FATHER DIVINE
The angels went literally from mansion to mansion, after the Righteous Government Forum at the new Samsonville Extension in the Promised Land, Saturday, October 17th. After a perfect afternoon and evening in FATHER'S Personal Presence at the beautiful new estate in the mountains, bordering on the Catskill Mountain State Reservation, the majority of those from New York dispersed to neighboring Extensions -- Krumville, Olivebridge, Stone Ridge, Highfalls and Kingston, for the night. FATHER Personally was found at the Kingston Headquarters next morning, and again there was a happy gathering in the beautiful private dining room there while FATHER served. Many testimonies and songs of Praise were given, and then the Words of Wisdom, of Spirit and Life began to flow from the Fountain that never runs dry, as FATHER Spoke Personally as follows:
PEACE EVERYONE! I rise to say, as I thought it while the last speaker was speaking -- I retraced My Thoughts back to a testimony I heard the other day. The party mentioned how marvelous it was when they first heard of ME, and what a Spirit of ecstasy they lived in. The Spirit of Enthusiasm and Joy unspeakable were manifested among them. All of these expressions, desirably declared were manifested among them, and everybody -- all of them apparently -- were exceedingly happy until they allowed criticism to creep in. When criticism cropped up and the further in crept in, as I may say, it brought about a division between yourselves and others apparently, and it also caused a disturbance in your mentality, to cause your minds no longer to be filled with enthusiasm and the ecstasy of Heaven as it had been, or as they had been. But when you retrace your thoughts back and make the rightful re-contact once again -- and contact harmoniously, you find yourself getting a foretaste again of that Glory you did have.
While I was thinking along that line I also thought of the testimony of the brother a little while ago in reference to being lifted and freed from a condition where it was impossible for a physician to heal him. I thought of his implicit faith. Without seeing ME Personally, without any criticism, from those conditions he was delivered. Oh, it is a privilege to realize what your Faith can do for you! As I often say, if there comes a time in your life when you are not delivered or freed from any and every undesirable condition, it must be some cause for it. Your simplicit and unadulterated Faith brought you your deliverance in the beginning; you must be substantiated in Faith and unshaken in confidence continually. But if you will allow criticism, or accusation or fault-finding to come in, to cause you to deviate in your thoughts, words, deeds or actions, it may cause you to be found in a chaotic condition again.
That thought I called to mind because of the brother's testimony, how he was freed almost instantaneously, because of his Faith he had in ME without seeing ME! Now it did not change ME. I AM the same today and yesterday as I was, and I AM the same tomorrow. For this cause your Faith, with unshaken confidence, is the only hope of Redemption and your continuous deliverance from adverse and undesirable conditions. Oh, it is a privilege to realize it! Now as I before said, by Faith -- regardless of what the consequence may have been -- you have been freed from all undesirable conditions and forgiven for all of your sins.
By this, it matters not what may arise, it matters not how the clouds may come in the sky, your Faith should be the same, if it be only for a selfish purpose. Isn't that Wonderful! I AM stressing it because your Faith is the thing that gave you the Victory; not so much what I did to you or for you, but your Faith in ME, as though it was ME, gave you the Victory over the conditions that you were undergoing.
Then I say, substantiated Faith and unshaken confidence -- Perfect Faith -- transcends every idea and every opinion, every human imagination and every conscious negative realization. Even though there be negative conditions existing in your consideration, to the convincing of the conscious mentality of any individual, your Faith, if it is perfect, would still be substantiated and be unshaken; it would give you Victory over every difficulty. Oh, it is a privilege to realize it, and by standing firm in this substantiated Faith and unshaken confidence which you did express at the time you received your Emancipation from those conditions, you can and will continue to receive the same freedom from every adverse and undesirable condition. Oh, it is a privilege to realize it!
Therefore I say,
'Faith is the Victory that overcometh the world," or "This is the Victory that overcometh, even your Faith.'
It is a privilege to realize, when you shall have been once in reality substantiated
in Faith, made REAL in Faith, made real in LOVE combined, these two distinct
Attributes of GOD should be a part of yours; a part of you, in other words, as
well as a part of ME and Mine. When LOVE that is REAL shall have been established
in you, the real Love has no bounds nor barriers. It transcends all human imagination
and every obstacle and every undesirable condition. That Love will not be retarded!
