MOTHER DIVINE at Unity Mission Church' Bible Institute
FATHER speaks following the Inspirational Composition sung by the Rosebud Choir, while at The Holy Communion Banquet Service:
'Fret not yourselves because of the workers of Bilboism
For they shall, they shall be cut off;
The chains of human savagery that have bound True Democracy
Shall be broken by the Works of GOD;
For this Principle of Righteous Living
Exemplified by FATHER DIVINE,
Shall envelop and bring into subjection
All the world and all mankind!'
PEACE, EVERYONE: Here we are; there I sit and here you stand. By the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose among you I remain, emphasizing, advocating, demonstrating and reproducing the Universal Brotherhood of man and the Conscious Realization of the FATHERHOOD of GOD, Whom you say I AM!
Whilst listening to that last number, I thought of how marvelous it is! By inspiration and through inspiration by those compositions, such as that one, I AM making MY Declaration known to man! Not only making MY Declaration known but I AM predicting such predictions that rival the predictions of the prophets and the sages in the prophetic age; for truly, as I have said, that which I AM exemplifying and that which I AM stressing, living and demonstrating, it is not something to be accomplished by violence, neither by the ballot, necessarily; but you hear ME say quite often,
'By MY SPIRIT I will do it!'
Not only so, but as one of those verse declared, Righteous Living as exemplified
by FATHER DIVINE shall envelop and bring into subjection the world and all mankind!'
Therefore, it shall not be by the bullet and it may not be by the ballot but it will be by MY SPIRIT; in short, righteousness; for righteousness will do it!
You read in the Book of the prophecy, the Book, of Isaiah, if you please, GOD declared,
'Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon HIS Shoulder; and HIS Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!'
Then the government shall not be exalted nor acquired by violence but by righteousness!
I have often said when men would rise up in opposition to the Powers that Be and consider smashing powers physically by the spirit of violence, and the like -- but oh, how glorious it is to realize that I would arise and say from time to time,
'It is not by power nor by might but by MY SPIRIT, says the LORD!'
Then I will not do it by violence, for violence merely reacts upon the impulse
of the moment and it boomerangs! it returns to the sender; and Righteousness
is equivalent; it is equivalently the same.
righteousness as well as wickedness and violence, they have the same nature, in a way of speaking. They are as chickens; they come home to roost! For this cause we are happy once again to emphasize the fact to you, MY citizens, hearers and friends, that we are here to exemplify righteousness in government and government in righteousness! -- to put forth that which we know is good and brings the desirable results, so that others might be partakers of it and also enjoy it.
For this cause we do rejoice and we are glad to give to the world continually, the BEST we have and the best, in turn for that which we have done and are doing, continues to come again! Can you not see the mystery? It gets better and better, for one writer declared in the prophetic age,
'Righteousness exalteth the nation whilst sin is a reproach to any people!'
I have lifted up a standard for the people and I have lifted up a righteous people
in the land! And by the righteousness of those of whom I have made righteous
this nation was spared! For JESUS plainly declared,
'As it was in the days of Lot so shall it be at the coming of the Son of man!'
Turning to one of the ministers, FATHER says:) Now is not that right, Reverend?
('Amen!' replied the minister)
it takes something like this, of righteousness, to be instilled in the hearts and lives and even in the business and affairs of the children of men to redeem them and save them from total destruction!
Remember, I wrote Hitler concerning Czechoslovakia; I wrote President Roosevelt at the time and said, Why not propose something -- Co-operation! -- instead of going forth into warfare and bloodshed! Co-operation substituted for inhuman warfare and bloodshed!
There is a Peace Stamp out, and still remains, that I sent out as MY Message was sent to him by cablegram and to many of the heads of the nations, requesting such. If they would have taken cognizance of ME and of MY message, insignificant as I may apparently be, Hitler could have saved his head and his neck also!
Now this is not a supposition. He was flying high at that time, raging! -- thought himself to be unconquerable! -- could not be conquered! But Oh, how Glorious it is to realize, GOD Is bigger, greater and better than all of the forces of the 'other fellow's'! GOD was dealing in the affairs of men then, and trying to save them as I am trying to save these!
(At this point FATHER takes a sheet of the green Peace Stamps bearing the Message referred to previously and passes it down to the visitors saying:) If there be a question as to what I said, the record is here to bear witness of itself, on the green Stamp, to those of our visiting guests. They might take one and look at it and read it, if they have never read MY Message on the green Stamp.
That was the cablegram I sent to President Roosevelt and many of the heads of the different nations, but especially to Hitler, requesting the proposal as I proposed the purchase of coveted Czechoslovakia, substituting co-operation in the place of warfare and bloodshed!
