FATHER and MOTHER DIVINE
On Wednesday, August 3rd, at three-thirty P.M., FATHER paid one of His frequent visits to the regular meeting in the church at Union and Green Streets, Newark, New Jersey. These meetings go on regularly with or without FATHER'S Personal Presence, and wonderful healings and blessings are poured out. When FATHER is not Personally present the blessings flow just the same, free for one and free for all, and the church is always crowded with joyous, praise-giving souls rejoicing in FATHER'S Spirit, but where HE appears in Person, the fire that has been burning in their hearts bursts forth beyond all bounds.
Bishop Selkridge reopened the meeting which had been in recess when FATHER and his party arrived.
FATHER sang:
'Peace, peace, peace and joy, peace and joy,
Peace and joy, and health and love,
Peace within these walls.'
This brought forth a great demonstration and high vibrations of the Spirit that
lasted for fully a quarter of an hour, after which FATHER arose and spoke as
follows:
"It's peace and it's joy, peace and joy, peace and joy, and health and love, Peace within these walls." I said, "Peace and joy and health and love, peace and joy, peace and joy. Peace and joy and health and love. Peace be within these walls." (Great demonstration) It is truly wonderful! Now aren't you glad?
We are glad to be here and to hear so many wonderful testimonies of which you may term it to be message of Life to the children of men. And therefore, I do not have to Personally speak to them individually, because I AM speaking now through the lives and the hearts and deeds and actions of you all.
It is wonderful to know that
'. . . you are the temples of the living God; and God has said, I will walk in them, and dwell in them.'
But first
'. . . come out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not any unclean thing; and I will receive you . . . and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.'
Now that is what all of this is about, because you came out from among them and
you began not to touch any unclean thing. It is Wonderful! And then GOD began
to receive you, and then you began to be adopted into the Royal Family; and then
you became to be the sons and daughters of GOD, says the LORD Almighty. And that
is what all of this is about, because you are being called out of mortality to
true spirituality - - called out of mortality into true spirituality, and out
of the flesh into the Spirit. And you know it has always been like that -- any
time anything is going to be born, or anything is going to be hatched out, there
must be some resistance going on. If there seems to be any resistance, that resistance
exists in the opposition that is within yourselves and among yourselves. It is
Wonderful!
For to be born -- anything to be born -- there must be some disturbance there. You all know about that; some of you have been mothers. It is Wonderful! Some of you have been farmers; some of you know about the poultry farms; some of you know about the stock yards; some of you know a little about vegetation. The animal kingdom, it is moved, yea, even the mineral kingdom. If there is anything that the mineral kingdom is to give birth to, why, there must be a disturbance there. It is Wonderful!
Now, I want to get your mind, and get your minds together as a committee of one to really know the Truth of GOD. It has always been when there was anything planted, even in the mineral kingdom, as I before said, when anything is to come out of mineralism into true vegetationism, there must be a disturbance down there in the ground. It is Wonderful! The ground does not desire to give her up, but vegetation begins to move. Why? Because the cosmic forces of nature have begun to move around down there. Even if it is dry ground, it makes no difference to ME because
'He shall grow up as a tender plant out of dry ground.'
It is Wonderful!
Something has happened on the scene, don't you know, just a little while ago, as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground, and that is what this is all about, that is what is the matter. The earth don't want to give up. The mineral kingdom, I say, it doesn't want to give up. The vegetable kingdom has condescended to send her seed down to the mineral kingdom, which must give up. That is the seed from the vegetable kingdom that is going down in the mineral kingdom, and it must give up! It must give up! It is Wonderful! She must give up her dead! Must give up! Therefore there is a disturbance down there -- the minerals trying to hold vegetation down. Vegetation came from above anyway. It came from the vegetable kingdom which is above the mineral kingdom, and it -- and it tries not to give up, don't you see. It is Wonderful! It tries not to give up the vegetable seed -- don't want to give it up -- but it must give up, therefore there is a disturbance down there in the earth.
The vegetable kingdom, I said, sent her seed to the earth. And then when Mother Nature calls for the vegetable kingdom's seed to bring forth her plants and her herbs, then the minerals don't want to give her up; they try to hold her down there because they think they had a claim on her first. She has been taught that from dust the vegetable came, and to dust the vegetable must return, and she thinks that she belongs to her and therefore she doesn't want to give up. But when GOD in the spirit and in the life of the vegetable kingdom has produced that seed, don't you see, and still is its life there in the vegetable kingdom's seed and has gone down in the mineral kingdom, why, she must give up, for the life is GOD. It is Wonderful!
