The Righteous Government Meeting at the above address was well attended, firstly due to the fact that the LORDwas Personally Present, and secondly, because the thousands of followers who attend adult school in this neighborhood and other vicinities in upper Manhattan, were having a vacation from school on account of the holiday period.
Dr. Henry Newman, of the Ethical Culture Society of Brooklyn, who broadcast several weeks ago on "FATHER DIVINE and the hunger for worship", was present with members of his family, for the purpose of learning the truth concerning the FOUNDER of the Peace Mission and its activities. Dr. Broadman introduced Dr. Newman, and gave a splendid brief outline concerning the Mission and Teaching of FATHER DIVINE. This was informative and enabled the Rev. Newman to better understand us; also afforded him a greater appreciation, so that if on any future occasion, the honorable gentleman would desire to broadcast again, he will be in a position to give forth true facts, which he acquired on his visit. Rev. Newman addressed the audience in a short talk, and expressed his gratitude for this opportunity to learn the Truth, which was previously distorted.
There were several other speakers present, including Lawyer Becker and party, Mr. Kranzler, attorney and an accompanying lawyer; Mr. Nelson of the Newark Extension and other representatives. All enjoyed the interesting program, but the joy of the evening was, when FATHER arose and delivered this timely and heavenly Message. FATHER, our LORD, we thank THEE. (FATHER speaks as follows:)
PEACE EVERYONE:
("Peace, FATHER Dear!" remarked the assembly enthusiastically.)
Here we all are again and there I sit and stand. Aren't you glad? Does it not afford you great pleasure to realize, as I AM so are you and as you are so AM I? The unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose, have become to be a living reality as we live it and express it accurately. The very Spirit of GOD'S Presence will become to be understood and known universally after a while, for that which you are the personal expresser of, it was once merely a mental and a spiritual conception; that which is conceived in the mentality is brought in outer expression in your physical body and you become to be the outward expresser of that which was invisible. For this cause, we are rejoicing and we are exceedingly glad.
We are rejoicing to observe the significance of harmonization. Through harmonizing, we come into the unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose in action; it becomes to be "tangibilated". This is accomplished through reincarnation. You become to be the reincarnators of that which you stress vividly in harmony. As you reincarnate such an expression, you also become to be the personification of that which you have come into harmony with, and that with which you have unified yourselves together.
We are now expressing something very desirable to all mankind. Men are seeking this Peace that surpasses all human understanding. They are seeking it here and they are seeking it abroad, and the time is not far away when mankind shall openly petition all of our government, not only in this country, but in all countries as may be termed governments of the different countries, for a Secretary of Peace. It must come to the surface, and it must come to the front; for what says the Scripture by the prediction of the prophet:
Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His Shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty GOD, The Everlasting FATHER," and now Comes, "The PRINCE of PEACE".
I declared many years ago, they shall have no Eternal Peace; they shall not have
any eternal or abiding Peace, until the last clause of the special quotation
shall have been fulfilled and reckoned among the peoples of the earth. When they
shall have reckoned "THE EVER LASTING FATHER," and this expression
of which I AM actually stressing shall have been fulfilled in mankind universally,
and they shall reckon GOD the FATHER as a living reality, and shall carry the
Name of "The FATHER" upper mostly in their foreheads, in their conscience,
then and only then, shall we come into our line, and line up for a Universal
Peace in reality. For when you shall have recognized "The EVERLASTING FATHER",
then cometh "The PRINCE of PEACE"
into consideration, and "The PRINCE of PEACE" must be reckoned by
all nations before they shall have abiding salvation; before they shall have
abiding Peace, which we are daily stressing, and putting continually into expression
as a sample and an example.
How marvelous then it will be, when all of the families of the earth shall recognize GOD'S actual Presence!
'GOD shall wipe all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more sorrow, neither shall there be any more crying, and there shall be no more death." Revelation 7:17
I need not say more. I believe I have said enough to stir up your pure minds.
I do not wish to leave the subject too far the Message you lastly heard read,
for I believe that is a Message that is well worth considering. I believe My
hearers will bear witness to My sayings, but as I sat and listened, I could see
as it was, even so it is:
"There is no place found in the inn for HIM of Whom you say I AM," but
in the meekness and lowliness of the spirit, in all simplicity and mercy and
compassion, there is where you will find your REDEEMER and your SAVIOR. One who
can save you from undesirable conditions, for from those conditions you could
not be free until I lifted you.
Just think of it, as was said by one of our honored speakers, you have declared where the schools, churches and all organizations, yea, even the power of our government itself could not change you, the powers that be, those powers that are set apart for the purpose of moral betterment and law enforcement, they could not prohibit you from committing sin and vice and crime of the most hideous kind. They could not lift you above the desire and the act of doing those things, even though they were placed in prison, there was nothing to prohibit you from doing those things and nothing at all to change your mind, you have declared, until I came. For this cause you are rejoicing and I AM glad.
