The American Flag
What could be more fitting than that the historical places of centuries past should be the first to return as the inheritance of the heirs and joint-heirs of CHRIST? Of course the Scripture declares, "The earth is the LORD'S and the fullness thereof," and we know that it all must and will come in fulfillment of the prophecy that "the meek shall inherit the earth and the righteous shall dwell therein;" so it is only a matter of course that GOD'S Children are coming into possession of the most magnificent estates the earth affords.
One of these beautiful historic spots is the Old Indian Trail, Everhoj, now more commonly known as The Artists' Colony, at Milton, N.Y. As one of the locations inhabited by the original Americans or Indians, it is significant that this and all other places under the jurisdiction of the great SPIRIT, which was worshiped even in those days, should be designated as home of true Americanism as advocated and stressed by that same SPIRIT, now known as FATHER DIVINE!
After Captain Bloomer, who was with a party of friends was FATHER'S guest at the Table, spoke concerning the flag raising at Indian Field, giving the history of this yearly event, FATHER rose to speak on the real significance of the Declaration of Independence and its bearing on our daily lives.

PEACE, EVERYONE! Good Health, Good Will and a Good Appetite for everyone; Joy and Peace and Happiness and every other good and desirable blessing to you I bring!
Whilst the last speaker was speaking, Captain Bloomer, I thought of the Old Indian Trail in Everhoj, Milton, the Artists' Colony, one of the places that has been set apart on the Hudson for MY abode and for yours.
There are many famous places called to MY attention in MY Work and in My daily activities, but of course I thought of Milton-on-the-Hudson, the Artists' Colony, Everhoj, the Old Indian Trail right down at our place to the new boat-house, wharf and landing.
So the Work goes on step by step as things unfold the mystery of GOD'S Presence in the spirit of true Americanism, going forth conquering and to conquer, unfolding itself more and more until the Perfect Day shall have come, and all shall recognize real Americanism as the Spirit of America brought forth its first inhabitants that were governed by the great SPIRIT to this Light of the understanding that was given them.
This place was called the Old Indian Trail where they traveled down to the Hudson River, and as usual in those days, they worshiped the great SPIRIT, even as they do now in a great measure; but it is a privilege to realize that SPIRIT never died. The spirit of true Americanism drew the pilgrims over here by inspiration, and they were governed by their highest intuition, seeking religious liberty. They sought it and they found it. If they themselves have not accomplished all of their desires, we are here to accomplish those things for them.
Americanism shall be known throughout the universe as real Evangelism. Why should it be known as Evangelism? For in all of the Works of the SPIRIT as it led the former pilgrims to this country seeking religious liberty, we find it led them spiritually, as this country at that time was not inhabited by those who did not believe in GOD, even though they were not considered as the advanced civilized people of today; yet there was a SPIRIT in the original Americanism that led them.
For this cause they sought things that pertain to life through and by the guidance of the great SPIRIT! Hence this Everhoj place on the Hudson, commonly known as the Old Indian Trail, and this Flag Raising Day yesterday, retraced MY thoughts back to the Old Indian Trail. You can see the SPIRIT, the same SPIRIT, is speaking, the same SPIRIT is in operation, the same SPIRIT is in evidence today.
Under Christendom the Founder of Christianity said:
'Lo, I AM with you always,'
and one of the writers as a representative of this great leading SPIRIT said:
'He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not.'
GOD was in the world, but being invisible to those of the inhabitants of the
earth, they could not observe GOD'S Presence for the lack of understanding, for
the material version of things clouded their vision. But the time has truly come
even the great SPIRIT, as discerned and understood to be the great SPIRIT by
the Indians, has been personified, recognized and realized, for that which was
invisible has been made visible, that which was intangible has been made tangible,
that which was unembodied has been embodied.
Hence the great SPIRIT, which was True Americanism, went across by inspiration and led the pilgrims over to this country seeking religious liberty for them, and when the Declaration of Independence was declared, it was not merely a declaration to be merely considered as something that was inspired by men; it was something for the foundation of the establishment of the kingdom of GOD!