Then I say,
'Righteousness will exalt the nation!'
You, My fellow citizens, hearers and friends under the sound of My voice, have
been exalted by righteousness as I have exemplified it! Not only exalted economically
but exalted mentally and spiritually! Exalted socially! Exalted intellectually!
Exalted morally and from every angle expressible, because I am propagating virtue!
By so doing my spirit and my mind having instilled it in myself and others, to
bring about what you observe here tonight and today -- I desire to see all men
find themselves! When they find the truth, of themselves they will find their
GOD! >
Through and by the way of the Bible, of every nation and of every language and of every tongue and of every people, if they will study the Bible diligently, conscientiously and sincerely, they will find the way out of trouble and out of every difficulty! They will find their soul that has been lost!
Then this Institution here was purchased by the Unity Mission Church, Home and Training School, Inc., of New York City and of Philadelphia, located at Westminster Avenue and Forty-first Street -- the place we left just before we came down here tonight. Was purchased and has been under renovation for more than a year. The Church and its Members have spent thousands and Thousands of dollars in the renovation of it, but we do not regret it because we Know we shall have a righteous government! And we are lifting up a standard of righteousness and brotherhood in it!
We shall not be discouraged and we shall not be disturbed! We shall have free meetings here -- free classes, whichever -- and give everybody the privilege or chance to serve GOD and to study the bible to learn of god according to the dictates of their own conscience!
You need not follow ME as a Person nor as an Organization unless you wish to. Be governed by your own highest intuition, but learn of your GOD and find your soul through the written scripture, and thence, find your very life substance there-through! For it is written,.
'Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they that testify of Me!'
The Government, War Department, let us have so many thousand Bibles for this
Institution and for the other Churches in connection. We have the JEWISH BIBLE,
we have the PROTESTANT KING JAMES' VERSION of the BIBLE and we have the CATHOLIC
BIBLE, and I believe we also have some of the other Bibles in with the many we
ordered. WE ordered One Hundred and Fifty Thousand of them!
Therefore, realize salvation is free, and you can come and study to your own heart's satisfaction, and you don't have to worry about lights, and the like; and the classes are free; absolutely gratis. And I hope you all will find some solace in so doing, for it looks like I have found some! It looks something like I have found it does it not? It looks like I have found that lost chord, and I want you to find it! I want everybody to find that lost chord! And you can find it through the word, by searching the scripture diligently, conscientiously and sincerely!
But the best of all is to imbibe the spirit and the meaning of the scripture as you read it, and get the interpretation of it; and whatsoever the spirit within brings out to your higher understanding, you may know it is the Christ within, directing and instructing your conscious mentality!
Then I say, let us live in this Recognition and consider, without a formal method of dedication and consecration, having our Services absolutely informal, you have the privilege to observe what GOD has done in the Dedication of this Edifice and in the Consecration of the hearts and lives of the adherents!
Then I say, let us live in this Recognition and be conscious of GOD'S actual Presence for it is the great significance. To be conscious of GOD'S Presence, I say, is the great essential! I mean, it is necessary! Can you not see the mystery? And when you are conscious of GOD'S Presence and live it and express it, as though you are conscious of it, you will see things work as they do with ME!
I thought of once at the Minister's Evangelical Union -- an interdenominational Ministers' Evangelical Union -- they were questioning themselves and their members and other ministers what could they do to get the people to attend the Church. And the question was so pronounced and so stressfully depicted, it aroused MY Spirit; and I rose up and said, 'What can I do to get them away from the Church -- to keep them from coming?'
Wheresoever I preside and even wheresoever I reside, the people gather so thickly and crowd all of the hallways and alleyways, as a rule, we break all fire laws and regulations, as far as that is concerned! (FATHER joins in the laughter following the last remark) I cannot keep them away from ME; hence, I cannot keep them away from the Church, because the Scripture is being fulfilled! As has been mentioned on several occasions, even once or twice today in some of MY Contacts or Conversations in some way, it is written
'The law shall not depart from Judah nor a lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh comes; and when Shiloh comes, the gathering of the people shall be unto HIM!'
A good many people have tried and striven hard to keep the gathering of the people
from coming to ME because they knew that would be the fulfillment of the scripture!
But the more they try to keep them away, the more they come anyhow!
Now take these thoughts to consideration and let us live in this recognition and unite more Consolidatedly, for the purpose of bringing about lasting peace; for it we have won and it we shall keep! I thank you! I thank you! I thank you!
