FATHER DIVINE
As usual, many thousands were on hand to greet the LORD when HE Personally arrived at Rockland Palace rather late in the evening. Accompanying HIM were some thirty-five of the leading Quakers in this part of the country who had attended the afternoon Banquet served by FATHER in order to accommodate HIS many guests.
The executive secretary of the Quaker organization, Mr. Clarence E. Pickett, spoke at this time, highly praising the Work and Accomplishments of FATHER and lauded HIS efforts in breaking down prejudice and race discrimination, as that is one thing they do not recognize in their belief. Mr. Malcolm R. Lovell of the Title Guarantee and Trust Company, whose ancestors were prominent Quakers and who has written a book concerning same, spoke next of his trip to the Promised Land and how he marveled at the unity and cooperation expressed among the Followers up there, also of the cleanliness and orderliness of the places. He commended FATHER on HIS Wonderful Work in establishing peace and brotherly love among all people.
Many other visitors were present. Doctor Clarence V. Howell was present, with a large group of university students. Doctor Broadman was also with us and in his speech he mentioned how surprised one of the ladies in his party was when she saw the large amount of change handed him in return as he paid for their luncheon up at Artist colony in Milton where he had accompanied them for a visit. He said that she wondered why other people did not do the same thing, and his answer to her was, why didn't they?
Mr. Chester Thomas recited a very convincing piece of poetry on the evils or race discrimination. Mr. Kevie Frankel, attorney, Mr. Booz, Captain Bloomer and others too numerous to mention, heard this wonderful Message which FATHER gave at this instance and thousands in the packed auditorium cheered and shouted their approval of the firm stand which FATHER asserts against the use of any and all prejudicial terms and names used for the purpose of lowration, to cheat certain ones out of the privileges which the Constitution grants every man, regardless to race, creed or color, political or religious affiliation.
Just prior to FATHER'S Message however, Mr. Harvey Hopkins of the Series Management Corporation spoke, stating that he had recently been to Jackson Heights and had happened in on the new Peace Mission Extension up there and that he had received the greatest hospitality. However he stated that he had heard that the Followers up there were not able to expand because they could not even get the use of a store in Jackson Heights because of such prejudicial hatred and discrimination practiced there. But he stated, there was no prejudice in his heart nor in his organization and that he would like to offer for the consideration of the followers a large building and garage if they would consider it and that was situated right in Jackson Heights proper.
Shortly after this, FATHER Arose and Delivered this dynamic Lecture which has a great bearing on newspaper syndicates and their publications.

PEACE, EVERYONE: Good Health, Good Will and a Good Appetite, with Life, Liberty and the reality of Happiness--these and millions of other blessings for all humanity I establish!
At this instance I have arisen to say a quite often rehearsed phrase of MINE,
'Here you all are and there I AM; there I sit and here you stand!'
It is a privilege to realize, the Unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of
Purpose will cause the universal brotherhood of man and the conscious realization
of the FATHERHOOD of GOD to be established among the nations of the earth just
as I have it MYSELF under MY Personal Jurisdiction.
For this cause I stand before you and all of the inhabitants of the earth tonight, to represent this universal brotherhood of man and the conscious realization of the FATHERHOOD of GOD. But as the last speaker said, because of race prejudice and the bigoted minds of men they have striven to bar Righteousness, Truth and Justice but they cannot prohibit ME!
Oh, it is a privilege to stand in the presence of the living and realize once and forever if you stand with ME, you, as well as I, will have the one eternal victory. For what said Christendom concerning this mystery?
'CHRIST fought through forty-two different generations and HE never lost a battle!'
The same victory that has been achieved on Israel's side. It is being achieved
on this side wheresoever I AM today and it is a matter of impossibility for men
to hinder ME! But because of prejudice, they have striven to rob you out of your
right of inheritance; they have striven to rob you out of your Constitutional
right; they have striven to rob you out of your right to live and even so much
as to pursue happiness according to the Constitution and its Amendments!
Oh, how glorious it is to realize, at this time I Come, at this place I stand, to stress the significance of GOD among the children of men and how GOD can and will give you victory among them if you will but recognize GOD'S Actual Presence and will live Evangelically whole-heartedly by ignoring all of the mortal versions concerning yourself and others and by standing absolutely independent to every cursed mortal concept of men.
