FATHER DIVINE
During the course of the Holy Communion, many beautiful inspirational compositions of songs and praises were sung in keeping with present day affairs as transmitted from FATHER'S Holy Spirit and Mind; and namely, this particular inspirational composition was stressful to be considered, 'Uncle Sam Got Converted', for it brought forth these profound Words of Spirit and Life from our Condescending Savior, for truly, HE has the scales of Justice in His Hand and HE is meting out Justice to whom it is due. In this profound Sermon, FATHER stresses how Uncle Sam got converted and started paying his old back bills, and how His Spirit has caused him to pay the Indians for land he had taken from them unjustly. This profound Sermon is well worth considering, and one and all should know from the least to the greatest, that GOD is here and this is His Administration, and HE is weighing each and everyone on the scale of Justice, and rewarding every man according as his works may be.
For Thy Words of Spirit and Life, Almighty GOD, we humbly thank THEE!
(The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and the following is the inspirational composition sung just before FATHER arose to speak:)
'It is stirring in the North, South, the East and the West,
this great Contagion of Righteousness!
It is stirring every heart, every home, every nest,
this great Contagion of Righteousness!
Uncle Sam got converted, Hallelujah!
He wanted to right all his wrongs;
he started paying his back bills.
Now that's doing GOD'S Will
and serving the Red, the White, the Blue!
It is causing each and everyone to be square and honest;
this great Contagion of Righteousness!
As with every individual, each nation must get
this great Contagion of Righteousness!
Uncle Sam got converted, Hallelujah!
He's stepping from to shore to shore.
He started sowing the seeds of Righteousness and Truth;
That's serving the Red, the White and the Blue!'
(FATHER speaks as follows:)
PEACE EVERYONE! It is good to be here in the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose. By this Unity we will live soberly, Righteously and GODLY. Just thinking about that little composition, although it has been long since composed, it is far reaching and deep to be considered:
'Uncle Sam got converted!'
Many years ago, little did you think that Uncle Sam would have been paying the
Indians back money that would be, yea, that was due them into the millions! I
thought of that thought very stressfully yesterday, I think it was, when a guest
from the Indian reservation, or in other words, from Oklahoma came and was saying
he was on his way to New York and he desired to speak with Governor Dewey; and
I thought how marvelous it is that this can be accomplished now. Not just to
speak to them, the chief executives, but also to bring about a closer relationship
by the great Conversion of Uncle Sam!
Now doubt a good many of you realize, when Uncle Sam first
went back to pay all of his old back bills, we are convinced that this was accomplished by copying after the fashion I had shown him by those of My following going back paying all of their old back bills, and Uncle Sam saw it and knew it! Therefore, it was not very long after they had turned in untold thousands into the United States Treasury when they could not find the credit debtors to whom those debts were due. Aren't you glad? ('So glad, FATHER Dear!' came the response.)
We have records where thousands and thousands of dollars have been turned into the United States Treasury by this CONVERSION through going back as far as fifty or seventy-five years past and finding those whom they were indebted to, for they could not be a member of our church if they owed any debts! Aren't you glad? ('Yes, LORD! We're so glad!' assured the multitude.) So then, GOD is not only converting individuals, but GOD is converting nations, languages, tongues and people! Even the languages and dialects and accents (Aren't you glad?) are being converted by the insignificance of ME, as it may apparently be! Therefore, Uncle Sam got converted!
And if you retrace your thoughts back he has paid many millions to the Indians! I did not have time to talk with the gentleman that was here from Oklahoma yesterday, but he said he was coming back, as I was on My way out. Just as I got in My car and was on My way out, he came up to the car and spoke to ME and said he was on his way to Albany, New York and he desired to see the Governor.
And I thought of how marvelous it is to see that nations, languages, tongues and people are being converted unto and into Righteousness, for truly did some of the tribes' representatives of the different Indian groups and tribes in this country, they came to ME to seek assistance. I did not respond to them politically as a politician, but I responded to them religiously and intuitively and co-operatively. Shortly after then, Uncle Sam was paying the old back bills! Aren't you glad? ('So glad, Almighty GOD!' shouted the congregation.) It was nothing I did from a Personal point of view, but IT WAS BY MY SPIRIT I DID IT! I think Mr. Truman in his administration was one of the first Presidents that signed the endorsement of paying the Indians, I believe it was, thirty-one million or something of that sort at one time!
