"I am a total stranger here, but I don't suppose there is any man in this room who has been in as many foreign countries as I have. I only left England in November last (1938) on a business trip around the world, and the reason that I am here is because in so many different countries I have been asked if I know about FATHER DIVINE and His Message.

"Now then, I have been in Egypt, I have been in India, I have been in Burma. I witnessed there in Burma the ships loaded with munitions, munitions that were being taken to China to be used against the Japanese, munitions of war. Of course there is slaughter and trouble right through the world, which every sane man is trying to stop.

"Now, I went on through the Malay States, on through Batavia to Java, to Australia, to New Zealand. I attended a Maori church in Rondobia in New Zealand, and the Maori Parson translated into the Maori language FATHER DIVINE'S Message, which I hope shall go on until the mountains of Maori crumble to dust. That is how strong it should be.

"Now I go on from there to Suva, Fiji, through Samoa on to Hawaii. I only landed in America on the twenty-first of this month, and I have come right across. Now here I am in New York and I was going to see and to meet FATHER DIVINE, and HE kindly asked me to come up today and I felt that I should see HIM; and I tell you that I am very much inspired by the way that HE has been Speaking. HE is doing Something here that I feel is going to be a wonderful thing.

"Now you can quite appreciate that I am a total stranger. This is the first time I have been here, but it has given me a very, very great pleasure to hear YOU Speak, FATHER DIVINE!"
