MOTHER DIVINE
This profound Sermon is a challenge to the youth of the world to live and express democracy in words, deeds and actions, thus becoming to be one with your fellowman regardless to race, creed or color. This dispensation warrants it, for the old day has passed away and there is no more sea of misunderstanding or of doubts and fears, for triumphantly the great Captain of this mighty Army -- Democracy,is leading it on to victory.
FATHER DIVINE speaks following the song, 'We Shall Have the Same Rights!'
PEACE, EVERYONE! That little composition is well worth considering. To us it is a declaration; to the future generation it may be a prediction, but we realize we do have the SAME RIGHTS, not only equal, but the same, and we are bringing an abolition to the discriminatory practices of hiring help, of business, of labor and of trade and of every walk of life! We are bringing about that universal brotherhood in the actuated words of expression because GOD is the only one who can do it! Aren't you glad!
We realize, by the unity of the spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose you can overcome every opposition, every trial and every tribulation and win the victory over adverse and undesirable conditions! Just as it is right here, some day it shall be all over this wide extended plane! I AM not asking anyone to do it! Aren't you glad! I say, Aren't you glad?
Once upon a time, to see the legalisticness -- in other words, to see the legality of the spirit and minds of men and the righteousness in the midst of the so-called citizens of this democracy, I did call on them to pass the Anti-lynching Bill! I did call on them to pass the Fair Employment Practice Act, but since they seemed not to want to do it, I will do it Myself. Aren't you glad! The little field lark taught you something, and I AM taking the lesson of the little field lark:
'If you want anything done, do it yourself!'
Aren't you glad!
Since they do not wish to pass the Federal Anti-lynching Law, I will do it Myself! This looks something like it here, does it not? Aren't you glad! I have representatives right here from all parts of the United States of America, of different complexions, so-called racial abstractions of different origins, but when I put MY Spirit in them and change them from that Adamic state of consciousness to the CHRIST Consciousness they learn to love one another!
You have called for the universal brotherhood of man and you have called for many desirable expressions to be exemplified among you, but failed to come into possession and failed to even slightly exemplify them, but I AM here to say, since man does not want Righteousness established, and wickedness cannot establish Righteousness, it takes Righteousness to establish Righteousness therefore, I shall establish it Myself! I shall have it from shore to shore and from land to land just as I have it at My right and at My left hand!
Live in this recognition and build upon this foundation and you will rise above adverse and undesirable conditions and you will revel in the glorious liberty of the Sons of GOD, and not of the sons of mortality!
You find that there are many laws being passed now in the different states of the Union where you find those discriminatory practices outlawed, where you find different issues have been made to bring mankind in closer relationship! It is the work of the Spirit of GOD'S Actual Presence among them! 'Why do YOU say it is the Spirit of GOD'S Actual Presence?' Because it is written:
'It is not by power nor by might, but by MY SPIRIT, says the LORD.'
Therefore, MY spirit will do it! Aren't you glad!
There may be some who rebel against it, but when you fight against it, you are not just fighting against the commonwealth of the State of Pennsylvania; when you rise in opposition to this, even in thoughts, you rise in opposition to the omnipotent and omniscient! You rise in opposition to the commonwealth of the universe!
Therefore, I say, rejoice and be glad, for your salvation draweth near! The time is not far distant when all peoples of the earth shall come into this great melting pot of democracy and shall be dissolved into brotherhood, Christianity, Americanism and democracy as synonymous! And none shall lack in GOD'S abundance, for GOD is the creator, the author and the finisher! GOD will create and re-create in the abundance of the fullness until all shall be bountifully supplied!
What a privilege to live in such a recognition, realizing GOD Himself with or without a Body, yea, with and within HIS Body and without and with HIS Body is right here with you! Any way you choose to take it! I say, any way you choose to take it, GOD is here! The mission of CHRIST to the children of men was:
'His Name shall be called Immanuel, being interpreted, GOD is with us.'
Can you not see the Mystery? And that is the Doctrine of the Christian world, to preach good news and glad tidings! These words are quite encouraging to know that we will always have a-full and a-plenty like this, aren't they? Not only from an economic point of view, but from a mental, spiritual, social and from every other point! We realize GOD in abundance is here to supply and to satisfy!