And that life in the vegetable kingdom's seed has manifested and expressed itself one step higher than that life that is in the mineral kingdom, and therefore that higher life must bring forth fruit unto a higher expression of life than that of the vegetable kingdom. But the mineral kingdom doesn't want to give up. Get ME there! I may have said, a higher expression than the vegetable kingdom, but I meant to say, a higher expression than the mineral kingdom.
And therefore there is a warfare there, and whenever you see a disturbance apparently, there is something getting ready to be born. It is Wonderful! In all of the expressions of the vegetable kingdom, when any and all of the seeds of the earth are produced and planted, or returned back to the earth to produce the fruit of the seed after its kind, why then and there, or soon thereafter, there is a disturbance in the earth. The earth don't want to give up. It wants to hold them. But there is a power in the seed that came from a higher expression of life than that which is in the lower expression of life.
Hence, that life that is in the seed from the vegetable kingdom will produce itself in a developed degree of expression to unfold itself in a higher light of understanding than that in the mineral kingdom, and therefore the mineral cannot hold it down there. That is step by step. That is the first step. The same life in the vegetable kingdom is coming down from the mineral kingdom. Many times the vegetable kingdom tries to hold the life of the mineral kingdom down in itself, but it must give its life up for there is a higher intelligence of life or understanding than that same light that is brought into manifestation in the vegetable kingdom, therefore, it must give up. And as in the mineral kingdom, so in the man kingdom. Man may condescend to contact the level of the beast, the animal kingdom, and the animal kingdom will try to hold the life of those that are expressed from the man kingdom down in the animal kingdom. It will try to hold them down in the animal kingdom. It is Wonderful! But there must be a warfare, and it must give up!
All right! Stop and listen to what the Spirit says unto the churches. Humanity has fallen below the level of the beast and has condescended to produce her seed and give her seed to the animal appetites and the animal appetites don't want to give up the spirit of life, of GOD. It is Wonderful! That is the warfare just now. It is Wonderful! The Spirit of Life, which is the Spirit of the Cross that has appeared unto all men, teaching them to deny ungodliness and worldly lust, that they might live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world, the animal appetites don't want to give it up. It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful!
Truly might have John said on one occasion,
'Babylon is fallen, is fallen, is fallen . . . for she has made all nations drunk with the wine and the wrath of her fornication.'
They don't want to give it up. The Life of GOD in the seed of man -- It is Wonderful!
It is Wonderful! -- that has fallen! The seed of man, I said, that has fallen
to the animal appetites, and has been bound in the animal appetites, why, it
has got to give up its dead. That is what the warfare is just now, because it
has got to give up. It has got to give it up! It must give it up! It shall give
it up! It has to give it up! It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful!! It is Wonderful!!!
The seed, the seed idea of CHRIST that is in man has fallen, I say, to the level
of the beast, and it has been swallowed up in materialism, in the animal appetites,
and it has sought -- and the animal appetites have sought to maintain her and
to keep her there from rising. Now aren't you glad? It is Wonderful! Aren't you
glad? For she must give up! I say the animal appetites must give up the seed
of GOD. There is a birth; there is a birth I say, and there is a disturbance
any time anything is to be born. And because it has to be born now -- because
the seed of man has to be born now, and not to be born by the will of the flesh,
nor by the will of man, but of GOD -- there is a disturbance. That is what is
the matter. But I shall give birth to her. It is Wonderful! I shall give birth
to her! She must give up! The birth shall take place! It is Wonderful! It is
Wonderful!
The seed of man, the seed of GOD as being called the seed of man, must be born out of materialism, must be born out of mortality, must be born out of the animal appetite and be born into the glorious liberty of the sons of GOD. That is what it is all about. I think I had better stop.
GOD made the true man in His own likeness and image, and man by rights was Divine. It is Wonderful! But he had fallen from his birthright and he became level with the beast, and therefore he became to be the direct expression of his own animal appetite and lust and passion and forms and fancies of all mortality and all carnality,
'And to be carnally minded is death . . . and the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD.'
I think I had better stop. It is Wonderful!