Hence from this declaration and upon this foundation we stand, manifesting, stressing and advocating and bringing into actuality the reality of that great SPIRIT, if we speak after the manner of the original Americans. The great SPIRIT, as it was termed by them, has been reincarnated, has been visibilated, has been personified as well as tangibilated, and has been recognized universally; therefore we shall have a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT sponsored by the great SPIRIT of True Americanism.
We are just, what we may say, carrying ourselves through the process of purifying the bodies and the minds of the children of men, that they might produce the spirit of this democracy as given to us documentally, that each and every American citizen might be real American citizens characteristically, nature-ly and in reality from every angle expressible, by imbibing the true Spirit of Americanism.
As I say, when men were inspired to come seeking religious liberty, it was a prediction in that event, the very act of coming to this country seeking religious liberty, and also declaring her independence as a nation, it was making preparation for this KINGDOM that we are representing under MY Personal Jurisdiction. Aren't you glad! To recognize the spirit and the meaning of all things--how the spirit of true Americanism, of which was in the beginning Evangelism, coming to this country and yet here in this country to organize itself and to be established in a great democracy. It was it of which we are stressing. It was through and by this, the Spirit of Americanism, we are privileged to serve GOD to the dictates of our own conscience.
By being governed by our highest intuition we have brought the CHRIST within millions to fruition. That is the way He was to come and that is the way He came! When CHRIST is brought to fruition in the hearts and lives of men, the very characteristics of such individuals are changed. The dispositions are changed because they become to be new creatures!
By the CHRIST being brought to fruition, He throws off the Adamic state of consciousness and the CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS is developed and manifested, therefore we have in the hearts and lives of the children of men that Something that can be brought to fruition in each and every one of them; but it could not be, saving by being under a democracy that can and will give every subject of its domain the privilege to serve GOD to the dictates of his own conscience; for if you did not have the privilege to serve GOD to the dictates of your own conscience, you could not develop your religious conviction--you could not bring the CHRIST within you to fruition. Can you not see the mystery?
For this cause I stress the Constitution and its Amendments continually as the Hope of the redemption of many, for under this democracy of ours, you have the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of Peaceful Assemblage and you have the Freedom of the Press and also the privilege to serve GOD to the dictates of your own conscience; hence Paul said on one occasion:
'Let every man be persuaded by his own opinion,'
or words to that effect.
If a person is conscientious to his or her religious conviction, as the real Indians were to theirs, and have a free access in and under a democracy to express and to develop, such persons have a chance to bring the CHRIST within them to fruition, by which the CHRIST within will give you the victory over every difficulty, over all trials and over all tribulations by having the privilege to be governed by your highest intuition, in MY Language and according to MY Version.
Paul said:
'Let every man be persuaded by his own opinion,'
or words to that effect; but I say: "Be governed by your highest intuition," which
means practically the same--move volitionally as I do; and when the CHRIST within
prompts you to move volitionally, it must be an inspiration from the INFINITE
ONE--that great SPIRIT, as it may be termed by the original Indians. Aren't you
glad!
Then when the last speaker spoke of the original Indians, Americans whichever, how GOD in them stood up for the foundation of this democracy, that this might be a free country, the Spirit of Americanism was moving out there and then in an endeavor, even though they may not have understood it as we do. They thought they could win the victory, no doubt, by violence as others in and at this time; but as I say--
'It is not by power not by might but by My SPIRIT,'
Therefore I AM not seeking the victory by violence but by righteousness and by
righteousness I shall stand.
If John Brown and even Abraham Lincoln could have caught the glimpse of this mystery of which I AM now stressing, and considered and adhered to the Message, the Words of Jesus when He said to Peter:
'Put up thy sword, for he that fighteth with the sword shall by the sword perish,'
If they could have thought vividly enough to relax the conscious mentality and
still themselves as individuals and allow the SPIRIT of GOD to fight their battles,
we would have had VICTORY, a victory and PEACE that could not be otherwise established.
