Editors's Note: At the Review of the Third Anniversary of the Marriage, FATHER DIVINE gave this spirited sermon on brotherhood. The Marriage was solemnized, not for the purpose of propagating the species and not only to celebrate and glorify virtue and holiness but also for the purpose of ingraining the concept of brotherhood in the consciousness of the world. FATHER DIVINE praised Pope Pius XII, who was Pope from 1939 to 1958, for making the year 1950 a Year of Prayer for the Preservation of Peace and Brotherhood. FATHER DIVINE envisions a world where all will be united in Americanism, Brotherhood, Christianity, Democracy and Judaism.

A delightful surprise was given to one and all indeed on this occasion, for unknowingly to anyone but the Lord Himself, we went into the beautifully decorated Holy Communion Hall with its festive and spring like atmosphere, and were greeted with not only preparations in abundance for our daily Communion, but with all the gaiety and cheer and material blessings for a holiday occasion! And it turned out to be the continuance of the Review of the Third Anniversary Celebration of the Marriage of our Beloved Lamb and HIS Spotless, Virgin Bride!
And what rejoicing went up on this festive occasion! Greater yet was the rejoicing and praise, however, when our LORD arose several different times and blessed not only the large assembly present but the world at large with His Priceless Words of Spirit and Life!
This particular sermon given by FATHER is an ultimatum to the world, and those of every religious faith and denomination as well as the heads of all governments internationally, should take cognizance of this powerful and magnificent lesson! yea, a lesson of putting into practice the essence of Americanism and True Democracy and the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of GOD! If this lesson is imbibed universally, it will erase completely all cause for war, strife and bloodshed the world over, and establish in its place permanent Peace, and the Brotherhood of all men, as well as the Eternal Love for GOD ALMIGHTY, our Maker and Creator!
ALMIGHTY GOD, we truly thank THEE for Thy Glorious Condescension!
FATHER Speaks as follows:
PEACE, EVERYONE:
At this instance I would just like to say, this present individual Feast was not set apart especially or consciously by those who prepared it as a continuous Review of the Third Anniversary Celebration of My Marriage to My Spotless, Virgin Bride, but as it is written,
'Behold I come quickly and My Reward is with ME,'
and
'Be ye also ready; you know not the hour the Son of man cometh.'
I came today, unconscious of any of you, even to those with whom I travel My staff as it is written,
'Even the angels in Heaven know not the day nor the time, neither knoweth any man the time and the hour the Son of man cometh!'
The angels did not know! Even MOTHER did not know! commonly considered by you and by others as the First Angel of the Kingdom! I came as though for a preparation of something else but be it known unto you, it was for the continuous Celebration of My Third Wedding Anniversary!( Loud applause and cheering instantaneously went up. When the noise finally subsided, our Beloved SAVIOR continued as follows:)
It is for the purpose, as has been said, to propagate Something but not mortality, neither materialism, neither to propagate the mortal versions of men, but to propagate these Qualities as have been so explicitly depicted and described and made so plain to bring about Brotherhood and Peace! Aren't you glad! ('Oh, so glad, LORD!' came the joyous exclamation.)
Consider My Presence here today and tonight, without your premeditation or thought or consideration, was for the continuance of the Third Anniversary Celebration of My Marriage to the Universe at Large! for I have declared that this nation, yea, this whole civilization, shall have a New Birth of Freedom under GOD! I AM giving it a New Birth now! I AM propagating Virtue, Holiness, Honesty, Competence and Truth, and I fill the atmosphere in which we live with the Virginity of Mary and the Holiness of Jesus so vividly and so thickly, until you are obliged to inhale it! (Loud applause thundered throughout the entire building!)
Take these thoughts to consideration. Then I wish to say, as the Message has gone out to all of the Catholic people of the world by Pope Pius XII, to make 1950 or 1949 and 50, whichever, years, or a Year of Prayer, whichever it is, for the Preservation of Peace and Brotherhood with all nations, to bring an end to all savagery, brutality and all inhumanity; to establish Democracy, Brotherhood and Christianity Universally. Then I say, I heartily applaud and commend the Pope of the Catholic Church to make that appeal to all of its adherents, to bring about a closer relationship between man and man, so that we might be able to stand against Communism and all of the barbarics of humanity that are trying to destroy Democracy, Brotherhood and Christianity! (Applause and cheering filled the air; then FATHER continued by asking:)
But how shall we do it? I would like to say to our fellow citizens of Christianity, Democracy, Brotherhood, Americanism and Judaism we can only do it by the Golden Rule with Arbitration, by bringing an end to all division among yourselves at home and abroad!
It is a common phrase quite often used here in America,
'Charity begins at home and spreads abroad.'
I would like to commend those of our neighbors some of those of our neighbors on Howard Street near one of our churches how the recognition and the consideration of those of the Toths, the mother and the children, recognize and appreciate My Presence. And her little twins today, ready to be confirmed, they came in. She sent them in to ME to be blessed! (Loud applause ensued.) I would like to say, that is in keeping with the wish and the prayers of the Pope of the Catholic Church, even if they are not conscious of it. I know he desires his subjects and his members and adherents to the Catholic Faith to love their neighbors and do good to one another and come together and bring an abolition to all division and prejudice among the people!
'Charity begins at home and spreads abroad'
Just almost next door! why, you can see the little children coming out in fellowship with those who are not of the Catholic Faith, because there is Something in their hearts! Even the mother, if none other, teaching them to love one another! That is the way to bring about lasting Peace! ('So true, GOD ALMIGHTY!' sanctioned the entire congregation volitionally.)
I appeal to all of the religions of the world,
'Train your children in the way that they should go. When they are old they will not depart from it.' Proverbs 22:6
For they will learn to love in their infancy, and fellowship and participate in all things pertaining to Righteousness, and stand for Fellowship in Brotherhood, Democracy, Christianity, Judaism and Americanism as synonymous; and when this is done we shall have given the world something that Communism cannot give them!
No need to talk about one movement or organization and try to stop them if they are presenting something to the people that is not in any ways constructive. If you do not want Communism, then give them more Democracy, Brotherhood and Christianity and give them a plenty of it!( Loud applause and cheering went up.) Aren't you glad! ('Oh, so glad, GOD ALMIGHTY!' came the instant reply.) And when this is done, all of the Communists and Fascists and all of those who are in opposition to Democracy, Brotherhood and Christianity and Americanism and True Judaism, they will see and know they cannot stand against such a Power United as Allies of Democracy and Brotherhood!
I have nothing to lose! Sure I love the Catholic people! Sure I AM trying to save Judaism! Sure I AM going to save it if they will let ME! When we, as being termed the minority groups, shall have United Consolidatedly and shall have been brought into the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose and melted into a Melting Pot of True Democracy, we will no longer be the minorities! You see the mystery?
For We, the People, shall Unite in all of the world, and shall live Democracy, Brotherhood and Christianity and Americanism with Judaism, and shall bring an abolition to all division!
Then our Constitution shall be made a living reality, and our Three Freedoms shall be actually established! Not only so, but our documents of our government as declared and described, E pluribus unum! one composed of many! Not only so, but we, the people, will be free from divisibility and there will be one nation universally as the document of our government calls for:
'One Nation, Under GOD, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all!'
