A room, Pine Brook Hotel, Pine Brook, New Jersey
Throngs and throngs of visitors from the Elks' International Convention had
been pouring into the Hotel daily all this past week, grateful for the wonderful
privilege of obtaining such delicious and bountiful meals for only fifteen
cents. And as the crowd increased by the moment, our ever Condescending SAVIOR
Personally served table after table of them in the spacious annex dining room
just off from HIS Holy Communion Table in the Private Dining Room. For all
of these blessings the majority of the Elks expressed verbal heartfelt appreciation.
Their international leader, Judge Fredrick R. Watkins, the Grand Organizer
of the Elks of the World, was FATHER'S Personal Guest on this occasion, along
with his friends, Mrs. C. M. Moore of Eldorado, Arkansas and Rev. J. R. Reader
of Cambria, South Carolina. Judge Watkins, upon shaking FATHER'S Hand at the
conclusion of the Banquet said, 'FATHER, I shall carry YOUR Message to my Grand
Lodge of all the Elks.'
In our LORD'S glorious Message at this time HE explained to the visitors and to humanity at large more concerning the accomplishments of HIS Glorious Work and Mission and the points brought forth by HIM shall stir this and all other nations from center to circumference and bring to the mind's eye of all righteous thinking people the truth of GOD'S Actual Presence and HIS Mission on earth today!
BELOVED GOD ALMIGHTY, WE THANK THEE!

PEACE, EVERYONE: At this particular instance I would just like to say, good health, good will and a good appetite! If the people of this nation would learn the golden rule and realize, the unity of the spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose would bring an abolition to all division among us, they would readily grasp the Truth that I AM. advocating, emphasizing and demonstrating. They would bring themselves into subjection to this great Truth and live it and express it universally!
As I said of a very recent date, Hitler, according to information, desires to drive religion out of all nations and, as they did in the days of old, persecute the church. But it is a privilege to present to you what the future world will be. We do not only mean to establish religion in the different vicinities as churches but we are bringing about that long-sought-for Kingdom for which you all have prayed, and we are bringing about that which you have often heard: They shall worship GOD under their own vine and fig tree.
Every home shall be a church! That is quite the extreme reverse to that of Hitler's version, is it not? Every home shall be a church and every room in your home shall be a place of worship, for they all shall worship GOD, from the least to the greatest, and all shall know the Truth wheresoever they are, in your home, in your business places and wheresoever man is found! This is the Contagion that shall contagionize the world, and all shall learn to live and love and express that long-sought-for brotherhood of man and the FATHERHOOD of GOD!
I have brought an abolition to all races, creeds and colors. Those who live in this Recognition under MY Jurisdiction, they know no race, creed nor color. If you happen to represent a race, a creed or a color it is all right, but as far as I AM concerned it makes no difference to ME. Therefore, I say, as I have it here, so will it be from shore to shore and from land to land, and when this is done, wheresoever you be and wheresoever man is found there will be the Abundance of the Fullness of all Good Things, for GOD will bring them into expression just as where I AM Personally!
It has long since been declared, where there is LOVE there is GOD, and where GOD is, there is Abundance. The very Presence of GOD with the Recognition of HIS Allness in Love and Mercy will automatically bring into expression beautiful things. The 'other fellow,' which is the extreme reverse expression to GOD, will bring the extreme reverse conditions to that which CHRIST brings (Can you not see the mystery?), where the 'other fellow' is in evidence.
I say the 'other fellow'--you know whom I AM talking about, where he is in evidence it is confusion, it is division, it is strife, but where GOD is, there is Unity, Tranquility, Success and Prosperity!
GOD is in consciousness here! GOD has free access here; therefore I say to our visiting friends, when you come in our surroundings and in our vicinities, do not mind calling on us. As I said to a man once, we stopped on the highway and as usual we carried our Staff, as may be deemed a mixed group--may look different--and because of the complexion of some of them the station man did not want them to go in the rest rooms. And I said to him, I said, 'Come in our vicinity! Come up in the state where our garages and gas stations and restaurants and hotels are,' I said, 'I will show you how to do, how to live, how to be successful, how to be prosperous, how to be healthy, how to be happy and how to have victory over every difficulty!' And so it happened to be a certain gas station and the company fired him because he discriminated and segregated, representing a public utility, in other words, a public service for all of the people.
So it is a wonderful thought to stand and to live in the Spirit of the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose; but human intellect and skillful ability, neither can physical ability bring it about. It takes nothing less than the SPIRIT of CHRIST that changes the hearts and the lives of the children of men to bring about this great mental and spiritual renovation within; to cause them to be New creatures and cause them to cease to segregate and discriminate within.
For this cause the masses have been prejudiced against MY Work and MY Mission and ME; therefore the public press, even the weekly press, because of bigotry and jealousy equivalent to those of the daily press, have or had attempted to crush ME, to destroy you.