That is the reason men cannot understand ME.
Why is it I have MY Way? Because, "It is not by power not by might but by My SPIRIT..." It is not by violence, but by righteousness I establish truth and I establish justice in opposition to all of MY opposers. Aren't you glad?
But when we think of that great SPIRIT, the great SPIRIT of Whom you say I AM, was in the world and the world was made by It and the world knew It not! Can you not see the mystery?
Then I say, one generation unfolds a degree of RIGHTEOUSNESS and another, another until PERFECTION shall have been attained; for what said the Scripture on another occasion concerning the mystery?
'The path of the just glows brighter and brighter until the Perfect Day.'
In this advanced civilization in which we are now living, the path of the just
is glowing brighter and brighter and more scientific and yet it is more understandable,
for the scientific inventions of our modern advanced civilization are teaching
us WISDOM in parables by the inventions, just what GOD is and what GOD is actually
doing for us. Aren't you glad!
There are so many things to praise GOD for! Now you can see, as has been declared:
'I AM the beginning and the end.
I AM the first and the last.
I AM the root and the offspring of David.'
I heard one say: "You are the bright and the morning star!" The same
Spirit is speaking today!
I shall not be discouraged, neither shall I be disturbed until all be contagionized with MY conscious conviction and the realization that I have established in millions shall go forth in the hearts and lives of all humanity. But this is accomplished not by wrath, neither by violence but by MY Spirit in RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE according to the plan and the purpose of CHRIST your SAVIOR!
Then I say, when the few men disembarked on this side of the ocean seeking religious liberty, it was but bespeaking this of which we are stressing. For this cause I stress the Constitution and its Amendments, for it is the SWORD of the Country, as I continued to tell you, as a PROTECTION for you and for every American citizen, that he or she might obtain this LIBERTY that your forefathers were seeking.
Truly might have the Constitution granted you LIFE and LIBERTY and the pursuit of HAPPINESS. You could pursue it, but you must have FAITH to get it--you must live according to the plan and the purpose to get it; for all of GOD'S promises are conditional. Aren't you glad!
Now, just as I have it, we all shall have it. I Came to grant everyone that privilege and yet I will not do it Personally but I will do it mentally and spiritually by causing each and every American citizen to take on the SPIRIT of this LIFE and bring the spirit and the meaning of the CHRIST LIFE to fruition, of which will cause them to be real American citizens and your citizenship will be true Evangelism.
By nature you are inclined to be missionaries. You may not say a word, but by nature automatically you are inclined to try to Evangelize someone else, others whichever, and to inspire others, because it is the SPIRIT of MY PRESENCE with you, though it may be lying dormant, but it inspires you; hence, when you think at times of going to the heathen lands and trying to explore the heathen lands, as it may be termed, it is a place in consciousness you should go where you have not yet been. When you come to this place in consciousness, then and only then will you see things as they are and see ME as I AM!
But oh, how glorious it is to have the hope and you get the substance of the things you hope for, you get the evidence of things unseen, therefore I say, you can if you will, taste and see the LORD is good.
Now in reference to MY little Outing yesterday; I felt much impressed to go because I feel as if though I would not be going to represent MYSELF as a big I, but to represent that of which I AM daily stressing as an endorsement to this independence, because I believe I have it effectively and millions of others believe it. They believe I have the KEY to the mystery. For this cause I desired to convey the thought of individual independence to MY hearers and to those who are representing the Declaration of Independence as the country declared it as a nation. I AM striving to get men to see and know definitely they must produce their individual independence before they can be real Americans.
If we merely have an independence politically or nationally as a nation documentally, unless we get the spirit and the meaning of such an independence, we will still be dependents and groping in lacks and wants and limitations. When I came up on the car before the door today, I think it was, and I looked down across Seventh Avenue and I saw a mighty mass of people, I said, "What is going on down there?" And they said, "There is where they go to get Home Relief." A mass of people right down here on One Hundred and Twenty-sixth Street, as if though it was a great parade, sowing the seeds of dependence and causing your children and your children's children to be dependents, causing them to think that they should be dependent on the Home Relief or on the City for something for nothing.