I just want to let the world know, and let all of the angels know why there is such a disturbance in mortality -- because they don't want to give up the Spirit of life that has condescended to impute itself there. It wants to hold the seed of life, the true Spirit and energy of the CHRIST, and it tries to keep it bound down in materialism and mortality and in the animal appetite. It is Wonderful! But I have come to draw them out of the animal appetite, and if they will not give birth I will operate upon it. It is Wonderful! I will perform an operation and I will take it out anyhow, for the Mouth of the LORD hath spoken it! It is Wonderful!
Now that is what is the matter. Now, dear ones, this may be a little deep for you, but I heard you say and I heard you sing,
'Where FATHER leads me, I will follow.'
You said,
'I will go with HIM, with HIM, all the way.'
If you didn't mean it you had no business to say it. I took you at your word,
therefore I shall draw you out of that animal appetite. I shall teach you to
'deny ungodliness and worldly lusts . . . to live soberly, righteously and godly, in this present world.'
That is what I will do, and I don't care anything about mortality raging. A birth
is taking place in the earth. It is Wonderful!
'Shall a nation be born in a day?'
Yea, the nation is born in a day, for I will give birth to it.
'And they shall all be taught of GOD.'
And they shall all be born of GOD.
'And their seed shall remain in them: and they cannot sin, for they are born of GOD.'
It is Wonderful!
Now, your seed will not fall below the level of the beast. Your seed will no longer fall to the level of the beast! Your seed will no longer fall down in the animal appetites. It is Wonderful! Your seed will no longer fall down in the animal appetites! Your seed will no longer fall into materialism. Your seed will no longer fall into mortality. Your seed will no longer fall into human affection. It is Wonderful! But your seed will remain in you, and then you cannot sin, for you are born of GOD, that is what it is all about! Mortality is raging, carnality is raging, materialism is raging, lust and passion are raging. It is Wonderful! But GOD is reigning King of kings, Lord of lords and GOD of gods; the conquering King having all dominion and all authority, verifying the statement of the CHRIST as He spoke,
'All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth;'
and by the mouth of John in Revelation, saying,
'I have the keys of h--l and of death . . .'
so, therefore,
'death and h--l shall give up their dead.'
It is wonderful! And your seed shall no more be found out of you, for you are
born of GOD and you cannot commit sin any more, for you are endued with the Spirit
of GOD and not with the spirit of Babylon, nor with the spirit of the world,
nor with the wine of her fornication, but with the wine of GOD, and your redemption
draweth near. That is what is the matter. It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful! Mortality,
materialism, carnality and the animal appetites, the animal affection, animal
lusts, animal passions try to hold you down in it, but it must give you up for
you are born of GOD. It is Wonderful!
Now sometimes it appears as if though it is not necessary for ME to say anything. It appears as if though I have said enough and that you all should be tired. It is Wonderful! But I came to say especially, that the animal appetite must give up the seed of GOD! It shall reign no more! The animal appetite shall have no more dominion over you. The animal appetite can no more hold you in the bowels of her womb but must give birth to you and set you free, that you may come out into the glorious liberty of the Sons of GOD. It is Wonderful!
Now take these thoughts in, dear ones! Every day you cause ME to say a word or two. I try to be quiet, but I wanted to let you know concerning the mystery of the trouble and the disturbance -- what caused the disturbance in any body -- I mean in the body of the mineral kingdom, the body of the vegetable kingdom, the body of the animal kingdom, the body of the man kingdom and the body of the GOD Kingdom.
In all of the bodies, or expressions of life there is a disturbance when one must give birth and be born out of a lower state of life into a higher state of life. Any time it is to be done, there is a disturbance in that body, and that is what all of this is about.
Now mortality is much disturbed, and materialism is much disturbed, and the animal appetite of all mortality is much disturbed because I AM taking the Spirit of CHRIST out of it and I AM making her give birth to it, and if she will not give birth to it, I will perform an operation. It is Wonderful! She must give up! She must give up! She must give up! It is Wonderful! I will perform an operation. That is what it is all about. It is wonderful!
Then I want to say that none of these things move ME. If you go to a maternity hospital, you do not have to think that you will not hear noises and crying and disturbances. You go to a maternity hospital! It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful! But remember, that with all the disturbances, the physicians are acquainted with that. GOD has always been acquainted with that when there was someone to be born of HIM. Then they must be born out of an undesirable condition. Mortality doesn't want to give up its conception. Materialism does not wish to give up its conception. The animal appetites, they do not wish to give up their conception as in the case of every birth. They do not wish to give up. By nature it is their duty to hold you as long as they can. But when the time is fully expired, when the hour is fully come, then and there, right here and right now this child must be born, or else -- I say, this child must be born, or else an operation I will perform. It is Wonderful!