Attention was called last evening, at least, this morning, to an article in one of your daily papers, saying the "Harlem Messiah." I do not deny being the Messiah! To the extreme reverse, that is something I verify! Aren't you glad! But the Messiah is not confined nor bound to Harlem alone! For this cause I AM in Yonkers today! For this cause I AM in Newport, Rhode Island! For this cause I AM in Sutton Manor, New Rochelle, and MY Followers are coming into possession of their rightful inheritance! They have the best known properties in all of the restricted communities, for GOD is the SUPREME and HE is expressing HIS Supremacy among the children of men; therefore I say, not a one, neither can all creation combined, hinder HIM and they need not try! Aren't you glad!
Why would they say the "Harlem Messiah?" They say the "Harlem Messiah" as a jest, for the purpose of lowration. For this cause I make an appeal to every true Believer, Coworker and Friend of Mine to never read a prejudicial newspaper again so long as they use segregated terms concerning Me and Mine! I put a ban on them! Aren't you glad! MY Tongue is a Pen of a ready writer! I know the press' pen is mightier than the sword, but MY Tongue is the pen for you all!
After this slang was criticized, I have been informed by those who read the paper, that they used the "so-and-so Messiah," in other words, the "so-and-so (n---o) Evangelist!" I AM not a "so-and-so!"
Then I say to MY Followers, as long as they use segregated terms concerning ME, do not read the cursed, prejudicial and malicious, slanderous papers! You have been robbed and spoiled long enough. I Came to emancipate you and naught can hinder ME, for I have long since declared,
'It is not by power nor by might but by MY Spirit!'
MY Spirit will do it, for what said the old familiar Civil War song?
'Old John Brown's body lies moldering in the clay But his Spirit goes marching on!'
By putting a stop to John Brown's body it did not prohibit the emancipation of
the slaves, did it? And neither can anything hinder ME, for,
'It is not by power nor by might but by MY Spirit!'
When John Brown's body ceased to function it worked more scientifically, the
Spirit of him did, and he quickly accomplished his endeavors more effectively
when his body ceased to function. Now, did you hear ME? I say, when John Brown's
body ceased to function he accomplished his endeavors more effectively when his
body ceased to function, for it was not by power nor by might but by his Spirit,
and his Spirit did it and his Spirit is still marching on! Aren't you glad!
Then I say, when they use prejudicial terms concerning ME and concerning yourself, do not read the papers! When they use segregated terms concerning you and concerning ME and especially in the usage of that vulgar name that was created and devised by man for the purpose of lowration! I would like to say to My Friends who think you are doing a great thing to use prejudicial and malicious, vulgar names--if you stop and consider, if by some name you were called and it was robbing you out of millions of dollars, you would consider that name a curse to you; especially if you considered it was vulgar, you would not have it! Now tell them I said it! Aren't you glad!
The ignorant, "intelligent" leaders of this people have caused you to err and those who are led by you are destroyed. You are robbed and you are spoiled of your livelihood! You are robbed and you are cheated out of your rightful inheritance and out of your Constitutional right under the Constitution and its Amendments!
It is immaterial to ME whether anyone stands with ME or not: I will stand alone; for it is declared of ME concerning the mystery:
'HE came treading the winepress all alone and of the people there were none to help!'
Then you declared, I AM the One Who came from Bozrah with dyed garments on! Aren't
you glad!
Then I say,
'Fret not yourselves because of the workers of iniquity...'
neither be thou fearful, for I shall say what I will and do what I please!
When the press says a "so-and-so" concerning you and I--in other words, concerning ME, it is using a vulgar name! You have never known of an nationality nor a race of people to be a "so-and-so!" It is a vulgar name! It is used for the purpose of lowration, to lowrate those who are commonly known as the Afro-Americans and the Africans, because they desire to keep them down!
But they cannot and they shall not do it any longer! I Came to exalt the valleys and bring the mountains and hills low if they are not willing to live Evangelically and do what I bid them do! Aren't you glad!
I know that the pen is a sword and mightier than the sword. The pen--the press--has slain many men and they tried to slay ME with this sword, with the pen of the press; but they could not do it, they cannot do it and they shall not do it! They slay themselves rising in opposition to ME, for
'That which a man soweth he must also reap!'