But let us, as American citizens, stress our citizenry to our little children, those of our own and those with whom we come in contact, the significance of expressing the spirit of independence and becoming to be the reincarnators of true independence by each and every little child endeavoring to be independent individually, instead of being dependent, depending on others. Can you not see the mystery?
Oh how glorious it will be when all men learn the TRUTH concerning the mystery, and each and every one imbibes the spirit of "up-get," for what said one of the prophets concerning the mystery?
'Up-get you out of this place'
(get out of the place)
'that is a place of destruction,'
a place of lacks and wants and limitations, and endeavor to imbibe the spirit
of independence by imbibing the spirit of SUPREMACY and recognizing the SUPREME
ONE and work according to His plan and His purpose and you will become to be
independent citizens and express it in reality, and no longer consider it merely
as a Day of Memorial to be considered.
I can talk it because up until tonight I have not as yet taken up a collection. I have not as yet ever done any soliciting nor had any soliciting done for ME as a PERSON. But being willing to suffer the consequences of the hardships and trials and tribulations, and still holding within MYSELF the consciousness and in MY consideration the spirit of independence by expressing it in deeds and in actions, MY SPIRIT has always provided for those with whom I have been connected, and especially those who were under MY Personal Jurisdiction.
Now after the fashion I have shown you for if you do, as individuals, you will express your independence and others will be contagionized with the spirit of independence, for it is contagious. When you become to be the producer of the spirit of independence, by imbibing the spirit of independence by concentrating on the SUPREME ONE with the spirit of sincerity, why, such a spirit of independence will produce that which is necessary to cause you to be independent and you will not have an occasion even so much as to ask for it. The Spirit of TRUTH will tell the truth! Do you not see the mystery?
Produce the Spirit of TRUTH within and endeavor to express it in all of your endeavors and the TRUTH will tell the truth for you. Now produce the spirit of independence even as the country declared it as a nation, and whatsoever it takes to make you independent, you will have it. When you are independent characteristically and dispositionally, you are an independent creature, for the very spirit of that of which you are stressing and shall have brought to fruition in your consciousness, will cause you to be just what you have manifested and have stressed through reincarnation by harmonizing with it.
Oh, how glorious it is to live a life of independence! The time has truly come it will not be as it has been. The people of America will hereafter learn by studying the significance of independence. They will no longer stress it as a document, neither as a day set apart to commemorate the words they said in saying that they were independent to the mother country, but they will stress it so vividly and express it continually until they will teach it by nature transmitted to their descendants. In the future they will not think on independence merely as a Day of Worship, as a Holiday, as a Legal Holiday, but they will think on independence as Sacred, as Inspired by GOD, for your independence comes through and by the spirit of supremacy from the SUPREME ONE, and when you recognize the Sacredness of it, your independence will be as Sacred to you as your Religion from any angle expressible.
You will learn to be conscientious. You will learn to be sincere. Even if you are not serious and sad, you will learn to be sincere in whatsoever you endeavor. You will express it and you will manifest it, you will act it in all of your activities until the very spirit and the nature and the meaning of independence will be a living reality in each and every one of you.
Draw out of all of these documents the spirit and the meaning of them and produce them within, no longer as though they are merely written with ink and pen, but as though they are a living reality made real, tangible and practical and you are the personification of that of which you are stressing. You can be a wicked man if you wish to. You can be a wicked woman if you wish to. Then why not desire to be that of which you are stressing?
Stress it vividly enough continually until you become to be the personification of it by reincarnation, by reincarnating it and bringing it to fruition, by a constant expression of it being inculcated in your conscious mentality, in other words and in your deeds and in your actions. I thank you. I thank you. I thank you!