That Love that cannot be refuted, that Love that cannot be defeated, because
it is the Love of GOD transcending every imagination, as the X-ray shows things
beneath the surface of the skin.
LOVE must transcend the skill and the ability of men. If Science and Invention can bring about such an expression that can cause mankind to picture that condition underneath the skin and even beneath the flesh, plainly, it is plain to see that the mystery of GOD'S Presence, His Love and His Mercy should transcend and be able to X-ray perfectly through every condition. Oh, it is a privilege to realize, upon this Foundation if you will stand you will not have an occasion to fret nor worry. It would be a matter of impossibility for you to be a failure, for the Spirit of GOD'S Presence as exemplified among you will be ever throughout Eternity, the Victorious Conqueror for you.
I was thinking again of what the speaker said in reference to the Agricultural Department. In the beginning GOD placed man in the Garden of Eden and gave him dominion over vegetation and even over the animal kingdom. They were not harmful nor destructive one to the other in the beginning, but afterwards when wickedness came in, up until recent years, the very spirit of man was destructive. As I was saying the other day when we were driving along and the chauffeur said he saw a turtle or terrapin, or some sort of a shell fish or animal in the road, he turned to keep from hitting it. Time back the majority of the people would see anything like that they would run over it and crush it just through the spirit of cruelty, for it had been transmitted from one to the other until the earth was full of it -- cruelty, prejudice or hate.
But today the Light has truly come, where GOD has Glorified His Son and is actually Glorifying mankind, saving them from the spirit of cruelty, the spirit of hate and brutality from every angle expressible. The time will come when real Love shall have developed to the full measure in the hearts and lives of the children of men, there will not even so much as be a desire to kill anything. When these tendencies shall have been overcome we shall have Peace on Earth and Good Will to men, the purpose for which CHRIST came. Oh, it is a privilege to realize it!
Therefore I say, as you harmonize with the Spirit of Harmony, of Love and of Unity, for the Life of Righteousness is exemplified, you will eventually come to that place in consciousness where you will be able to overcome every inharmonious condition that may be existing, even among the animals in the animal kingdom, and they too as well you, will eventually become to be harmless. Aren't you glad! But so long as there is a tendency of destroying in the hearts and lives of the children of men, the reaction of such a tendency may be in the animals, to destroy them. They may get it through mental telepathy, although you did not think an animal could transmit it, neither get it; but he can get it through mental telepathy the same as the human race.
Oh, it is a privilege to realize the Truth concerning the mystery of our present existence. The time will come when those who are living in the Unity of the Spirit in reality, they will find that even the mineral kingdom, as the brother said, will work in harmony with the animal kingdom, and the animal kingdom will work in harmony with the man kingdom, and the animal kingdom will also be in harmony with the vegetable kingdom. They will not be destructive one to the other -- just what we may term to be willfully destructive. You have seen by nature, animals at times would naturally destroy things they did not want to eat, did not need to eat. Just willfully destroy it, expressing the nature of the destructive mind of mankind! I know you have seen or heard of at times, especially a male cow, at times he would get his horns in a bush and he tear up the bush because of that spirit of destruction transmitted from something without.
So it is a wonderful privilege to realize what GOD can do and what HE is actually doing; but first of all the kingdom of man must needs be Redeemed from vice and from crime, and from sin of every kind, and when this shall have been universally accomplished and established, mankind will have a Utopia, and with the Utopia and controlled by the Spirit of Righteousness they will hand it down to the lower kingdom, the animal kingdom. They are expressing it now. As I was saying, had it been a few years ago, any time you would drive along the road you would see different things run over by cars because men had a mind to destroy. They had that destructive mind more than they have today.
So, as I have afore said, as contagious as contagious and destructive diseases are, even so contagious will the atmosphere be with Righteousness, Truth and Justice, as it is among us. Isn't that Wonderful! Mankind will feel in the future, destructive tendencies and fancies and pleasures will be inharmonious and destructive to themselves as individuals.
