In this world of wars and chaos brought on by the selfishness, graft and greed, segregation, discrimination and class distinction of individuals firstly, and then nations, or vice versa, there shines a great Ray of Hope, the Light of Truth, a Beam of Righteousness. This Light, which is scattering these clouds of negation such as those above mentioned, is none other than the Personified Body of GOD Almighty, FATHER DIVINE, Who is daily proving by His Deeds and actuated Words of Expression, just Who HE Is! The millions and millions who follow His Teaching in minute detail and who adore and worship HIM and would sacrifice their life in an instant for HIM, are ample proof of His Deity.
What is the cause of the people of every so-called nation, language and tongue turning in this direction? It is because HE is presenting to the universe a Righteous Government and the Solution to the questioning of the minds of men as to how the same is to be brought about. HE is disclosing a simple and practical and profitable Plan for establishing World Peace and Democracy that cannot be refuted from any angle. That is why HE is called the Dean of the Universe!
FATHER DIVINE
On this day while in His Office, busily working as usual, FATHER began a discussion, which grew into this international address. HE spoke of the army and the navy, how millions and billions of dollars are spent on same and yet the country receives no interest or profitable return from them. Yet the country penalizes her citizens with heavy taxes to support what could be termed a national deficit; for as afore said, there is absolutely nothing constructive nor is there any profitable return or interest to be had from maintaining and army and navy, unless they were used for constructive purposes in the line of developing the country and countries; but its purpose is destruction, and it is well known that America is not an aggressive nation. America stands for Peace and Democracy and America's motto is "E Pluribus Unum."
FATHER, at this point, enlarges upon this idea and presents an airtight plan for economic safety and democracy, speaking firstly however, of how you penalize your country with heavy taxes and spend the money for the purpose of building something that is destructive and used for destruction, and the outcome of same.
FATHER: You destroy your natural resources and you also impoverish your country of its natural resources and also utilize your energy, ambition, talent, skill and ability of your citizens destructively. You use them not for the advancement of civilization but for the endorsement of barbarism; therefore it is something to consider. And if we see where we can nationally defend ourselves by this proposition as put forth to the republics of our American western hemisphere, we can do it without fear. (FATHER refers to His Plan for the unification of the three Americas by mutual agreement or else the purchase of Central and South America and their republics by our country.) We can enrich our countries as our country, or our country that was once countries; therefore we can and will advance scientifically through research work and use the talents of men constructively for the advancement of civilization and for moral betterment generally! It is something to consider! With this proposition put forth into expression instituted in our great Constitution, enacted and fulfilled in Congress, we would be able to rescue at least one hundred thousand with safe protection for their defense! We would be able to lift up a higher wage scale without the interference by outside representatives of the labor world, of unions and such like. We would be able to lift up a higher standard of the wage scale for the laborers in all parts of our American countries, of which would lift up a moral betterment generally, would advance the light of civilization; and science and invention would advance speedily by the inspiration that such a cooperative and scientific system would give them!
Secretary: YOU have opened so many new thoughts with that one idea!
FATHER: Positively! Capital and Labor would come in close fellowship together; not by the armies and the navies but by the Unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose and by Brotherly Love enacted in our American institutions!
How glorious it would be! Instead of digging our mines and drilling our wells and using our natural resources for destruction, we would use them constructively, in the advancement of developments and improvements in all of our land and country, to eliminate all unsanitary conditions presently existing, especially in some parts of this and the other countries. The slum clearance proposition would be solved; the labor problem would be solved, and the wage scale would be lifted throughout all of these Americas equivalently according to My Plan as it is in the northern states; and every American subject or person as a laborer would earn a wage according to his individual ability and according to his work and occupation, such as he would be filling.
We would not have any occasion for the foreign elements, in other words, the foreign minor dictators in the act of minor unions, of the spirit of such, to come in our democracy to interfere with us.
How marvelous it would be! The moral status of all of our American republics would be lifted by better living conditions for all of the people, by more comfort and more convenience, better food and better raiments, and by encouraging thrift and causing the people to be economical in their homes, business places and elsewhere and live Evangelically automatically by taking up the fragments that nothing be waste!
(At this point one of the secretaries made a remark concerning how the citizens of a country are influenced when children, by the environment of their surroundings, and grow up imbibing such, and how crime is bred among those whose surroundings are not what they should be. FATHER continues, saying:)
So long as there is the spirit of war and destruction in our government there will be the spirit of graft and greed, defraudery and robbery and other detestable tendencies of dishonesty existing among our citizens.
A Secretary: But if we did unite together, that in itself would be a breaking down of segregation, wouldn't it?
FATHER: Sure. As long as there is segregation and discrimination, class distinction and division among the nations, there will be segregation, discrimination, class distinction and division among the subjects of every nation; for as with a nation or government, so with the subjects of such under which they are living. They must automatically, consciously or unconsciously, take on the nature and the characteristics of the government under which they are living. They express it individually, severally and collectively among themselves even as the government expresses such characteristics nationally.
After every war there has always been a great output or outflow of banditry. They are taking on the nature and the spirit and the characteristics of the countries and nations with which they have been connected. So it is a wonderful thought to see what this really means! It is more than can just now be told. But enough can be brought out of our English vocabulary to convey a thought to all, of the significance of what I AM endeavoring by this proposition.
But the main thought is that in a great hemispheric nation as this one would be if all of these republics were united together, and the government itself will lift up a standard for her subjects to a degree where all able-bodied citizens without being placed under the government's employment jurisdiction or on the government's employment rolls, would have a chance to earn a livelihood and be independent and get a wage that would be equivalent to the wage scales lifted in the northern and northeastern states in the union; naturally it would give every person a chance morally as well as economically, socially and otherwise. It would put an end to social and organizational invasions by other nations sending in spies through different methods of the different fraternities of the different nations, under the guise of helping our American nation to a higher standard by better living conditions. You see that is what I know has been going on!