I have something for you; they rob you out of it! (Can you not see the mystery?) Rob the people out of millions and millions of actual dollars. Every time I can save you three cents on ~ a soft drink or two cents on a soft drink, where you would pay at least five cents for it elsewhere you can get it for three cents in any of our places. It is CHRIST did that--MY Teaching, MY Faith and MY Belief through this great Resurrection of CHRIST in the hearts and lives of the children of men--He caused them to do it.
And every time you get your hair trimmed for ten cents, where they make a charge for trimming hair--in our barber shops where they make a charge, it is only ten cents for a haircut, five cents for a shave where they make a charge, and they do not take a tip where they make a charge. But in some of our places like this one that has been set apart as a church, and the barber shops are used for the organization and accommodation of those who might especially need such accommodation, they do not make a charge; and where they do not make a charge they only take whatsoever you give them in places where they do not make a charge for anything. But wheresoever there is a price as the price for meals at fifteen cents, though they sell you a meal for fifteen cents, and you know what you would have to pay elsewhere, they would not take a tip. If you would give them a million dollars they would not take it, for it is in violation to the teaching of your Humble Servant!
'The love of money is the root of all evil!'
I AM purging MY Adherents of all of the love of money and every tendency to love it! Can you not see the mystery? Therefore, because of this, I AM a THREAT to all people, to all organizations and to all races, creeds and colors who do not live as I live; it is commonly known that I AM a THREAT to them, because we know the future government will be as this is here!
When this SPIRIT and this MIND that I have shall have been selected and elected as the chief executive we shall not have a person on the relief rolls! We shall not have a person going around taking the dole! That is what I AM talking about! Therefore, it is a THREAT to everything, and I hear them say, 'Why, if you don't stop FATHER DIVINE, why, naturally HE will be here in America as Mahatma Gandhi is in India!' That is what I heard them saying. They may be a couple of thousand of miles away from ME but I hear them saying all such things as that. But it is a matter of impossibility for them to retard MY Advances, for every knock is a boost and every criticism is a praise and every opposition will help you on to perfection and every cursing to ME is a blessing!
So I say, rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and as I have often said to our visiting friends, 1 thank you for your good wishes and appreciation and I thank you for your prayers, as you may term them to be when you are praying, for every good wish and harmonious thought together for the common good of all of us, it brings about a closer relationship.
You harmonize together closer by thinking harmoniously with one accord. So that is the mystery. But if I do not have a person, not even those of MY Followers to harmonize with ME, to believe ME or to sympathize with ME, I AM going through!
I recall saying many years ago, 'If it costs a million dollars a day and a million bodies a day we shall have a righteous government!' according to statistics we have received information in reference to the cost of the war to this government in the month of July; it cost us about one hundred and eighty-four million and four hundred thousand dollars per day!--that is, to overcome the enemy!
I had proposed the unification of the three Americas; if not agreeable through negotiation, why not purchase Central and South America? Why is it this part of North America should not purchase Central and South America? Some of the commentators said, 'FATHER DIVINE speaks of purchasing or buying Central and South America but where is HE going to get the money to buy it with, or buy them with?'
If they, the government of this nation, would have proposed as I proposed, and would have drafted a bill to purchase Central and South America immediately, and actually purchased all of the holdings of the allies in Central and South America, the investment would have been saved; it would not have been as the one hundred and eighty-four million and four hundred thousand dollars daily we are spending to prosecute this war!
For what we are doing now, we are spending money to prosecute the war and to overcome the enemy. But this money is used destructively and it is usually destroyed. According to my proposal it was as I proposed, through the cooperative system, to purchase real and personal property of value. Invest your money in your respective communities and safeguard and protect your money by investing it in something that is constructive, practical and profitable. But if you invest your money in something that is destructive and is threatened to be destroyed, you bring yourself and your earning into subjection to destruction. So it is a wonderful thought!
Hence, my proposal to purchase Central and South America was just as my proposal to my followers to buy or purchase millions and millions of dollars' worth of real property in the respective communities in which they expect to live and put their money into circulation in our own country, for the benefit of all humanity and for ourselves and our families! You see the mystery?
I have often said, as with an individual so with a nation, and as with a nation so with all nations combined. As I have demonstrated the economic system on a small scale by cooperation and demonstrated the cooperative system economically, whichever, on a small scale, I AM telling the nations of our civilization what they can do; for if an organization can do certain things and gain the Victory over depressions, over limitations, over adverse and undesirable conditions, a nation can do the same! Can you not see the mystery? For Scripturally speaking it has been declared,
'As in Adam all die, so shall in CHRIST all be made alive!'
For in one man you will find death and destruction for many; in one man you will
find Life and Salvation for many! The Sample and the Example has been demonstrated
very explicitly.