Then I say, live in this recognition! I have long since declared and no doubt every one of you under the sound of MY Voice have heard from MY Writings -- one of MY original mottoes for your consideration, and yet I AM constantly reiterating the same declaration and motto for your consideration:
'The Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the Source of all Supply.'
That is a simple motto, yea, a motto for consideration, but yet it is the declaration and the realization of millions because millions have been converted into the recognition of GOD'S Actual Presence and are conscious of GOD'S Presence! The Spirit of that Consciousness actually is the source and the supply and it satisfies every good desire! That is what I AM talking about! It supplies in abundance until you do not have room to receive it, because GOD is there wheresoever you are!
As a Practical Psychologist, I appeal to you, MY fellow citizens, hearers and friends; if you can convince yourself of GOD'S Actual Presence, convert yourself into the recognition of GOD as ever present, even if you are not conscious of GOD'S tangible and personified presence, the first step, convince yourself once and forever, GOD is actually present, if you have to recognize HIS Presence metaphysically, supernaturally and invisibly firstly, if you get it effectively, it will be made a living reality and GOD to you will become to be a living factor!
Now, 'How does HE do it?' I do not do it by soliciting, begging, borrowing or stealing! I do not do it by asking any man for a penny, because GOD is the author and the finisher! What said the scripture concerning this mystery?
Scripturally GOD declared,
'The earth is the LORD'S and the fullness thereof; the cattle on a thousand hills are MINE.'
After the Earth being MINE and the fullness thereof, as it is written, and they that dwell therein,
'The cattle on a thousand hills are MINE, says the LORD.'
'And if I was an hungered, I would not tell you, I would slay and eat.'
Have you ever seen anyone run such institutions as this one and thousands of others all over the land and country without telling anybody anything about 'I want something to eat?' Without taking up a collection without doing any soliciting, begging or stealing?
But oh, how glorious it is to realize, This truth has out-moded all of the mortal versions of men! They had their beginning and they have their end! But oh, how glorious it is to realize, whatsoever I will, it must be and whatsoever I command, it must be done!
Then I say, live in this recognition and realize, GOD Himself with and without HIS Body, is with you any way you choose to take it! When you are in Europe, Asia or Africa, and you cannot recognize the Presence of GOD Personally, realize GOD is Actually Present and such a conversion will solve your every problem!
'The Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the Source of all Supply and it can and it will, as it does, satisfy every good desire.'
Because of the consciousness of GOD'S Presence, these limitless Blessings are put forth into expression and we come into possession of them and can use them unselfishly as much as we please! Aren't you glad! Plenty of automobiles -- I mean in the time of the extreme emergency; people could not get gas. GOD is your source and your supply if you will trust GOD whole-heartedly and realize GOD is actually present wheresoever you are!
Someone said the other day that 'FATHER DIVINE put Bilbo out of his office and put Talmadge out of his office!' Someone said, 'HE didn't do it, the C.I.O. did it.' The party did not tell ME that, but I say this: The communists have striven to do many things that seem to be good, but without GOD, you cannot do very much. You will not last very long! But if you have GOD on your side and live the life and let GOD do it for you, that which is accomplished by the will of GOD and not by the will of man, it can and it will stand!
Then I say, live in this recognition and let us continue to unite here and now on the Home Front for truly this is the cradle of democracy right here in philadelphia and I am rocking the cradle! Aren't you glad! I see them coming up! I see the sons and daughters of democracy coming up. Growing up and will be men of great renown. (Aren't you glad!) because you are not the ones of whom you thought you were! Sons and daughters of democracy, for Americanism, Christianity, Judaism and democracy are synonymous! I have united americanism, democracy, judaism and the universal brotherhood of man as synonymous! All men shall be united together universally and shall bring an abolition to all division by the way of races, creeds and isms!
This is the way we shall have it! You all look like one big family here, do you not? If you do not feel like it, you are expressing it now, but you really look like it! I believe you feel like it too! This one lineage, indivisible, came by the way of one nation, indivisible; came through and by the way of democracy, brotherhood and christianity until we have developed one big family, indivisible! Aren't you glad!
We shall not be discouraged and shall not be disturbed until we shall have it all over this wide extended plane just as it is right here! The seed ideas that have been sown by the pilgrim fathers in by-gone days, they have germinated and they have grown up and they are being brought to fruition for the good of humanity universally!