Where cometh these labor unions and other uprisings among the people of America? They had grounds to come in for the lack of justice being given to certain classes in and under our American Republic. But if there had not been class distinction and division and segregation, other spies could not have "union-ly" made their invasion of our country to undermine our American form of government and our democracy according to our plan and our purpose. So, you see, it is just wonderful.
Where cometh the labor unions and the other "protective" leagues and leagues for the defense of the common people -- the minorities, the under-privileged and the non-privileged? They have made their organizational invasions on this democracy and under this jurisdiction, a good many of them as spies, seeking to undermine the democracy!
Then, the gentlemen of Congress and the House of Representatives can see more distinctly the significance of My Righteous Government Platform, where I in My Righteous Government Platform apparently assail the unjust organization of unions that unjustly rule over the people, not for the betterment of them directly but to create insurrection among the nation!
(At this juncture one of the secretaries related hearing over the radio last evening, that now the employer could discriminate in the hiring of his help as to a union or a non-union worker. FATHER answered, saying:)
Well, that was passed upon here now since the light has been turned on concerning those who have attempted to undermine this democracy. If you notice it closely, the most of the uprisings within our nation are those of foreign descent -- those who are descendants from other countries and from other parties politically. This has been given leeway by our country failing to give justice to our subjects according to the Constitution and its Amendments; by failing to enact the Bill of Rights and recognize it in all of our states in the union in the actuated words of expression; by allowing segregation and discrimination and class distinction and division among the nations to be enacted governmentally in business, profession, labor and trade by our governmental forces and organizations; therefore they gave leeway for such organizations to come in that would be in opposition to the very fundamental, the Constitution and its Amendments, as an attempt to undermine our present democratic government!
Because this is a democracy and it gives every person the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press and the freedom of peaceful assembling, it is for this cause and by this the others who are in opposition to the very fundamental had a chance to come in; and by having an inlet through which they could come by our present government under this democracy refusing to give justice, a square deal, to her subjects and to those who are within her gates.
(One of the secretaries at this time made the statement that you could practically count on your hands the amount of Americans that run business in this country -- that most all were foreigners who headed business. FATHER continues:)
But even so, it would not be so bad if it were not that the foreign people are the ones who organize these unions and other fraternity organizations that are set up in opposition to the fundamental -- the government -- when it is worked out, when it comes to the surface, because there is a leeway given by the government of our country refusing to give every person an Equal Chance -- especially her subjects.
Therefore, as I said in My Righteous Government Platform, if any or either one of these great political powers that be -- those who are in power, would give Me or us something better than what the Communists offer, why, we are willing and ready to serve them! This does not say that the Communists are justified or that the Communists are good and honest, but what they offer is stressfully said, for they made an offer they cannot give. They offer Equality; they offer a fair and a square deal for everybody, but they cannot give it and they would not give it if they were in power! Nevertheless, they make that offer! The offer is justifiable, but not the party. They offer what the other parties should give when they are in power! They cannot give it and they would not give it if they were in power, therefore they are not justified in making such an offer, but the offer is justifiable!
(Another one of the secretaries spoke up, saying that in school they had learned that the two major parties that are in power take the best of the Communist's ideas and use them, yet they do not and will not give the Communists any recognition. FATHER continues:)
Well, such would be justifiable for them to believe all things and hold fast to that which is good. If the Communistic party would present something that either one of the major parties had not presented, they should accept of what they present and what they offer, if it is good, but not necessarily accept of them; for it may be adjudged that they are un-American
A Secretary: They could present some American ideas and yet not be Americans.
FATHER: They can present some constructive ideas that are according to the Constitution, of which is true, would be American when they present ideas according to the Bill of Rights, of which the parties in power from time to time never generally granted the American subjects of this American Republic! They pick out the points that the Bill of Rights gives that the administrations of our major parties of the different administrations have failed to give according to the Constitution. They hold them up as a standard to them as they would pretentiously offer, because they know that neither of these major parties have given the Bill of Rights in its entirety in all of these United States, in other words, in all of these States in the union. Therefore they pick out the points in the Bill of Rights whereby they can show the subjects of this democracy what they are not getting -- especially the common people, which is true -- but that does not justify the party unless they would do what they require you to do.
A Secretary: That is the answer to whether You are a Hitler or a Mussolini or not, as they call YOU.
FATHER: A greater than Mussolini-ism, Hitler-ism, Stalin-ism or Communism is here! A greater than any of them is here! But that which many of them may use, may be justifiable, but their general methods may be destructive, dishonest and untrue, for all you know, as far as you know. But we do know, if every American citizen would have the free access of expression in words, deeds and actions in this democracy and would have his rights according to the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and its Amendments, and would also have his or her independence and an equal chance without discrimination, segregation or class distinction on account of race, creed or color, why, then and there we would be protected effectively, whereby it would prohibit any other movement or any other element to enter these borders to interfere with this democracy!
But of course if they do not live according to the Constitution and its Amendments, the Bill of Rights, and give every person under this government their equal rights, naturally they will have uprisings from time to time, for they are not giving justice according to the plan and the purpose. They are divided against themselves in this American Republic, therefore the kingdom that divides against itself it cannot stand, and if it continues, it must fall. Even if it causes the complete loss or destruction of civilization, it must fall!
These remarks in conclusion are a Message for this Nation. It shall go forth to them as a warning that they must live according to the Constitution and according to the Amendments, the Bill of Rights, and according to the Declaration of Independence! I thank you!
This is a subject; this is a Message on national and international affairs with which we are concerned, and our present lives and our morals and affairs are involved!
