke and all moved volitionally It was a thought coming forth or I sent forth into expression: What caused you all under My Jurisdiction to have a-full and a-plenty to eat, to drink and to wear in comfort and convenience and under the best of care, whilst others are starving? And My thought came forth for consideration. "Why is it the preachers are in lacks, wants and limitations?
Why is it they cannot get food to eat for themselves and even for their immediate little limited family maybe a child and a companion? Why is it they cannot meet these daily obligations? Because of the spirit of dishonesty, incompetence and untruth that they have produced and brought to fruition, and sowed the seeds of such in you and in others and endorsed you to do such things that would not be according to the system and the plan of the ALMIGHTY.
Oh, how glorious it is to realize, for the sacrifice of every prospect of every dollar, I must gain in turn such values as could be deemed an hundred times as much as every dollar I could have gained or could have earned by some dishonest method of men. But by the sacrifice of such, you see it as it is, as an abstract expression as a sketch and a reflection of a percent of a fraction of a grain of what I AM actually doing among the children of men, and transmitting through you to them that they might copy after this fashion and be as I AM.
Why live in lacks, wants and limitations? Why live in disaster, despair, confusion and depression when GOD is your Refuge and your Strength and Protection? If you will but trust HIM, GOD will supernaturally help you and will be there in every time of need, ready to rescue you! Truly might have I said by composition as another motto for your consideration of what we are presently experiencing while we sit and dine, yea, while we are dining:
'The abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good, no space is vacant of the fullness thereof.'
Can you not see from a psychological point of view that that assertion, even though it is a motto and a composition, is a reality? Can you not see, by your very presence personally and physically collectively, you are helping to fulfill that motto-ic prediction, assertion and declaration?
'The abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good, no space is vacant of the fullness thereof.'
I AM fulfilling in your presence with you and by others physically, that especial assertion. You can see the abundance of the fullness of you all presently physically, even so abundantly and bountifully is filled the room in which you are standing, no space is vacant of you as persons and individuals of the fullness hereof; because that declaration and assertion and inspirationic, compositionic prediction is a reality and you are in the number to fulfill it. This is the physical fulfillment of the mystery as a prediction and the fulfillment of the mystery, as you express it physically, of the assertion and the declaration.
The abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good the children of men, the physical bodies in this dining room, you all are expressing and manifesting and fulfilling My prediction, My assertion and My declaration, for food and for comfort and for convenience the same. It is applicable, expressive and operative and it is to be fulfilled from every angle expressible. You can see I AM the Fulfiller the abundance of the fullness of the table spread with every comfort and every convenience and all necessary food of the various varieties for each and everybody you can see My prediction, My assertion, My declaration I have fulfilled. From that point of view you know it is true. Aren't you glad?

of gab, if you please, if you take it from ME from that angle of Expression,
if such slang I AM permitted to use for an illustration of parables and of words
to be given to the general public and to you; for I carry in My Consciousness
the abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good.
From a literary point of view if you stop and consider, if you please, THE NEW DAY as a slight sketch and a reflection of what I AM telling you, as it carries My Message verbatim from a literary point of view, I AM telling you I carry in My consciousness
'The abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good, no space is vacant of the fullness thereof.'
Politically, socially, economically, legally, inspirationally and from every other angle expressible, even compositionally as mottoes and songs and praise, poems and poetry and rhythm; I carry in My consciousness and in My expression, in My present activities, the abundance of the fullness for all of the people.
Then I say, no space is vacant of the fullness thereof. Hence, as I thought, I spoke volitionally as an assertion I made when all moved; because it was an expression that was made from the sincerity of the Spirit of GOD'S Actual Presence, it ran from the heart of the Infinite One and touched the hearts and minds of His Children. It caused them to move volitionally because it touches that inner inspirationic expression of GOD within; therefore, you moved volitionally and you cannot help yourself from doing it. Aren't you glad?
But when you think of how others would have been to you I mean other ministers would have told you, "Why, I will give you a number," instead of you stealing My number, My telephone number, stealing My street house number. My Spirit, when I brought it to My consideration, I let you know I would not even want you in My Presence nor any other person who would try to get something for nothing dishonestly by the system or custom of gambling in the act of playing the numbers, playing the sweepstakes or otherwise horse races and gambling from any angle expressible.
All of what I could have gained, I made a sacrifice of it in the making and in the establishment of the foundation of this Kingdom all such had been made a sacrifice of for the Redemption of all humanity. Aren't you glad? By this we are rejoicing and we are exceedingly glad to stand alone, as I AM Independent, absolutely independent from every angle expressible, and cause My millions and millions of followers to be independent even as I AM and walk in the light I have given. How glorious it is to live in this recognition! How glorious it is to be Free from graft and greed, from dishonesty, incompetence and untruth! How glorious it is to know from a temperance point of view you can say, "I am a teetotal abstainer from all intoxicating liquors!"
'I drink no cider, wine or beer, my mind is fleet and my brains are clear.'
Aren't you glad?
To make such sacrifices of worldly fancies and tendencies and pleasures for Righteousness' sake you gain an hundred times as much in return for such sacrifices you are making. Aside from that you are redeemed from the curse of mortality's d-nation, and GOD HIMSELF has become to be your real Salvation! I thank you.