Millions of MY Followers are living absolutely independently because of MY cooperative system that I teach them. The government could do the same. Why should we have paupers in the land, slum conditions, unsanitary conditions? All because of the unsanitary condition of the minds of the children of men that have not been purged of debauchery and sin!
These thoughts are well worth considering. Because of this the press would not tell you the truth, because they know many years ago you all would have been coming to ME and asking ME to do something to get some of those unjust officials out of office, and you would support someone who could do it. That is what I AM talking about! They are afraid; they are afraid to tell the Truth, because they know if all of the people would support ME, why, we the American people, and you who may call yourselves under-privileged, would support ME in bringing about such as I have here today! You would support ME in bringing an abolition to segregation and discrimination and localization! You would support ME in doing it for all of the people of America even as I have accomplished it for those under MY Jurisdiction, as being termed MY Followers!
Hence, as you have heard of MY Followers purchasing property in all parts of the country and in places that people they thought looked like ME could not live before I came, so with this proposal I made to the governments of the European countries and even to our own nation, as I proposed the purchase of Czechoslovakia and sent a request to the governments of Europe to purchase Czechoslovakia instead of invading it, taking it. If they wanted Czechoslovakia, I said, purchase it! If I want some property, as charity begins at home and spreads abroad, I tell MY People, 'If you see a piece of property let ME know you want it,' and they come pretty near getting it! But they will not steal it, they will buy it! That is what I AM talking about!
And that is what I proposed, the purchase of Czechoslovakia, before the invasion of Czechoslovakia, and I proposed it to our chief executive and to the heads of the European countries to make that proposal to the German government, that they might evade, or in other words, avoid this onslaught of human bloodshed and murder! But they refused to take cognizance of our Message, although our chief executive did telegraph or cable the European heads right after I did. On the twentieth of September, I think it was, I cabled them, and, President Roosevelt cabled them on the twenty seventh, making some such proposal, but they refused to do it. Millions and millions of lives have been destroyed, all for the lack of accepting of the proposal and putting it into practice!
For this cause they oppose ME, because they know if the press would tell the truth concerning ME, even if the weekly press, as being termed, the 'so-and-so' press, would tell the truth concerning ME, at least all of the minority groups would rally behind ME and I would bring about the system of government as I have it jurisdictionally! I thank you!
As thunderous applause filled the air, our Loving SAVIOR, still standing, continued speaking according to the high vibrational atmosphere surrounding HIM.
Oh, it is a privilege--a privilege! But that is the thought. It somewhat stirred ME because the people are robbing the people of the blessings that MY Followers are enjoying, and I desire to see everybody enjoy every necessity of life! Something like the purchase of the Brigantine Hotel--it was for the purpose of giving those who did not or had not had a privilege before. We have plenty of places for ourselves individually. We have places upstate on the Hudson River--I mean, for bathing, bathing facilities, both at Krum Elbow and Milton-on-the-Hudson. At Krum Elbow the Followers own about--supposed to be about two miles and a half of river front, and the water is better to swim in; it is not so 'break-y' as it is in the ocean. And then we own the different places on Rondout Creek and places where they can swim, and they have swimming pools on their private places and public places.
Brigantine was a place that was considered that a good many of the people had never had such a privilege. It was only for the privileged few; therefore I said, 'I will break that line of demarcation and bring an end to localization in that community and give each and everyone a chance to enjoy some of the cool breezes from the ocean!' It is wonderful!
The Brigantine is overcrowded, just the same as it is here, but if anyone has a day off and wishes to take a day's outing, they are privileged to enjoy the facilities of the dining room and bathing beach and tennis and the like, by going down and staying all day if they wish to. Of course, right after we opened up down there, the place was filled to capacity almost immediately, until after Labor Day. But anyway, the general public, so long as they live and express themselves decently and hold up the Standard I have lifted--no drinking, no smoking, no obscenity nor profanity on the place, they are welcome to go there and enjoy the beach, enjoy the swimming, enjoy tennis and enjoy the dining room and such as we have there. But, of course, the only thing, the accommodation for sleeping has been filled--reservation has been filled--unless someone checks out-- but it is a wonderful blessing.
But as I feel and as I have done in that particular instance and in this one right here and in all of the places where I have free access for expression, I desire to see the same all over this wide extended plane, and I desire to see all of the peoples of our democracy united together as E Pluribus Unum, as I heartily endorsed the act of President Roosevelt--matters not how we may differ with him on some things--I heartily endorsed his action in instituting coalition in his cabinet.
When we, as Methodists or Baptists or Presbyterians, can work together systematically and harmoniously, we are fulfilling the Scripture, but when we divide ourselves because of discrimination we are bringing about an internal and spiritual division that brings about destruction to our advances. It is wonderful! For this cause I receive all people, all religions, matters not what they may be; so long as they act and express decently we heartily receive them and we do not condemn nor criticize your faith in GOD. The more you have, the better! I thank you.