So we are obliged to believe and know that Uncle Sam got converted at one time and he is going back paying his old back bills and he is sowing the seeds of Righteousness and Truth, serving the Red, the White and the Blue! How marvelous it is to observe it! For this way, when you do that which is just and right legally, politically and from every other angle expressible, GOD HIMSELF Supernaturally is with you and will adjust matters satisfactorily!
It appears as if there was about thirty-one million at one time paid one of the Indian tribes in Oklahoma. After then there was some payment made to a tribe in Colorado. So, GOD actually deals in the affairs of men and WHO CAN HINDER HIM? Although it is written of CHRIST in the Sonship Degree and that is declared to have been the same to ME:
'He Cometh as a Thief in The Night.'
A thief will not let you know when he comes nor how he comes. He gets in and
the door is shut at times. (FATHER laughs merrily and continues speaking:) But
since it is an impersonal issue with ME and with Mine, dial in on the Fundamentals
for which we stand; GOD in the midst of you can bless everyone; can and will
bring an end to all adverse and undesirable conditions; and as with ME and with
Mine, so can it be with all of the people universally!
Why live in lacks, wants and limitations? Why live in adverse and undesirable conditions? Why go around soliciting, begging and stealing? Why live in misery, disappointment and failure when GOD is a LIVING REALITY and a TRUE ADJUSTER of all matters and will adjust matters satisfactorily with the Spirit of EQUITY and JUSTICE for all of the people?
I would like to say at this time, we have visiting guests with us. Of course I AM not acquainted with all of our visiting guests, since it is a matter of course with us. We have visiting guests today, but at this time we have a visiting guest sitting near the head of the table. We do not wish to bore him or coerce him into speaking, but if you feel like speaking, we would be pleased to hear from you. As I have taught and as I teach:
'Be mindful how you entertain strangers, whereby some have entertained angels unawares.'

FATHER DIVINE, brothers and sisters, this is a pleasure that I did not expect. It's been very, very helpful to me to be here and see the admiration and worship in the eyes of you nice people all over, long before the good FATHER Himself rose and spoke to us. What HE said had a very profound effect on me because in my pocket is a return ticket of an airplane ride from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I left there Sunday morning. Maybe FATHER would like to see it. (As he passes it up to FATHER, FATHER inspects it and says, 'It's wonderful!' and passes it back, and the gentleman continues speaking:)
On this trip I was with another gentleman from Washington, D.C. We left there Friday. Incidentally I came here last Thursday and I saw the FATHER going out just as I came in. I did not wish to disturb YOU; I just hoped for another opportunity. I went on my way to return to Oklahoma, but this transaction had to do with Indians who had been paid by the United States Government; and this was certainly a coincidence. Thank YOU and thank GOD for this pleasure of meeting YOU and these people.
As Mr. Todd concluded speaking, other visiting guests in our midst responded also, then FATHER arose once again to speak as follows:)
PEACE EVERYONE! I would just like to say at this instant, that those of you as visiting guests that did not get a Supplement before at any time, you may take your Supplement along with you, also place card. We have a little place card here. It may sound fanatical, a little bit radical and an expression of ignoramuses. Those who have not had one of the place cards may take it along with them.
I would like to say, we are fanatical and radical enough and convinced of GOD'S Actual Presence enough to know that this place card shows you a little miniature portrait of MOTHER DIVINE here, My Spotless Virgin Bride and MYSELF. As a breastplate and shield across OUR Breasts, there are three books closely connected which say: 'In the Air, on Land, on the Sea'. But before you find the recognition of such a conviction, above OUR Heads you can see 'INTERNATIONAL PEACE'! If you just notice carefully the wording of the card. It is Wonderful!