Remember dear ones, that mortality conceived that -- the animal appetite conceived it. That is why the Word says on one occasion that you were
'. . . shapen in iniquity and born in sin.'
'In sin did my mother conceive me.'
It is Wonderful! Why? Because you were conceived in the animal appetite, in materialism,
in mortality, and by the carnal mind to be governed thereby.
'And to be carnally minded is death.'
Therefore,
'As the child draws its infant breath, the seed of sin grows up for death.'
Hence, truly might have Jesus, the great Love Master said,
'Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'
It is Wonderful! For he was born by the will of man, not by the will of GOD.
He was born by the will of the flesh, by the will of the flesh. And he was born
by the will of the d-v-l. That is why he must be born again, because he was born
in this and by this animal appetite, and he had never been born out of it until
CHRIST came and taught you how to be born of GOD. And then when you are born
of GOD, you will not commit sin, for you will not do as your fore-ancestors did
'. . . for your seed will remain in you: and you cannot sin, for you are born of God.'
It is Wonderful!
You will be born, I say, out of those appetites, and then and there and here and now shall have the Kingdom come unto you, for you have come out from among them and you will not touch the unclean thing, and GOD has received you and you are now the sons and daughters of GOD. It is Wonderful! Yea, even as I said last evening, you have been waiting for adoption, you have been
'groaning within yourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of the body . . . and to the manifestation of the sons of God.'
And now the sons of GOD are being manifested and the love that your FATHER has
bestowed upon you has brought you into expression, into manifestation, and you
can see now how you would appear, and what you would appeared to be, for you
begin to see HIM as HE is. Now aren't glad?
Take these thoughts in, dear ones. Live this Life accordingly, and you will be abundantly blessed and naught can make you tremble and naught can make you fear, the Mouth of the LORD hath spoken it, and GOD has wiped away all tears.
Now, in conclusion, I want to say that I sang a little song when I first came here, "It's peace and joy and health and love, Peace and joy, and health and love, Peace be within these walls." Now to you that believe, I do not have to say anything because you all can realize according to the present experience that nineteen hundred years ago,
'Dark was the night, And cold was the ground, Upon which our Lord was laid.'
The ground was awfully cold, was it not? But what did happen there?
'Great drops of sweat . . .'
in this perspiration? (Referring to perspiration due to the heat in the church.)
I do not have to say anything.
'Great drops of sweat like blood ran down . . .'
It is Wonderful! Therefore,
'Rejoice in the lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be made known to all men. The Lord is at hand.'
You know it is Wonderful! Do you not see the fulfillment of the scripture? You
know that the ground was even cold, and the Lord lay on the ground there, and
great drops of sweat like blood ran down, and it was cold. Well now, you might
know you all should sweat a little in here. It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful!
So when you happen to talk of CHRIST and get charged up with the current and
majesty of His infinite love and the fire that is burning on the altar of your
heart, consuming the dross, if there be any in you, why then and there and here
and now, great drops of sweat like blood will run down. No more in agony of dread,
but in joy and peace to reign and declare as the writer said on one occasion,
'Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer's praise.'
It is Wonderful! I will not say, "Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing," but
I will say, "Oh, for five million tongues to sing My great Redeemer's praise." It
is Wonderful!
Therefore, you will serve the LORD with gladness. You will enter into His courts with singing and into His gates with praise. And with thanksgiving, you will always enter into His Presence. Therefore, there will not be any sorrow, neither shall there be any more crying and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away and GOD has wiped all tears away, and CHRIST, your Savior has come to stay throughout eternity and therefore there shall be no more fears. You do not have to fear and you do not have to care what mortality says. As I often say, in carrying this Truth you must be valiant-hearted soldiers that are not afraid to die. If you could die for this Truth, you will live, and a hundred more like unto you. Greater is he that sacrificeth his life for righteousness' sake than he that sacrificeth for his own.
Therefore I say,
'Fear not, little flock; for it is your FATHER'S good pleasure to give you the kingdom.'
And as I have so often said when I was in the summer hotel, I mean in Riverhead
and Mineola, better known as jail, I said to them there, that if GOD could get
more pleasure out of My being there, I was not trying to go away. It is Wonderful!
If My Spirit could get more glory and I be better off, not only there but any
place of punishment, as may be termed punishment for the mortal mind that a person
could go -- and even unto death, as would be called death, persecutions, prosecutions
or executions -- to ME it is immaterial! None of those things can change ME!
