MOTHER DIVINE:
"From the time that we have any record of FATHER DIVINE'S Personal Ministry, there were actually millions of people who had been convicted that HE IS GOD 1NCARNATE- the Second coming of CHRIST to the Christian world and the coming of the Messiah to the Jewish world. This Spiritual Awakening took place, not just in the United States on the eastern seaboard-but on the five continents, people received the same revelation.
"The girl I went to junior high school with, her sister and her mother, had this Conviction and had been followers of FATHER DIVINE for two years when they told ME in 1940 about FATHER DIVINE and the activities of the Peace Mission. Having been raised in a normal, happy, Christian home and being still a teenager, I had no reason to seek the deeper Truths of Life. However World War 11 was at its height. Hitler had taken t@e countries in continental Europe and had launched an all out warfare on London, hoping to take Great Britain. Living with all the ramifications of war had a great impact on My thinking, and I pondered what life was really all about.
"FATHER DIVINE was Teaching and Demonstrating the answer to the war torn world's problems. The Brotherhood of Man made a reality through the Conscious Recognition of the Fatherhood of GOD and the Peace each individual and each nation sorely wanted and needed, came through sincerely and completely living the Life of CHRIST. I immediately witnessed that FATHER DIVINE was doing everything JESUS CHRIST did on earth, and more. From that day, when I was first given an introduction to FATHER until today, the more I learn and understand FATHER DIVINE and Who HE IS and What HE is all about, the more I AM CONVINCED of His Deity
The Judeo Christian laws, philosophy and ethics were the basis of Western civilization. It is the foundation upon which families, communities, states and nations have been formed, have grown and flourished. But as we have prospered and become more materially affluent and worldly wise, these Principles that clearly define right and wrong, and profoundly engender Faith and Belief in the Sovereignty of the Creator, have been adulterated, corrupted and given over to secular humanism-the belief that man is sovereign. Mankind in selfish pursuit of human love and acceptance, physical comfort, convenience and pleasure had been mentally and spiritually blinded-and consequently been denied the knowledge of the Truth that will set them free from the curse of death and all limitations, adverse and undesirable conditions, that the unawakened human consciousness brings.
"FATHER DIVINE'S Teaching was not some new doctrine. It was simply bringing us back to the plain, simple Truth Jesus taught and to the Principles and Laws of American society as legalized in the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights and Amendments, that were laid down by our Founding Fathers. To be a Follower, one would simply read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John of the King James version of the Holy Bible and make up one's mind to pattern one's life after the Holiness of Jesus and the Virginity of Mary. This I did. The Scriptures took on a new and heightened meaning and clarity as I contemplated GOD on earth with us in the Fathership Degree, and I read FATHER DIVINE'S Sermons in The New Day that made them plain-oh, so plain. As it is written:
'Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth." John 16:13'"
"I was thrilled with the Truth that was revealed to ME as I read again the first four chapters of Genesis. I understood that Adam and Eve were with GOD in the Garden of Eden. They enjoyed His Presence until they separated themselves from HIM by disobedience to His Command, by knowing good and evil, and by being deceitful. I understood that because they had a consciousness of good and evil, GOD drove them out of His Presence-
'. . .lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever." Genesis 3:22
I understood it took the Sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross to open the way for man to be redeemed from the state of consciousness Adam and Eve had and be admitted back into GOD'S Presence once again, and have the privilege to live Eternally-physically, not just mentally and spiritually. I understood the curse that GOD placed upon Adam was that the ground was cursed for his sake, and that in sorrow and by the sweat of his brow he would live until he returned to the dust from whence he came. I understood that Eve and all womankind would bring forth children in sorrow and pain, and her desire would be unto her husband, and he would rule over her. I understood as never before that in the Adam state of consciousness, all men and women die, but in the Consciousness of JESUS CHRIST, all are made alive and redeemed unto Eternal Life in our bodies, to remain here on earth in Heaven.
"I understood that when man fell from grace, he came under the law of the animal life. He is born of fleshly parents into a family of sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins that have descended from other generations. He matures, finds a mate and gives birth to more of his kind. Then he degenerates, sickens and dies like all who have gone before him and like all animals of the animal kingdom. He finds perpetuity or eternal life as he sees it in those he gives birth to and rears in his image and likeness.
"This way of life generates selfish egotism, self protection and preservation for man and his kind. This develops into MY family, MY race, MY nationality, MY class, MY likes and MY dislikes. All this brings confusion, hatred, division, strife, warfare and bloodshed-a life no higher than the animal kingdom, and oft times a life worse than an animal, because of the power of the brain that GOD gave man.