Above OUR Heads the Liberty Bell as it hangs here in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, the Cradle of Democracy and now the Country Seat of the World! On either side of Us you see the United States Flag, the Flag of the Free for the Home of the Brave! Aren't you glad? ('So glad, GOD!' sanctioned the assembly.) And beneath Us you see the Capitol of the Unites States as a Foundation upon which we have built with the Protection of the Federal Government of the United States and with the true saying:
'In GOD we trust'
Aren't you glad? ('So glad! So glad!' came the response.)
I would like to say, this little place card, each of you, those who have not had one, may take them along with you and consider in yourself, not that the place card of itself is sufficient, but your conviction of the Spotlessness of My Virgin Bride, having faith in your Humble Servant according to the convictions of millions: if you go in the air, on land or on the sea I may plus that blessing to you who do believe if you go under the sea, I say, IF YOU GO UNDER THE SEA by submarine, GOD'S Presence will be with you so profound and you will be blessed from all hurt and from all harm! Aren't you glad? ('So glad, Almighty GOD!' again came the response.)
I further wish to say, with such a conviction, take ME along with you, since GOD is Ever Present, GOD is Omnipresent and GOD is Operative and Expressive! Believe it; you will receive it! You will have a Protection wheresoever you go! No one will be able to hurt nor harm you, (Aren't you glad?) for GOD'S Presence will be your Protection, for what said the Scripture concerning the mystery?
'He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.'
Now if you take this little Secret along with you not necessarily the card especially,
but dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High you will be under the Protection,
as being termed the Shadow, Biblically speaking, of the Almighty! You will not
be hurt nor harmed; and naught will be able to hurt you nor harm you wheresoever
you may go! GOD is your Protection, your Refuge and your Strength! And you can
take this Anointing with you now, henceforth and forever, and GOD will be your
Refuge and your Help in every need! What said the Scripture on another occasion?
'The Name of GOD is a Strong Tower and the Righteous run therein and is safe.'
Tower and where you can be safe from all hurt, from all harm and from all danger!
Let these Blessings go with you. These are universal blessings, unselfish blessings, for they are impersonally instituted and impersonally sent out to those who believe it. If you believe and make that connection mentally and spiritually, I will be with you as a Living Reality!
Just as you heard the reading of the letter in the Supplement there, carrying it along with you, you will commit to memory what you heard read and you will see and know, GOD is no longer a supposition, no longer a vision, no longer a dream! You don't have to try to vision GOD or go in dreams and visions but know GOD is real! Real! Real! So take these thoughts to consideration and I will be with you. Thank you.
On the airplane, even in the submarine, take that along with you; you will not be hurt nor harmed if the submarine or the airplane is destroyed, for GREATER is HE that is within you than all they that could be against you! I thank you.
I further wish to say, that the letter as written by Mr. Del Mar, nineteen thirty-one, has been twenty-three years ago this year. It is just as operative and it is just as expressive and GOD is continually blessing the people, increasing and multiplying them. So,
'Of His Kingdom and of His Peace and of His Increase, there shall be no end.'
I thank you. (FATHER holds up some of His Peace Stamps and says:) In your Supplement
you also have Peace Stamps printed in the Supplement, but there are some as they
go on My letters of correspondence daily in color. As I had called for the blessing
for the Indians, I have called for retroactive compensation for all of the under-privileged,
such as the Afro-Americans and other subjects. It may not be coming forth today
nor tomorrow, but I AM calling for it and we shall have it, for this is what
shall bring about a Righteous Government when it is instituted into government
and operative!
You have the copies. You have the printing in print. (FATHER passes out some more Supplements and place cards as well as some Retroactive Peace Stamps to the guests.) I believe all of the immediate followers here have received Supplements and also have received place cards, and that particular place card has been sent out, untold thousands! Untold thousands of them! And if you believe it, you receive it. It is wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Those who wish to take them along with them, of course, we have other separate cards, separate stamps. Practically all of these go on My letters of correspondence, sending out letters daily to all parts of the world. We have called for, in that particular Stamp, the Spirit of Equilibrium. If anyone desires to have them to put on their letters, you can get them from The New Day Publishing Company; but these I give out Myself from My Office and from My audiences and in My audiences, and whatsoever I do is gratis to you.