I AM pleased to know there are millions and millions the universe over today, who are living free from sin, free from vice and free from crime of every kind, by the recognition of GOD'S Presence among them, and by the consideration of GOD being a Redeemer and a Savior of your bodies and souls, from vice and from sin. Because of this your minds are changed. All of your former beliefs and desires are consumed by the Spirit of GOD'S Presence according to your religious conviction; therefore, you have no longer an existence in that world of thinking wherein you have been, where you have lived and where you have moved and carried your being. You have been translated from that state of consciousness, and you are now NEW Creatures expressing more accurately daily, the identical characteristics and the life and the Love of your Savior.
How marvelous it is to know, just by concentration, harmonization and association, you are coming into closer relationship with the Perfect Picture, by concentrating on It. It is not necessary for one to touch you, or to do anything to you, but by harmonizing with that which you may desire to be like, the reaction of harmonization will bring into outer expression, the identical like- ness of that with which you harmonize. Because you have harmonized with the Message of Truth, such as I have conveyed, you have become to be partakers of GOD'S Nature as transmitted and the very Spirit of GOD'S actual Presence is made a living reality among you. By denying yourselves of your sense of feeling and other selfish indulgences in accord with same, the very Spirit of GOD'S Presence has been reckoned among you as a living factor among all mankind. Men can see by your experience that GOD'S Presence is a living factor and has become to be a living reality among a few, and if it is a reality among a few, or among you, so it is universally for they commonly know GOD is Omnipresent.
By this, men will not need to come to ME Personally, as I have aforesaid, but by making their mental and their spiritual contact, and by harmonizing with the Perfect Light that has been reflected, they too, as well as you, will catch it for you, as radium will reflect the light that is reflected and you will bear witness of it, when the light is apparently turned off. Then I say, live in this recognition. Stay in this conscious conviction of GOD'S actual Presence, you will find you will have the Victory over every difficulty; all of your trials and tribulations will be no more, for
'as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,'
and
'according to your faith, so be it unto thee." Matthew 9:29
This evening is known as a Righteous Government Meeting evening. We are speaking
daily of our Righteous Government Platform and Righteous Government combined
but we desire to put this into practice so vividly and so accurately until we
will not have to especially stress it in words, but the actions will speak louder
than words, and mankind will understand it; for they will see definitely there
is no other.
The time cometh and now is, when your very stand which you have taken will be so far- reaching, men will voluntarily introduce bills and make laws, rules and regulations to conform to your conscious religious conviction. I need not do it. Aren't you glad? All I must needs do, is to continue to do as I AM doing and others will be convinced definitely, if they do not make rules, laws and regulations to harmonize with your religious conviction, they will not have laws, rules and regulations, for they will have no one to endorse them. Aren't you glad?
While speaking today in reference to repealing certain laws, I will repeal such laws, rules and regulations that are not according to the Constitution and such as are not evangelical; for the very masses that are converted from such former rules and regulations and disposition, they will be in the majority, therefore, they will over-balance the others automatically. It is only a matter of time and the moving masses will move everything else automatically without their consideration. Aren't you glad?
Then I say, they had just as well to make laws, rules and regulations that are according to the Gospel and constitutional, for those laws, rules and regulations that are not according to the Gospel and not constitutional, will be over-balanced by those who are converted according to the Gospel, and become to be law-abiding citizens under the Constitution; they will change those laws that are not according to the Gospel; they will change those laws that are not according to the Constitution. Aren't you glad? If they do not change them by actually ruling them unconstitutional, the very outward expression of the masses, by being changed mentally and spiritually, will prove to those in authority conclusively that those laws are unconstitutional. Then I say, we shall have a Righteous Government.
We need not work after the manner of men unless we wish to, but the very words that I have spoken to you, they shall stand, for they are Spirit and they are Life. Remember,
'And the government shall be upon His shoulder.'
This was the promise made by the spirit of prophecy:
'The government shall be upon His shoulder.'
Can you not see that the very governing forces are upon the shoulder of the Fundamental
for which you stand? Your minds are changed, your bodies and your affairs are
all brought into subjection to HIM Who liveth forever, and you need not ask another,
for the very Spirit of GOD'S Presence will tell you, and others will see there
is a reality in that which has been spoken.
Let us live in this recognition. I need not request you to do so, but the very Spirit of My Presence within you will inspire you, and will encourage you and will lead you on to Victory; will cause you to be more persistent in your ambition now than ever, that you might attract others and cause them to observe the Truth, as you observe it, that they too, might be partakers of it, and come into the unity of the Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose, and have a universal Righteous Government as it is under the sound of My Voice in expression.