Now jot these thoughts down in your vocabularies! If you, as American citizens,
will still be foolish enough to allow men to call you vulgar names and you endorse
it and enjoy it, why, you should be kept down under the feet of them! Just as
the last gentleman said that spoke; because of prejudice a Believer of Mine could
not even get a place to have a restaurant nor a hall for worship in the community;
all because of that lowrated name by which you have been called and by which
I have been called! But I Came to bring an end to it!
Hence any person or persons or paper or press that are using a segregated term concerning you or MYSELF, that person is a thief and a robber! If he or she does not know it, they are! Now tell them I said it! They are robbing you out of your Constitutional right! They are robbing you out of your liberty! They are robbing you out of your privilege to register and to vote and to travel through this country as an American citizen! Now, tell them I said it. We will not tolerate it any longer! I shall strike that from our English language or else it will be a curse to those who use it! Now, tell them I said, I, in the name of GOD, declare it! I know it is a hard saying but yet it is true!
There is a gentleman right up here in Yonkers who is a retired civil service worker: he declares if it was not for his color, as one having an honorable discharge, he would be earning or receiving on pension, Eleven Hundred and Fifty dollars yearly; but because of his color he is not receiving a penny! What kind of America is this? What kind of a democracy is this? What kind of righteous government is this? I will not tolerate it! Aren't you glad!
It may be a lady in this building who has a profession. With her profession from the South she has only been paid Sixty Dollars a Month and teaching the other one cooperating with her. The other lady earns Two Hundred and Sixty Dollars a Month! Is that right? We will not tolerate it! I call strike on any person or people who will tolerate and endorse such outrages for the Mouth of GOD has declared it! For what said Isaiah concerning the mystery?
'Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and the government shall be upon HIS Shoulder!'
Aren't you glad! Your soul says yes! Your spirit says yes! Your life and your
liberty are with ME! If you are not, your life and your liberty are with ME.
And if you are not with ME personally, you personally shall be failures for I
have the Spirit--I mean the Spirit of every just and righteous-thinking person;
and even if you are not just and righteous-thinking I have the Spirit of Righteousness
and the Spirit of Life and Liberty and Happiness! You all can see I have given
MY followers happiness! I have given them happiness because I have it and another
who will not live Evangelically shall not have it!
Then I say,
'MY Tongue is a pen of a ready Writer!'
Why should this publication want to say, a "so-and-so?" It wants to
say it because of the prejudice that is in the writers and the representatives
and others! They desire to rob you out of your rightful inheritance which is
the honor that is due you and the privilege and the right for existence according
to the scripture and according to the Constitution! Hereafter MY Followers will
take a stand more persistently and more determinedly, never to read prejudiced
newspapers that use prejudiced terms and segregated terms concerning the children
of men, without a cause!
How dare they say the "so-and-so Evangelist?" Evangelism is not bound nor confined to individuals, it is not bound nor confined to races, creeds nor colors, neither is Americanism! For this cause I stress the applicacy of Americanism and MY Followers are producing and bringing to fruition the real Spirit of this Democracy by living according to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence! That is why they are American citizens! Any person or persons who do not live according to the Declaration of Independence and the spirit and the meaning of it, in MY Opinion they are not American citizens!
But oh, how glorious it will be when this Truth shall have enveloped the world universally and all of the kindreds of earth shall recognize GOD'S Actual Presence and shall have victory over sickness, sorrow, pain and death and all of your trials and tribulations will be over!
Take these thoughts to consideration and remember:
'The Spirit of the Consciousness of the Presence of GOD is the source of all supply and it can, and it will, and it actually does, satisfy every GOOD desire!'
Now I say, MY Followers have Happiness! They are Happy, are you not? They are
Peaceful, are you not? They are Joyful, are you not? You love GOD, do you not?
And you know who GOD is, do you not? Now do not say it unless you mean it! Do
not try to fool ME!
What a privilege to live in the Actual Presence of GOD, for this was the Mission of CHRIST to you all!
'And HIS Name shall be called IMMANUEL, being interpreted, GOD is with us!'