It is Wonderful!
The more oppositions rise, the higher will be My expression and the higher will be my accomplishment, for I will wash them out in the Ocean Divine and I will sink them in the depths. So do not feel in any way disturbed by what mortality says, neither by what mortality does or can do, for there is no power given them except that which comes from you. It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful! All the GOD there is, is within you -- CHRIST in you and the CHRIST in ME. The same shall rule the whole universe, and every man or person or persons, organization, society or what not, that rises up against this Truth, they cannot stand, for at the command of GOD, they must bow. It is Wonderful!
Now, if it were possible that the five million that are believers in ME, and even more than that now, if it were possible that all of those bodies could be swept off the face of the earth, including this that you see as being called ME, that would not stop this progress, for I AM just as operative as I was when I, the CHRIST, was on the spiritual plane. It is Wonderful! I want you all to get the understanding of this Spirit and this Mind, that is just as operative without a Body as it is with the Body!
According to biblical history, the picture, sample and example of which you have borne witness as being in the Body, as being without a Body, in the beginning the Spirit of the LORD moved out upon the face of the deep and it said,
'Let dry land appear,'
and dry land took place. It came from some place. That is according to your biblical
history, and the same Spirit is speaking today. When it said,
'Let there be light," there was light.
As I before said, the light moves in darkness and the darkness cannot understand
it because it cannot understand the Voice that would call into actuality something
that would dismiss the darkness, and therefore it called into actuality something
that would dismiss the darkness. When it said,
'Let there be light,'
something came that would make the darkness disappear. Then the light appeared
and took place, and the darkness disappeared for there was no more darkness.
'In Him was life; and that life was the light of men.'
In Him was no darkness at all. Therefore, the Spirit is just as operative with
or without a body. You cannot hinder this Truth, you can only shipwreck yourselves
and hinder yourselves, for
'He that believeth . . . shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be d--ned.'
Now I do not have to do anything to you, I AM here to represent the Truth, and the Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD will take care of ME. It is Wonderful! You will be conscious of GOD'S Presence. Whether you believe, or don't believe, it is immaterial to ME. I shall make humanity know that GOD is present with them. I shall make believers know that GOD is present. I shall make the unbelievers know that GOD is present.
'. . . for they all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord," and, ". . . every knee must bow, and every tongue must confess.'
It is Wonderful! So take these thoughts into consideration, dear ones, and let
your light so shine before men.
Now again I want to say, you do not have to fight with the sword that perisheth. I did not need to say anything heretofore -- I have not been saying much. I mean as a Person I do not need to say much, for the Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD will speak and will act. It is Wonderful! And then and there and here and now, you and all men shall realize that something more than common is at hand. They all shall realize it. Those of you that have believed and do believe and are willing to deny yourselves and live in conformity to this Truth, you all will receive the abundance of the fullness of the consciousness of good. If you are sick you are made whole. I do not have to touch you or come near you, but believe on the LORD, JESUS CHRIST with all your heart, soul and mind, and you are saved. I will not say that you shall be saved, for you are saved. It is Wonderful!
Take these thoughts in, and as I said a little while ago, there are those that come here and think that if they can touch ME and lay hands on ME they will be blessed -- that I must touch them. GOD doesn't have to touch anybody! It is Wonderful! It is Wonderful! Now I hope you understand what I mean when I say, GOD doesn't have to touch anybody. GOD doesn't have to use any kind of material remedy or make any material effort, or use any kind of material method, for GOD is Spirit. GOD is Love and GOD is Infinite, Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent, hence, a present help in every need. Now GOD can touch your heart, but HE doesn't have to touch you with a physical touch, for it is,
'Not by power, nor by might, but by My spirit, says the LORD.'
It is Wonderful!
Now take these thoughts in, dear ones, and you will be born out of materialism, out of mortality, out of carnality and out of mortality, and out of all of the animal appetites which have been the ruination of the world. And as I said, when you go to the maternity hospital you will find there is a great disturbance there, but the physicians, they seem not to be disturbed because they know just exactly what to do. And so it is with CHRIST in you, and so it is with CHRIST in ME. We know exactly what is going on and we know that the disturbance is only in the mortal version of the human mind, and it is disturbed because a nation is being born -- a nation is being born in one day and they don't want to give up that "human-nation"; they don't want to be born out of the human appetite into the true spiritual Kingdom of GOD that they might live forever and ever and die no more. It is Wonderful!