Why is it that I say "expression?" It is because in the appearance and outward expression of the masses under the sound of My Voice, you are all generally, collectively, whichever expressing the unity of Spirit, of Mind, of Aim and of Purpose, and you are expressing your willingness to follow ME whithersoever I would go.
Now remember, following ME does not mean merely following a form as a person, but the Principle for which I stand. I have stressed from time to time, it is a principle and not a man. A principle that has been lifted up as a standard must be considered not merely personal, neither as personality, nor as an individual, but the standard that has been lifted must be considered as the Fundamental, the Principle for all humanity, as a sample and as an example of Jesus.
Why is it I stress this point so vividly? It is because I believe such an expression as I have stressed is the sample. I believe it is the sample, and I find it brings results and answers every problem. It satisfies every desire. It adjusts matters satisfactorily, and gives victory over difficulties, gives success and prosperity where there was failure. Aren't you glad? For this cause we can relax ourselves as individuals from struggling, from worrying, and from bothering about the outcome, and go on our way rejoicing, and go on our way living and expressing exactly according to our highest intuition, as the Spirit within you, leads you.
How marvelous it is to live in the actual Presence of GOD! How marvelous it is to be in such an atmosphere as this in which you all live; for the very atmosphere itself dispels all doubts and fears, takes away our sighs, dispels them whichever, and it dries your tears. It gives you freedom; the freedom of speech, freedom of action; casteth out all criticisms and all accusations, gives you your real emancipation, that you might live in such a conscious state of expression of GOD, as a living factor until the adverse and undesirable conditions can no longer exist among us.
Then I say, praise GOD and lift up a standard continually. When all shall have failed and all oppositions shall have waned, the very Spirit of this work will still be going on, even as it now is going on.
I mentioned today, many years ago I recall going in a place at least going to a city on My Mission, where there was a minister who said:
'If this work was, or if it is of GOD, it shall stand; but if it is not of GOD, it must go down.'
This was thirty-odd years ago. No doubt the work has been growing by leaps and
bounds, over and above every opposition, for that which is of GOD must stand
as he said, but that which is of man must fail.
Without any thought or plan of My own, as a person, I relaxed MYSELF as far as trying to plan something or bring out something. I refuse to speak "manuscriptly" which is to say, by manuscript. I refuse to even so much as read, that I might speak, and speak the Truth indeed, and refuse to be drifted by the winds and doctrines of men.
Oh, it is a privilege to know the Truth. Even the revised version of the Bible those versions of the Bible as revised by different men they were their versions according to their under-standing; but when you try them out and test them and see whether they will stand, it is your privilege to understand by a careful analyzation of them, whether they are real or unreal. Men going by other men's versions, by other men's ideas and opinions, those things which have been given to one may be given to another by concentration it is true, and to them it may become to be original, individually, the same as it was to the other one. Nevertheless, unless you can convince yourself, such a version, such an expression and such an interpretation is the most accurate and the most perfect expression by examination and by analyzation, you cannot convince ME that such an expression is the perfect picture, but when you test and try those samples and examples of the different individuals' versions, ideas and opinions, and interpretations, and see and know definitely by the testers, whether they are the perfect expression, then and only then, can you know definitely whether such an expression is the accurate and perfect expression. So long as the version as put forth into expression from this angle is bringing forth the perfect picture and the desirable , the most accurate expression in results, in answer to one's request, we are obliged to believe such an expression must be the most accurate expression.
That is the way we know, by the results we get. I mean, after the manner of men I AM now speaking. If you do not know, only by what others are experiencing and by the results that you are getting, such an evidence would be sufficient to convince you definitely whether your version or the versions of others are the perfect versions, or is the perfect version whichever. You would know by the results which you, or they are getting. That is why My followers believe.
As one of the speakers said this evening, My followers believe they do not merely believe that I AM a good man; the believe that I AM the highest order of Being, because of their religious conviction and the results they are getting. That is why they believe ME; because when nothing else could help, when they tried everything else and everything else failed them, as the speaker said, when they sought every avenue of life for deliverance, and they could not find it by the eye, nor by the hand, nor by the spirit of men, when they found their deliverance, they were obliged to believe. That is why they say that I AM HE.
How marvelous it is to know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free free from all superstition, free from all criticism, free from all accusation and every other undesirable expression, but in the recognition and the realization of such a Presence, it will adjust matters satisfactorily automatically without your personal consideration. That is why they say as they do, and that is why they believe as they do. As the speaker said, "If nothing else could take the desires to commit crime and to commit vice of every kind away from their minds, and give them the desired results such as nothing else could give, is it not observable that they are obliged to believe?"