I would like to say in reference to our Righteous Government Meeting held last evening, one of the first, at least the first opening in that part of the Country altogether, we are pleased to know it was a beautiful turn-out. You can plainly see, the public are deeply -- those who are the neighbors around -- are deeply interested and we know it is only a matter of time and all will be running into the Kingdom, in fulfilment of the Scripture. It is indeed Wonderful! Therefore we shall continue to be persistent in our ambition and press forward and express it, not only in words but in deeds and in actions, by going to the extreme reverse to that which all of these negative and detestable characteristics and tendencies would suggest for you.
These detestable tendencies of men will suggest negative, and detestable and undesirable things for you. If you will yield to the temptation of the suggestion of negation, you will be partakers of negation's nature, and it will cause you to be an expresser of it.
'To him whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey.'
So it is to you to know distinctly, the negative suggestions and imperfect suggestions
coming from your senses of feelings, of sight and of hearing -- especially when
they are selfish, they are detrimental to you.
Whatsoever the sense of sadness would suggest, you may know it is not right. Whatsoever the sense of resentment may suggest, you may know it is detrimental. Whatsoever the sense of anger may suggest, you may know it is not right. Whensoever any of those detestable tendencies, your mental or physical senses would suggest, you may know they are conflicting, therefore they are detrimental. If you obey them you are a servant of them.
'To whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey.'
By obeying the sense of sadness, the sense of anger, the sense of jealousy, the
sense of prejudice, the sense of resentment, or any of the other tendencies or
characteristics, you will find yourself to be the servant to obey them, if you
will allow them to suggest to you by obeying them. That is the mystery.
Every human tendency, every human fancy, every human pleasure, and all of your sense of selfishness, every mortal expression -- when you obey these suggestions you are going to the extreme opposite to the positive direction, therefore to you it is detrimental. That is why those of you who have even so much as been freed from conditions -- all sorts of undesirable conditions -- and have found yourselves in some other undesirable condition; it is because you have yielded yourself in some way to the suggestion of that undesirable tendency, undesirable fancy, or undesirable pleasure. You have yielded yourself to both it and them, therefore you have become to be the servant of them. You overcome those things by fasting from every tendency that those detestable characteristics and tendencies may suggest and you fast from them by refusing to yield to them; by refusing to do what they tell you to do.
As the brother said in reference to the sense of resentment reflected, it is an expression at times well worth considering. It will rise at times, in opposition to selfishness and other tendencies that may present themselves to you. It may rise at times unwillingly as it may be termed, which is to say unwillingly or volitionally in you whichever, and against your will. You may express it unwillingly as a person. Nevertheless, you should be watchful that it is not yourself, or your preconceived ideas and opinions, your preconceived fancies, pleasures and their tendencies, for in sheep's clothing at times those tendencies may rise within you, and may attempt to inspire you to do something or say something that is detrimental, and tell you it is the Spirit of GOD when it is only the mortal mind. That is the wolf that is dressed in sheep's clothing. If you are watchful, and will weigh everything on the Scale of Justice to weigh accurately, you can and will adjust matters satisfactorily by bringing your weights under the regulation of weights and measures.
The Weights and Measures in the great Universal Scheme of things in the Heavenly State of expression must be the Scale of Justice which we are stressing daily, as JESUS the CHRIST was the Scale of Justice, and the Mind of CHRIST was the Balances. If you will balance your minds by the Mind of CHRIST, the Scale of Justice will adjust matters satisfactorily with the Spirit of Accurateness if you will place everything on the Scale of Justice, for CHRIST is GOD'S Idea concerning all things.
Stress the idea of CHRIST by concentrating on it and by getting GOD'S Idea concerning all things by concentrating on Jesus as the Sample and the Example for the children of men. When you concentrate on the Person of Jesus as the outstanding Sample and the Example, as the exact Image and Likeness of GOD Himself in His Ideas and Opinions concerning all things that concern you, when you weigh them on this Scale of Justice, the Spirit of My Presence will be with you and will give you the Spirit of Accurateness, for it will be transmitted by the Spirit of Accurateness that will be exerted and exemplified on the Scale of Justice when it weighs it.