"Because man was created in the image of GOD, he has done great and marvelous things, and GOD has used him in the creation of many wonderful inventions contributing to the advancement and development of life on the planet. However, because of his taking the glory unto himself and failing to be submissive to GOD'S Law, His Plan and Purpose, he is walking in darkness and creating his own destruction."
"To all those who had the revelation and conviction of FATHER DIVINE'S Deity and were sincere in following His Teaching, we knew it was imperative that we have the conviction within ourselves that whatever FATHER DIVINE said was RIGHT, and that we live accurately whatever HE taught. In other words, "If GOD is here, we must obey HIM and do what HE says. Look what our ideas, opinions and human ways have brought us." The human, mortal mind says it is impossible to live a perfect, impersonal life as Jesus did and as HE requested us to do when HE said.
'Be ye also perfect, even as your FATHER which is in Heaven is Perfect.'
The flesh is weak, and we of ourselves, we could not do it. We cannot overcome our human nature and come out of the mortal, carnal, natural life, unless we make our mental and spiritual contact with GOD.
"This is why GOD gave us His Son Jesus, as a Sample and Example and why HE came in these latter days in the Fathership Degree to emphasize the Life and Teaching of JESUS CHRIST and to give us the Power to bring our bodies into subjection and deny ourselves in the RIGHT Way and lose our identity to the flesh and all it is heir to, by conforming and identifying only with the Spirit and Mind and Person of GOD.
"To do this, it means dying in every sense of the word-except physically. It means the crucifixion of self in every way. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, but we individually must take up our cross and go cross-grained to all the systems and versions of men, cross grained to our human nature and all its connections. In Matthew, it is recorded that Jesus went so far as to say:
'And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life." Matthew 19:29
This is the way to be redeemed and be resurrected in the CHRIST Consciousness where we have the hope of being One with our GOD as Jesus, the first born among many brethren is One with His FATHER. This will take place in our physical bodily forms if we are willing to die to the flesh instead of dying daily in the flesh until we are six feet under. This means putting off mortality's ideas and opinions with all of the customs and systems of men, and putting on the immortal Spirit and Mind of CHRIST.
"To bring this about, a great transformation must take place in believing, thinking and living. We must allow this to happen in each one of us. We must literally die to the old and be born into the new. The catalyst for change is the Conviction that FATHER DIVINE IS GOD!"
"Knowing GOD is present with us here on earth and concentrating on HIM, His Life and Teaching, we knew HE would transmit His Spirit to us and cause us to live the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of GOD, and HE would give us the power to live a virtuous, celibate, evangelical life right here and right now.
"Paul was a confirmed bachelor. He wrote to the Corinthians:
'It is good for a man not to touch a woman. ... For I would that all men were even as I myself.... I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I." I Corinthians 7:1,7-8
As we endeavored to live each and every day in the Consciousness of GOD's Actual Presence, we would be blessed with the faith and understanding to trust his Infinite Spirit to provide for all of our needs, because we would refuse to own anything personally, and we would give our service to the Church freely and without thought of remuneration.
"This great awakening to the Truth of Life as recorded in the Bible-the quickening of the Holy Spirit that bore witness within us-the revelation of how the world could be if everyone realized GOD is the FATHER, and they are in reality Spiritual Beings-and how it will be now that GOD in the Person of FATHER DIVINE has paid the price to unite Heaven and earth-all made great sense to ME and to all the True followers of FATHER DIVINE. It is a religious Conviction that inspired and compelled our Love and Devotion and complete surrender to the INFINITE PRINCIPLE of Life-to GOD, FATHER DIVINE'S Plan and Purpose for the Redemption of Mankind and the Reality of Heaven on Earth!

"When you consider the significance of this Marriage, you know that it concerns you- which is to say, it concerns all mankind. It means that I have chosen MOTHER from among you as the One Who is worthy to bear My name, and One Who has fulfilled Her mission and calling to the letter.
"As MOTHER follows ME, so should each and all follow HER, follow in Her footsteps that is, mentally and spiritually. Walk in the Way of Holiness, and live in Purity and Truth from every angle expressible. MOTHER has shown the world how to overcome by perfect concentration on ME. SHE rules out every thought of materialism and refuses to weigh any mind or spirit contrary to the Spirit of My Mind and the Mind of My Spirit.
"Like the Virgin Mary of nineteen hundred years ago, MOTHER thinks above mortality. SHE keeps Her mind lifted from every sense of human limitation, and thereby SHE abides in the mental and spiritual realm of consciousness where I AM. This is the CHRIST Consciousness in expression within HER. SHE has brought it to fruition in Her Life and experience as the perfect Sample of how all others should think and do and live the same. For this cause, I AM well pleased with My Bride!"