Can you not see plainly that is why they say they believe in ME? Can you not see plainly why they say they love ME? If it were only for the changing of the minds of men such an expression would be sufficient to convince any person or individual who would have such a conviction, it would be enough to convince them, the reaction of such an unction, such a touch it would be enough to convince them distinctly, there is a reality, when they make the touch perfectly. It is convincing, because the very Spirit bears witness, and each and every individual can see nothing could change the thousands and thousands.
Who could stop just say this number, who are in this auditorium this evening, from doing many of their mortal pleasures, human fancies and human desires? But I venture to say, many hobbies many mortal hobbies you have, or have had, nothing on earth could change; but the very Name of GOD Changed your mind completely, and caused you to be willing to DENY yourself, to suffer hardships for righteousness' sake. Is this not convincing to any people? To be willing to live as you are living, to DENY all of your worldly pleasures, your human fancies and every mortal expression, but you might reckon yourselves in the number REDEEMED from among men, and not defiled with women.
Then, what is it about ME to attract the masses by the thousands and millions? What is it that would cause the thousands and millions to follow ME as an individual, when I AM bringing them through the most severe tests, that they might deny themselves, and live according to the Gospel?
Now what is it could do that? Why should they follow the insignificance of ME, if it is not something more than mortal to command, I say, why would they follow ME as a man? Aren't you glad?
There are thousands and millions of My followers to whom I have not spoken personally, and yet they deny themselves of all human pleasures, all human fancies and all human tendencies. Now what would cause them to do that? What would cause men as well as women, girls and boys all combined, to lay aside all of their human pleasures, their human fancies and their human tendencies, their human affection, and love ME whole-heartedly? What could keep them here like this? They would stay here all night, if I would stay, would you not?
("Yes, FATHER!" exclaimed the multitude of angels.)
Oh, it is something to consider! There is nothing that could control you individually, much less collectively and bring you into subjection to "A Desire." Aren't you glad? Is it not plain to see there is something more than that of what you call ME. I mean, that what you critics, if there be any what you call ME. It is something more than man, more than mortal to command; therefore, you can plainly see the work and mission is worth considering; for it is only a matter of time, as it is with these under the sound of My Voice, and the thousands and thousands at 115th Street, waiting for ME now, so will it be elsewhere, yea, universally here and there and everywhere. Aren't you glad?
Whatsoever it is you all leave everything without My consideration, without My request, without My desire for you to do so, without the simplest desire of Mine, for you to do so, and would stay right here all night, if I would. There is nothing else that you have pleasure in. There is nothing else that you have glory in. There is nothing else on earth that could and would satisfy your desire as looking at ME. Now don't say it unless you mean it. I AM just saying what you have said not only in words, but in deeds and in actions; therefore, I will use Myself as a sample and as an example. I will use Myself as a center of attraction for Righteousness, Truth and Justice, that the Righteous Government might be universally established. Aren't you glad?
I will attract the masses and bring them into this direction, and will cause you to love ME more and more. (A great demonstration of love was exhibited here at this point.)

Someone might say, "How is that?" It is just the same as it is with gasoline. I hear men say around gas stations I mean, gasoline stations "Why, don't light a cigarette around here." Seventy-five or eighty years ago, if you can trace your thoughts back to that time, they did not speak so much about those things, striking a match or something of that sort at these different places. They did not handle so much gasoline in those days, did they? ("No, FATHER!" was the quick reply.) I have seen kerosene; you can light a match or something, and throw it in a can were kerosene was and at times it would not even ignite.
The Spirit of this Truth and this Love combined will ignite, for it is ignitable. You cannot keep still, because it is REAL. It is not an imagination; it is your conscious conviction and realization that have actually quickened those electrons of electricity within you, and they being quickened so expressively, they are "touchable". When one gets near that individual in thought, the reaction of such a mental and spiritual touch, the Spirit will reflect from that one to the other, and they cannot control themselves personally. That is what it is all about.
For this cause we shall continue and continue to go on, and we shall see that I love you more. But remember, as I have afore said, all of our love and devotion, for GOD and man and for GOD to them, we shall continue to use our energy and our ambition in a constructive way of expression, where GOD might be established in His majesty and mercy and bring about a government such as we have it under Our Personal Jurisdiction . . . We shall bring into legalization, the very spirit and work of this Mission, and all mankind shall eventually recognize it, for it is well worth considering . . . When it is lifted as a standard, all mankind can see the scientificness of it; they can see the accurateness of it; can see the perfection of it. They too, will eventually copy after the Fashion I have shown you, and all will enter in at the "Strait Gate." I thank you!