As I have often said, you may not know a letter of the English alphabet, it is immaterial to ME. You may not have read the Bible, nor even so much as the Catechism concerning Jesus and all Mystery, neither a parable in connection with Christendom. It makes no difference, all you must needs do is to make your mental and spiritual contact with the great Principle stressed as the Sample and as the Example, stressed by millions concentrating on Him believing sincerely. If you do not know, if you have not seen, you need not fret nor worry, but by concentration the reaction of your thoughts on the Perfect Visible Picture as stressed will cause the intuition to be an expression in you as the transmitted Inspiration from Him on Whom you are concentrating. By concentrating on the Perfect Picture the transmission of His Spirit will be unto you. It will come forth into expression, the same as when you make your rightful contact with the high-tension wire, the spirit of that electricity will be transmitted from the high-tension wire to the wire that you have connected.
You can and you do make your contact by contacting the Fundamental mentally; and by harmonizing with it the transmission of the identical Spirit -- not a different spirit, the identical Spirit -- and the identical Idea and the identical Opinion of GOD will be transmitted to you through that connection you are making in CHRIST.
Truly might have one said, "What would Jesus say about this, that or the other?" Laying aside yourselves for consideration, laying aside yourselves as individuals completely, stressing the Fundamental as it has been declared by the Sample and the Example, visualizing it vividly, your answer will come speedily. When you visualize it vividly, it will come as quick as a flash. When you make your rightful contact, when you make a complete surrender and detach yourself from every outlet that is going in the opposite or negative direction and make your contact in the positive, the reaction of such a contact will bring the result immediately.
Every good and desirable blessing will come spontaneously when you make your rightful contact and cut off or shut off every other outlet for the transmission of that which should come to you; for you cannot get direct information, you cannot get a direct contact whichever, unless you detach and shut off that which tends to throw it in a different direction.
A private line in connection with your telephone is a parable concerning the mystery of the significance of making your rightful contact. Party lines -- others may be on the line at times and you cannot make your connection at that particular juncture, but if you have a private line, even though there are millions of telephones, that private line should be open at all times. You should be able to make your contact and your connection readily.
Make your mental and your spiritual contact as you made it in the beginning. Irrespective of the thought of the people and of what your past experience may have been, and what conditions may be, if you will harmoniously contact ME you will find you will get the harmonious result. As I said, your Faith in ME has made you whole. It is through your Faith, you are physically well and healthy today. I matters not what a person may say concerning ME or concerning you, it does not change the situation, it does not change the condition. The situation is the same, and we should recognize it to be, by your mental and your spiritual contact with ME.
X-ray through every seeming difficulty, and recognize GOD'S Presence continually, and lo, I will be with you harmoniously, and you will be with ME harmoniously, from every angle expressible. Upon this Foundation if you will stand, you will find even your daily occupation and other daily duties will work harmoniously with you, as you work in harmony with your GOD. Even the conditions and circumstances will change to be in harmony, since GOD is the Creator of all things -- of this, and of these -- both animate and inanimate expressions of creation, and GOD will work in perfect harmony with you, as much as you work in harmony with GOD. If you go tighten a bolt or screw, it will fit well. Why? Because you are in harmony with GOD -- those material things being the Creation of GOD and being brought out by Science and by Invention, coming by the Spirit of your Creator.
Then I say, those things will even work in harmony with you. Why should an automobile act disorderly? Why should it not work in harmony with you? It is an inharmonious condition in the mind somewhere that has caused in-harmony and inharmonious conditions to result in your machine. The Perfect Mind will bring about perfect harmony, until the time comes when those things that are as machines shall have been used enough to tell them, "It is enough done, be transformed or reincarnated in another."
Why would you allow your machine, and other material things, to cause you to fret and worry? I have seen men at times working on machines and they could not get the things, screws and bolts, to go as they should, and they would throw the wrench down and swear. Why was it? It was because the inharmonious condition of the mind was reflected in the inanimate substance of that which is called a bolt. Therefore Peace and Harmony as it is reflected in you should react as the outward expression of your conscious and subconscious mentality.
The time cometh and now is, that which was in the Invisible shall be known openly, and all things will work in harmony when you shall have perfect harmony within yourself. Things seem to work pretty pleasantly with ME! Things should work the same way for you. Just adjust matters satisfactorily mentally, and spiritually and especially with your Creator, and things that are of the material world of expression, since HE Created them, will be brought into subjection the same as the Cosmic Forces of Nature in your past experiences.