That is what all of the Christian religions should have been preaching and teaching
and convincing the people, that GOD was with them in reality! I have convinced
MY Followers that GOD IS WITH THEM! They KNOW GOD is with them, do you not? They
are not thinking GOD is with them but the KNOW GOD is with them for the interpretation
of the Name IMMANUEL is fulfilled in them and in their presence; therefore they
are carrying the Message to all humanity, GOD IS WITH THEM IN REALITY, therefore
their prayers are heard and answered!
You have never been in such an atmosphere have you? You have never been in such an environment, have you? I think not! You have been in the Presence of GOD all the time but you have not been in the Spirit of the Consciousness of GOD'S Presence! That is the only difference between MY home and yours!
There are those of you who are conscious of being in the "other fellow's" presence, but MY Followers are conscious of GOD'S Presence! They live it and they express it scientifically and accurately, therefore the Spirit of the Consciousness of it is the Source of ALL supply! It CAN and it WILL and it actually DOES satisfy every GOOD desire! That is what it is all about!
Then on the other hand, I quote a composition as a motto for your consideration:
'The Abundance of the Fullness of the Consciousness of GOOD, no space is vacant of the Fullness thereof!'
MY Followers are conscious of the Abundance of the Fullness, therefore they do
not find a space vacant of the Fullness of it!
In this auditorium you do not find very much space vacant, do you? (The auditorium was packed to overflow.) It is because I carry in MY Consciousness the abundance of the Fullness of the Consciousness of GOOD; therefore as the earth has a gravitation, even so have I magnetism! I attract and draw to ME the Abundance of the Fullness of GOOD that you also might enjoy and draw the same and become to be partakers of the LIMITLESS BLESSINGS such as we are enjoying!
I need not say more, I believe I have said enough to convey the Message most essential for the Redemption of this people!
You have been robbed by the vulgar name by which you have been called. Every time you are branded with a vulgar name you are robbed! When you are known to be some vulgar person by a vulgar name you are robbed out of your Constitutional right!
Now all intelligent people and self-respecting people hereafter will cooperate with ME, will harmonize and will agree with ME, because they can see it most distinctly. When you are called by some lowrated name and branded by the same, it prohibits you in a great measure from even getting a position, and if you get a position you can only get about fifty percent of what your fellow brother would get! That name by which you are called has robbed you out of that much of which you would receive!
Now, take these thoughts to consideration and you all who are just and honest and mean to do good for the children of men, will be with ME and will agree with ME in all things. I thank you. I thank you. I thank you.
PEACE, EVERYONE: I would just like to say to our visiting friends, those who have come and those who are going: with ME this is a matter of course. As I mentioned to some of MY friends, we still have our regular midnight banquet to serve at One Hundred and Twenty-sixth Street near Seventh Avenue, a regular matter of course with us, and of course this is not an exception. I would like to say, it is fulfilled in reality--I do Abide in the House of the LORD forever!
When we leave here we are going on to One Hundred and Twenty-sixth Street to serve our regular midnight Banquet. There are thousands awaiting ME there. Hence I say, if anyone who has a little spare time of our visiting friends, if they can get in--the place is very small in proportion to this one but it is a very large dining-room as a private dining-room. If you desire to go and see the Service there you are welcome to do so. I want you to learn and see and know more of MY Work and Mission. Remember, we are going on, and just before you make your complete departure, I want to see, how many are there here of MY followers who do not smoke cigarettes?
Aren't you glad! I want to see how many are you here who do not drink intoxicating liquors? I want to see how many are you here who do not indulge in the opposite sex? (In answer to all of these questions, immediately all hands were quickly raised.)
Then we shall have a Righteousness Government, for what did GOD say to Moses to tell the children of Israel at that time? To sanctify themselves from their husbands and from their wives, for they had a battle to fight! To fight against prejudice and maliciousness and graft and greed is one of the great battles today, if you please. We have to fight against those detestable and prejudicial tendencies to overcome all of those things without and within us.
Then I say, we are willing to make sacrifices of all of our selfish indulgences for the purpose of using our energy and our mentality to battle against oppositions and for the establishment of the Kingdom, that GOD ALONE might have all dominion and reign supremely. This is the way the kingdom was to come and this is the way it came! I thank you.
