FATHER DIVINE SAID:
"My reason for proof-reading at the Table is to give the Followers a chance, and others, to hear the Message before it is released to the press, as it has been given when it is transcribed, and also to give those who desire for the Message to be read, whilst we are present, we might give them a chance to hear it and also a chance for ME to be in their presence without retiring to MY Office to proof-read all of MY Messages. This is the way we have a chance to be together a little longer, by proof-reading quite a number of our Messages at the Table, the different manuscripts and different releases we have.
If we proof-read them at the Table or in the audience, that will give us a chance to be together a little longer. When we retire to the Office for practical service, it is a matter of impossibility to accommodate all we can accommodate in the dining room and in the different auditoriums. For this cause we usually proof-read the Messages as given, the different releases we have for the press, at the Banquet Tables and also in the auditoriums. Hence, it gives MY Followers a chance to be here and give ME a chance to be in their presence a little longer. I thank you."
